Controllers and Music services

Frequently when I select a song from my music library, even from the app on my computer where my music library is hosted, I get the “unable to play xxxxxx, the server cannot be found” error.If I clear the error message and tap play several times though, without changing, resetting, or touching any part if the system in any way, the song will start playing. So in some sense it’s a false error message, as all the devices  are on and connected and ready, and the system can do it, just not right away. It happens more often than not when I select a song these days, and it’s annoying. Anyone know what might be behind that or how to make it better?

Hello,The electrical supply to the house was shut off due to a PowerPoint issue. In the Sonos App, all three rooms appear to be working as soon as the power is restored. Until I try to play something, I cannot get it to play anything. There is no radio program on Tune In. My Tidal streaming account was used to listen to music. Once again, nothing. I need your help!

I have a Sonos IKEA frame and have recently reconfigured my wireless network. As a results, I fail to connect the Sonos speaker. I have tried all the suggestions to reset, restart etc. I have even checked that my speaker connects to a network in a different building. My hunch is that there is some incompatibility between the speaker and my network settings, but I cannot figure out what to do.Any suggestions?

Hi there,From a couple od weeks I’m experciencing problems with browsing Deezer on Sonos S2 app (PC and smartfone). The issue is: when I enter the Deezer tab in Sonos app, there is a loadsing sign for a brief moment and then the text “unable to browse music” aprears. I’ve already tried turning off and on the whole system, updating the Sonos app and Deezer app, but there is no effect. The strange thing is, that sometimes it works, so I’m little bit confused and guess this sugests that the issue is with Deezer, but maybe Sonos have some solution for this?Last time (2-3 days ago) it worked just fine, and then, when I’ve reconfigured speakers (Beam and 2x Play:1) and reactivated Deezer account the problem came back… Any ideas how to solve this, the issue is iritating?PS - voice control works fine with Deezer. 

Hi,I can’t login to the app with my android phone and with Ipad and all I get is ‘Let’s try that again’ X2 and than ‘Try again later’. I can log in in the web on a computer to my account. That internet Wifi works just fine. What is the problem?

How do you use Sonos on multiple networks?  Do you need a separate account for each network?

My previous setup was an old Orbi mesh router hardwired to my ARC and then my entire system (9 speakers) were on the Sonosnet system. It worked really well. I recently purchased the TP Link Deco XE75 6e Mesh router. I hooked up the ARC to the main router and the arc says WM:0. However, the rest of the speakers are on wifi WM:1. When I try to disable my wifi on the other speakers it comes up with an error. Also my other speakers are not staying connected via wifi. Sometimes I have to force close my app to get the speakers to show that they are connected. I’d really like to use the Sonosnet system and get all the speakers off my wifi. Anyone have success with this TP Link Mesh system? If not, I’m thinking about returning the TP-Link. Does anyone have any recommendations for a wifi 6e mesh system? 

My house is full of Sonos..in ever room. Never had issues in 3 years. WiFi is fine. 14 total Sonos devices including Boost. Since the LAST SONOS PHONE APP UPDATE, I get this occasionally. I see several others mention the same in different groups. All my speakers are working. If you click on the “fix it “issue < it comes back and says no Sonos products found on my WiFi…really? All are playing. Close the app out..guess what??!! Shows no issues. And at times ..app still crashes…  

Hi! What happened to the Sonos Radio collections? Just a week or two ago they were still found there. Now I can only find and listen to the Sonos stations saved in my own Sonos. You can still find those collections and listen to the Sonos stations on the Sonos website: https://radio.sonos.com/collections but I do not know how to find them again from iPhone app. Please help!  

I have radio stations on Amazon Music saved as SONOS Favorites and when I play some that have not been played for a while, I get the error “Requested operation failed. Please try again.”.  Is this a SONOS issue, or is it related to my Amazon Service.  Does SONOS limit the number of recently played stations for Amazon Services or is this a credential issue with Amazon?On the SONOS Favorite that is failing, I can do a search for the radiostation in Amazon and then it will play.  However, if I try to start it from the favorite link, I get the error message.

Sonos App worked without problem allowing me to access and play Apple Music.  Suddenly the Sonos app will not display the content of Apple Music on any of my devices.  I’ve gone into my Apple account and all is as it should be there.  Help

I’ve been using my old Sonos Play:1 with Apple Music for some time. I recently ‘downgraded’ the subscription to Apple Music Voice, because it’s £6/month cheaper and I didn’t need the extras provided with a full subscription. It may be a co-incidence, but since then, Sonos won’t recognise my Apple Music subscription. It keeps telling me that I need to renew my Apple Music subscription, which I don’t. I have tried signing out of Sonos and back in again, rebooting the speaker, signing out of Apple Music and back in again, disconnecting Apple Music from the Sonos app and reconnecting. Nothing seems to work. Suggestions?

Hi there,For some reason, Spotify won't play on my two Play 1 speakers after I've been using it with Sonos for some time. Playlists keep skipping songs and saying "unable to play song, connection lost". It usually starts playing after 3-5 skipped songs. The speakers are wired, and have been working for a long time. The speakers have been rebooted. Reconnected Spotify to the Sonos app. Router reboot.It seems that all other speakers (Arc, Sub, Play5 and one/sl) are working just fine.

When streaming music from YouTube it stops abruptly (5 to 10 seconds playback only). Other apps like Spotify work without any problems. 

Old iMac, want to access Sonos on it? Any ideas how to access this legacy file? 

I just updated to macOS Ventura 13.0.  The next day the Sonos Controller said I had an update.  Pressing the “Update Now” button started the update process normally.After asking for my Admin credentials, I get an error saying “Sonos Update failed.  An unexpected error occurred.  Please try again.” Is anyone else seeing this?Dave Info:Sonos Controller for MacVersion: 14.14Sonos: OS S2Build: 69123100

Hi all,I’ve had this issue for some time: Spotify drops music regularly, Apple Music works perfectly. Things I’ve tried:Change SonosNet Channel Run ethernet cable from router to Boost Position Sonos products as close as possible to main Boost (including another Boost). There is roughly 20-25 ft between the main Boost and the next product. All other products are about 10 ft away from each other. Reboot system Re-authorize Spotify service Move wireless devices like cordless phone away from speaker Confirm sufficient download speeds Set up a speaker in same room as main Boost to see if it improved the issue (it still skipped, though maybe not as often?)Things I cannot do:Change my wifi network channel. I use Eero, which prevents users from changing the channel manually.  Remove Eero extenders, which lets the wifi network reach the basement office. While not listed

My Sonos app won’t play Spotify. I reauthorized it. Says temporary not available. Crud!

Hi my newly purchased Mac Book Pro M2 running Ventura 13.1 shows this message when I try to connect to the folder containing my music “The computer “my MacBookPro” refused to let Sonos connect to it”.       I have installed the latest Sonos S2 controller.       I’ve checked the permissions on the folder.    Any suggestions would be very welcome.     Thanks

I recently upgraded from Sonos S1 to S2. My old NAS storage doesn’t work with S2 (it’s SMB1 only.;)Does anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive NAS storage device that works with Sonos S2? Best would be something that can use a flash drive for storage.thanks,Len

Hi all Sonos experts out there, Having read about the sonos port I thought I finally had the solution to upgrade my audio setup (a Pro-ject Debut Carbon which I connect to two active KRK rockit speakers using a 2-channel mixing table which serves as my phono pre-amp and allows me to connect with my PC for music streaming etc.) into a more user-friendly (read wife and kids friendly) set-up that allows for easy streaming of music while keeping my old gear. Connecting the sonos port I can indeed listen to my vinyl on my new sonos speakers (a sound bar and 2 ONEs), but it turns out that there are very short glitches when listening to vinyl. they only last for half a second or so, but happen every couple of minutes. It seems to be more like some issue with the wi-fi connectivity between the port and the speakers, but this doesn't happen when streaming music on my sonos speakers from my phone and my wi-fi is broadband, the port is in the same room as the router, with no bloc

Hi All,Until last week I was able to access my music library from an unpowered external HDD through my TP_Link Archer VR2800 router.  I replaced the unpowered HDD with a Seagate external powered HDD, removing the reference to the existing library and tried to create the new reference.  No go.  Classic symptoms of the SMB v1 issue that is being discussed.I am running a Windows 10 laptop that has no trouble talking to the router or the Seagate HDD.  I can access/play movies/music from there.  SMB v1 is disabed on my laptop so the router must be using SMB v2.My Sonos system (3 x Ones, Play:5 and a Beam) are all upgraded to S2.  S2 has no SMB v1 capability.  This upgrade occurred a while ago (many months to a year if I recall).So everything is running SMB v2. Moreover, the library was working fine last week with the unpowered HDD.  Now I can’t add the library on the Seagate HDD and I can’t add the library reference to the old HDD.Saying it’s a simple S

As a new Sonos convert I have a play5 gen1 but am unable to add my iTunes music library from my apple iPad (The same iPad that has the Sonus 1 app) I get as far as music library set up but then can only get to ‘Add shared music folder’ no other options appear.Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
