Browsing by composer misses many CD’s. Update Music Library Now misses quite a bit of CD’s. Looking for ideas as to why. Browsing by folder reveals all of the CD titles.

All sorts of potential reasons. Why don’t you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of running an update, and call Sonos Support to discuss it?
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution. It certainly should suggest why the update process terminated early.
