Controllers and Music services

Is there an easy way to do it without having to terminate Apple Music app and Sonos app, then restart music stream from Sonos app? Otherwise Sonos app always displays “playing through Airplay”. iPhone doesn’t allow 2 audio streams, so I cannot Airplay music to Sonos and eg watch YT on built in speakers. Stating music on Sonos app is slow and buggy, so it would be great if there was an easy way to switch the streams quickly 

Hello, I hope someone can help as this is driving me nuts.A few days ago both Deezer Hi Fi and Tidal both stopped each track approx 10s early on each track. Apple Music doesn’t do it though.So far, Sonos haven’t had the slightest idea despite 3 lengthy calls.I’m using Connect with an outboard Ifi Signature Zen one Dac via co ax Prodac cable .It doesn’t  do it if using within their own app bluetoothed so it’s not the streaming services I’d think . Kind regards Stephen  

Why has my Sonos Port stopped playing Magic Radio Auckland 100.6 FM .. all the other Magic Stations in NZ seem to work ok through it.

Having a connection issue. Can someone tell me what is the most likely cause?  My products or amps are showing up once I hit the Air Play button, but once I press on one of my listed amps, it spins and never connects.  I’ve unplugged and plugged power for the amps to no avail. Ty 

 I have 3 speakers in 3 different rooms. Most times I only want to listen to the speaker in the room I am in but there are times where I may want to play speaker 1 and 2, or 1 and 3, or 2 and 3, etc. It seems like I have to create a group and then delete it if I want to play on different combinations of speakers. These are S2 speakers that are downgraded to S1. Ideally, I would like to play something on a speaker and then check and uncheck other speakers as desired.

I have been running my Sonos system with the same setup for at least two years now. My issue started this morning when I could not access any music. After troubleshooting, I discovered that my Sonos Boost was slightly unplugged. I plugged it back in and reset the Boost device. Now, I can’t add the boost to my system. It either says that it could not find the device, or could not find the network. It basically says “We couldn’t find any Sonos products on XXXXXX (wifi) so we can’t set up your Boost”.I have reset my ios device network, rebooted my router, and reset the Boost device, but still cannot establish a connection with my wifi. I was hoping that my Sonos controller on my PC could assist me, but I think they are two separate systems (?). Any suggestion would help me out greatly.

I’ve been building out my Sonos system in my home a bit at a time.  I started with a Connect amp to power bookshelf speakers in my study and living room; next I added a pair of Play1 speakers in my family room. Then I was gifted a Sonos Move by my kids for Christmas, and subsequently added a Sub to the living room.  All of these work well together and separately.  They all appear in my iOS app as well as in Sonos Controller for PC (Windows 10).  The problem is with the last two additions: a pair of Sonos Play 1 speakers, one in the master bedroom and one in the spare bedroom..  Having carefully and successfully added these two speakers (after resetting and updating both to work with my Sonos2 controller), they periodically cease being able to access my music files on my computer and disappear from the PC controller (though they still appear on my iOS Sonos app and can access SiriusXM).  Any help would be greatly appreciated; getting them to reconnect to the rest of my household Sonos s

It’s been doing this since iOS 14.   Gives the two error messages on the Sonos app - “unable to connect to Sonos” also says “join a nearby Sonos system”.  You can follow these steps but it seems to just forget the Sonos system once again. Had this Sonos system for years and it only started with iOS 14- any ideas?

I signed up for the app, my e-mail is verified and i have an account, but I still can’t play music through the device from Pandora.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.   

I was able to choose my audio source before iPad OS16, but now it seems like if HDMI is connected to the iPad and to the TV, you can’t choose AirPlay for audio source.I’m in a hotel now and wanted my audio to come out from the stereo pairs of the Roam, video from the TV and watch Netflix and sort.Anyone know a way to get around this?I think you can unpair the Roams and connect to 1 of them through Bluetooth, but that doesn’t help a whole lot…

Sonos is the biggest appalling waste of money there is.Having invested in the hardware which is good the software Andy controllers are totally s**t.Always having to update always cutting out now Boeing told to update (pay more) to be sonos 2 compatible and can’t play radio 6 anymore what a Rip offi just want to play music

I have a Control4 system with a multi-room amp running multiple zones of passive in-ceiling speakers. I’d like to add zones to other rooms without running wires. Is it possible to add powered Sonos speakers (like the One or Five) to a Control4 system? I know it can be done with a Port and Passive speakers, but what about powered Wifi speakers?

I am trying to add the Apple Music Service to Sonos on my Mac. I have Apple Music on my iPhone & my iPad. When I go to add Apple Music, I receive the following error: “Apple Music must be added to Sonos from and iOS device or Andriod phone. Then, listen from anywhere, including Mac, Windows, and Kindle.” HOW DO I DO THIS?! What am I missing?! UGH!!!!!  

I can't see my Sonos devices when I open Airplay. I only see my smart TV's and Apple devices.

I’m interested in using an old spare Android phone for a Sonos music library (currently using a MacBook which may or may not be off at any one particular moment). The phone doesn’t have a SIM card but it does have a high-capacity SD card and honestly it would make a great remote paired with a Sonos system. But I’m caught up in the details. I have assigned a static IP to the phone and in the Sonos library configuration, I give the path to the highest-level music folder:\\192.168.1.156\Users\username\Music\local\Sonos asks for the user/pass, which is provided, and then says the computer “192.1681.156” refused to let Sonos connect to it. User/pass is correct. Some guesses: I need to open a port? I need to allow Sonos to connect to the Android? I need to set this up from the Sonos app on the Android? (same result)Any guidance is appreciated, thanks!

I have a long established S1 operated set of speakers. All are S2 compatible except for a Play 5, so I have kept everything at S1. All good so far.I recently purchased a Roam SL, on the understanding that I could set up a parallel system with the Roam SL as an S2 speaker controlled by S2 app, and everything else as S1.However, the reality is that if any S1 speaker is switched on, I get the upgrade dialog in S2 and an "Upgrade now" button and a 'more information' button. I cannot continue to use the S2 app with the Roam SL unless I upgrade other speakers.I would like a way around this as I'm not in the market to spend more on replacing a fully functioning speaker.Also, the narrative on which I made my decision to purchase was based on information provided that said the two systems could co-exist. Nowhere did I read that only one system could be operational at a time.

WBUR donation plea plays every time I begin listening via Tune In. Recent development is unrelated to usual station fundraising. Like clockwork- same line every time. What can I do differently? 

It is an airplay issue.I just bought a new iPhone 14pro with iOS 16.2 yesterday. All the Sonos speakers, Play 5, Sonos one, Beam and a pair of IKEA shelf model can be found clearly in the airplay list but cannot be connected. At the same time all the Sonos devices cannot be connected in Home app. But every speaker works perfect with Sonos S2 App. I’ve called the support service twice. There has been no workable solution yet though I have done all the suggestions offered by support team.But it was strange that all the devices worked perfect with my old iPhone 12pro with same iOS 16.2.My HomePod mini also works perfectly with the new phone.Now my automatic home music system based on Sonos speakers and Apple HomeKit is dead.

Hello all,Ever since updating to the latest stable iOS 16, I have been having a problem where my Sonos/Airplay system keeps dropping to my iPhone when all speakers are connected. I use an iOS Shortcut to automatically connect all my speakers from my iPhone. I have tried: resetting my router, resetting all speakers, removing/adding each speaker to see if one particular speaker was the culprit. I have also changed phones, and the problem persists. The speakers do not drop when some are connected and not others. This problem persists when I do not use the shortcut and manually add the speakers - system still drops.My system consists of: Sonos Arc connected to 2 Sonos Ones and a Sub, 2 IKEA Symfonisk bookshelves, 1 IKEA Symfonisk Picture Frame Speaker, 1 Sonos Roam, and 5 HomePod Minis (2 in stereo pair, another 2 in stereo pair connected via Apple TV). All connect via Airplay. The system was previously working fine.Any idea on a fix? Has anyone been experiencing anything similar? May this

When listening to amazon music hd within the Sonos s2 app ,. the song may continue playing (since I see the playback occurring in the app) but there is no sound.   This has happened a few times in past week.  Also, at times the payback just completely stops.   Now the interesting. thing is If I use the Amazon Music app and use ‘Alexa cast’ to send it to the same Sonos speakers (stereo pair of fives) it works perfectly.  

Odd issue. Having terrible problems with Trueplay in my Cabin (will feature in a future thread) so reset the Two play 5s and Sub. Added them as Cabin, but for some reason the room name keeps changing to Dining room.  Very strange. Change them to Cabin and a few days later they change back.  Diagnostic 1191341600Anyone else experienced this.

I have spotify and sonos and my brother is staying in my house whilst I am away.  I believe he can use his spotify connect to connect to my sonos, but for him to do that will he have to download sonos app and have that so he can control the individual speakers and sounder?  The main problem is I have forgotten my sonos password - and I have it on my phone and mac.  So if i uninstall sonos on both and reinstall (to get a new password), will I loose all my speaker settings and the whole set up? Thank you

I am trying to set up Trueplay and it is saying it cannot perform the test because of other sound interference but there is no other sound in the room. I have turned everything off!  Any ideas please?

when i play an amazon unlimited playlist on sonos, Sonos only loads 500 songs even though the playlists may be 600 or more.

Hi, my S1 app will not update. I get error code 1101. I was on the phone with Sonos for 3 hours but they were not able to resolve and said they would be sending me an email to schedule a call back from level 2 support but I still have not received it. Reaching out to the community for help. App version 11.6.2Thank you.
