Sonos S2 App Broke Audible

The Sonos S2 app won’t connect with Audible’s new Plus titles. The Sonos app still connects with and plays purchased titles. I regret changing from the Sonos app to S1 then S2 and should have left the Sonos app unchanged. Sonos support not available at this writing. Anyone else notice this issue? Thank you.

Hi @The Soul Rider.

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community!

I appreciate your detailed post outlining your concern, let me help and try to figure this out.

The Audible service is currently operational when I check it under Sonos Status Page.

If I understand it correctly, this just started when you update to the S2 app?

If this hasn’t been done yet, I suggest ‘reauthorizing’ the service through the Sonos app, and here’s how:

Settings > Services & Voice >  Music & Content > Audible > ‘Reauthorize’

To verify, you have already downloaded the titles?

As per Audible’s support page, that is how you can listen to the Audible Plus catalog titles on Sonos speakers.

If the advice above doesn’t help, kindly submit a diagnostic report, and reply with the confirmation number.

I'd like to see if there is anything under the hood that could be causing this issue.

Let us know how it goes and if you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

Thank you. This was already solved and can closed.

Here is what I wrote on Monday, 9-7-20, via e-mail to Sonos:

"Thank you for your reply . That method didn’t work and I’d already tried it before I wrote to Sonos. I had also contacted Audible telephone support about this same problem. This last Saturday a knowledgeable Audible telephone support specialist said that Audible already knew about the problem, and that it would be impossible to play Audible’s new Plus titles, expect by streaming them through a browser at the Audible site.

Then, literally yesterday, Audible released an update to their iOS app. Although their previous release had a significant problem over which I had to telephone them to solve, I tried the update of yesterday. The update succeeded.

As of a few minutes ago I’m able to see the Plus titles inside the Audible app, whereas before that was not possible. But your Sonos app does not show Audible’s Plus titles at this writing.

This case can be closed as imagine Sonos might eventually work out its’ integration with Audible, and meanwhile I’ve the ‘workaround’ Audible made possible only yesterday.

Thank you.

Ok, so I’m using S1 (updated) and I have reauthorised the Audible account in the S1 app/ rebooted the app...but I still can’t see any titles that are the Audible Plus (free/included) titles with my membership. They show up on the Audible app, but don’t seem to sync through to Sonos. What can I try to solve this please?

I think that nothing has changed from  the situation described above: Audible Plus titles can only be played from the Audible app. This can be corrected by Audible reapiring it's intregration with Sonos.
