Controllers and Music services

I have my Arc and Sub connect to QNAP NAS with .aif music files but playback is terrible. On the same set-up movies sound great and streaming music from Sonos radio sounds good. Wondering if other people with similar set-ups have the same problem? 

I have Sonos equipment (amps, playbar, sub, Play:5) set up in different rooms of my house. I’m switching ISPs and need to migrate everything over to the new WiFi network. I’ve tried doing this through the Sonos app but have been unsuccessful so far. I’ve power cycled everything (repeatedly) but still get error messages or “unable to join network.” I didn’t do the initial setup of our Sonos equipment, an AV company did, so I’m wondering if I’m missing something.

Pourtant l’écoute d’une radio comme France Inter sur Sonos Radio déclenche la diffusion sur TuneIn !! Bien entendu, avec pub ! Qqun peut-il me l’expliquer ?

Hello,     I currently run 6 connect:amps to passive speakers and 2 play:5 speakers to power whole home audio.   These were set up in 2012 so all are Gen 1.   The system stopped working recently so I started attempting to individually connect each one to the sonos system (S1).  I was able to connect one amp, however the app does not allow me to “add another product” to my account without updating the app.  Obviously, if I update the app to S2 (which I assume is what the app is asking me to do) I will not be able to use my Gen 1 Connect:amps ? Any suggestions how to reconnect my current hardware since the app is not allowing me to “add another device”, the option is grayed out and when clicked it pops up telling me to update app or not be able to add anything else. Thanks!!

I recently purchased the Wildd Roku Sono Controller.  I was able to install the app and it looks great on my TV and I am able to control the sonos, but no sound comes out. I can hear the Roku sounds when I go to options, but can not hear the music (even after I figured out how to un mute it). Any ideas?  Thanks. 

When I try to connect to my Sonos system, the circle just keeps spinning around and it just doesn’t connect. It connected yesterday I don’t understand why. Anyone know why? I have several sonos products and it happens with all of them.

Hi all I am an avid fan of Progrock.com music station but I can’t seem to connect with it anymore through my sonos?Any help would be appreciated Richie 

The ‘All Music’ folder tracks on my Synology NAS are in alphabetical order. Today when I tried to play it through my Sonos, the order was no longer alphabetical, more like random. How do I control this?

My wife’s MacBook name has changed since we added her music folder to our Sonos library. So when we tried to play music it was not found.  So I added her new music folder to the Sonos library and removed the old one, and everything appeared to have updated.  However, when trying to play a track from her library we get the same error - it is looking for the track in the old location.  How do you get Sonos to look for the track in the new updated library?? Hi.For some unknown reason my Play 1 and Play 3 are upgraded to S2.And therefore incompatible with my Sonos 1 system.I have tried to follow the downgrade instructions:Factory reset, install S2 app, support->downgrade. App finds the speakers on my network, but when I then confirm to do the downgrade, it fails with the reason “ We couldnt find any Sonos-products on “networkname”, so we cannot configure Play3” Same situation with the Play1.Any ideas?BR,/Lars

I’m in Sweden. Currently I can hear BBC Radio on Tune-in, but the broadcast is interrupted now and again with a warning that broadcasting will end in 2023. I’ve been in touch with the BBC who tell me the following:The BBC uses several streaming technologies to deliver BBC Sounds. One of these is called Shoutcast which the BBC will stop using by mid-2023. We recommend that if you hear the message advising of the change, to follow the advice and get in contact with the manufacturer. It might be possible for the device to be updated to use another of stream technologies that we will continue to use (HLS and DASH).Shoutcast is an older streaming technology and many connected radio devices in the UK no longer use it for BBC streams. Ending support for Shoutcast will enable us to focus on HLS and DASH - the two most popular technologies currently used. I have a beam and two play 1. It started not connecting when I try to play music in Spotify or TuneIn. I was able to reconnect by rebooting speakers. Now they don’t connect regardless how many times I reboot. I spent hours with Sonos support but they says my router is not compatible and so is the extender. I used them for more than 3 years with no issues until recently. Support guys are just cutting the conversation by saying it is the router and don’t give any resolution. For them, saying the router is not compatible after 3 years of service is a resolution. Anybody else also frustrated by ignorance of support?

For the past week, I have been unable to add tracks to a queue from any service, Amazon, Spotify, etc. I receive no error message. Nor do I have the dropdown that allows me to Play Next. My mac and Sonos S2 software is up to date. I’ve tried rebooting my mac and my roam, with no success. I’m hesitant to reboot my router because my Sonos system seems to be functioning properly. Previously, I was able to add tracks to my queue and create playlists. However, I can’t do that today. Any advice?

I am trying to add the Apple Music library on my MacBook Pro to my the Sonos 2 app on my iPad. I keep getting the error message “There is no share users on the computer ...” What does this error message mean, what settings do I need to update on my MBP, what are the required values for the fields in the Share Info box? I have \\MBP name\users\my account name\music. I am running the latest versions of Sonos app, Mac O/S, iOS

I have an S1 system that has been working fine until a week ago. We have all old products, except for a new play 1, which is also on this system.A week ago all the android controllers and the ipad controller stopped finding the system. However the computer desktop app and the old CR200 still find all of the rooms easily. All divices are on the same network. Th Samsung tablet, ipad and android phones are all on the same network as the computer. I have tried the computer hard wired and wireless and it works fine on both.I have hard wired the Play 1 straight to the router and they still won’t find it.The various messages I get are:Unable to connect to Sonos. Learn moreSonos not found on this wifiWe can’t find sonos on your networkWe didn’t find any products connected to your router.I have tried all of the instructions on the various controllers and none of them do anything. I have Sonos in two houses (A and B) and separate equipment. I want the two houses with the same app and I have understood this should be working automatically after setup depending on which WiFi I am connected to.But it doesn’t work in the last step and I don’t understand what to do to make it work (and I am also not sure if I have done the first two steps correctly). This is the situation:I have set up a Sonos system in house A using iPhone with Sonos Account A (I have both an iPad and a Macbook there and they also work fine). I have then taken my iPhone to house B and created a Sonos Account B, factory reset my Sonos products there and everything is working fine. When I go back to house A again and connect to that WiFi the Sonos app doesn’t work - what should be done in this last step?Thanks in advance!Klas  

When I upgraded to a Mac mini and transferred everything over from the old Mac, the sonos app on our Android phones won’t sync with the Android app on my desktop. Can’t see the music libraries, can’t see any custom Sonos playlists that I created on the desktop, etc.  I also have a bunch of iTunes playlists on my desktop that Sonos doesn’t see, no matter how many times I point to the new music Library on the mini.

Sometimes when I go into the app it try’s to refresh but doesn’t find my system even though I’m on the correct WiFi network. Then after a while, it will say “unable to connect to Sonos. Let’s fix it”.  does anyone else experience this and are there any preventions/fixes?  

Hi. How can I use the new Spotify Playlist functions in the Sonos App? I’m talking about the new Spotify playlist feature where a Spotify artificial intelligence supplements the current playlist with additional songs automatically. This function is not able in the Sonos App. And vice versa the volume fine tune slider from the Sonos App is not available in the Spotify App 😞

Recently the iOS S2 controller app was updated. In the past if a device was unplugged, it just didn’t show up. Then when you plugged it in it would be found. It was like this for ages, with S1 also.Now if you unplug a device it shows up as “not connected”, and even if you plug it back in it remains “not connected”. There is now a lengthy process to re-connect.Luckily for me, for now, the S2 controller on the PC still works the old way – I can unplug and re-plug. To add insult to injury, it also says it can’t find a Sonos Connect. Well, I decommissioned that a year ago, and of course it isn’t supported by S2 anyway. The fact that it spends many minutes trying to reconnect to it is annoyingI went to the web page, and it listed all my devices correctly, but said they all needed to be update to make the S2 compatibly. But that is clearly not true either – I have used all my device with S2.Regarding my main problem, the “not connected” when I turn something off. I know Sonos has always reco

Hola! Tengo un sistema sonos que inicialmente se instaló todo en una misma casa… Ahora necesito separar 2 dispositivos que se queden en una y otros dos que se han trasladado a otra… pero no encuentro la manera de hacerlo… alguien sabe cómo?

Sonos devices not accepting selected music choice. Plays random tracks instead. 

I am using the Sonos app on my Ipad. When I try to access my Queue, it says “Not in Use”. I can’t seem to find a way to get access to the Queue, Any suggestions?

Hope someone can help - none of the other similar topics seemed to work for me.i have a play3 fully up to date and working fine through clunky S2 app. Purchased a oneSL for the next room, specifically so I could group them and play to both simultaneously via airplay. The One also works fine on its own via airplay.I can enable the “group non-airplay products” slider, but playback still only comes from the One. Note: in the Airplay selection menu on iOS, I don’t see any different group to choose for playback (should I?). It just says Dining Room, just like it does when the grouping option is disabled.i removed my 5ghz network so both are on the same 2.4 ssid. Both units are well within range of the router; extremely doubtful this is a network issue.And so I’m out of things to try at this point. Any suggestions would be welcome.thanks!
