Controllers and Music services

Hi everybody,I am using Sonos Amp and using it with App on Phone. I want to ask if my Sonos Account can be shared directly with family members? Can multiple devices sign-in with the same Sonos Account or do I have to add other members under the music streaming service?To clarify, I want when I leave the house, my family members can go to my Sonos Account that is already shared on their device and use Spotify to play.

Plan on purchasing new iPhone 14 Pro next week….How will i Hook the new phone up to my existing sonos arc and sub on my thats connected to my wifi.

I had the same issues before when updating the Controller for Mac, before.  Using macOS Ventura 13.2.1.Tried to update from the software itself, always stops saying error, try again. After 3x the same happens. Found a direct link from Sonos and downloaded 15.1 to my mac. But will not open and function.Grateful again for help please? I can not use my Controller for Mac at present.  

When playing movie or audio the volume slider allows to open settings and a window slides up on the IOS app. Right now only Bass, Treble, and Balance (if applicable). It would be great not to show only the EQ, but the Surround Audio, Height Audio, Sub Audio when it is available since it takes a lot of steps from the settings with the EQ to the settings icon, scrolling down to access the sound settings.

When in the System->Products page and selecting a product it would be great to switch the order of the settings from:Name, Products, Sound, Hardwareinto the following order:Name, Sound, Products, Hardware (switching the order of Products and Sound).This would allow easier access to the sound settings which is more used then the Product settings. Or make the Products and Hardware section able collapse and remember the settings. The Sound Controls are used more often then the product settings.

I moved my play 1 and Play 3 since when I have been unable to reconnect either.I can only use S1 as my phone does not support S2.The reconnection options on S1 are greyed out or are not present making the app useless.It appears that my only option is to purchase a new phone which supports S2 which I have no intention of doing.Should I sell or otherwise dispose of my speakers ?I should add that I have been visiting various outlets seeking advice, over about a three month period, to no avail 

This might be a strange question - I have a record player lined-in to the Sonos Five. Is there anyway to stream the music from the record player, via the Sonos Five, to the Sonos app itself, either on my Iphone or Mac? as if the Sonos app is another Sonos speaker?

I’d like to be able to play on multiple devices via apps like Spotify.Currently, the Spotify app allows me to select to stream to only one device. If I want multiple devices I then need to go to the Sonos app and add the other devices there, and the overall experience is pretty clunky.Having pre-defined groups that are exposed to the Spotify app so that one can stream to a group directly via the Spotify app would be a real improvement.

Are there any mp3 players that have the Sonos 1 app pre-installed?

So I have two paired Play 1’s (no Bluetooth). My music streaming choice is Apple Music (after several years with Deezer). I can’t ❤️ a song on the sonos app but can on the Apple app (using a portable speaker playing straight from the Apple Music app. I find this completely amateur of Sonos for not providing this function, literally every streaming service has this function Unless I am missing something does the Sonos app provide a “love” function on your fav songs that is not immediately visible?

I am still on Sonos S1 because my legacy Sonos speakers are not supported on S2.I have tried to add a music share from my NAS on my home network.  However, after entering the correct path, username, and password, I see “Unable to add the music share \nasxxxxxx\public\music to your music library (900). And, the reason I am trying to add the music share from my NAS is because I received an email from Sonos stating that I won’t be able to play music stored on my phone anymore.Hoping for a solution because I love my Sonos speakers.Panger

I swear this worked for a few days as I tried out the Amazon Music Unlimited free trial, but now the iOS Amazon Music app does not seem to be passing along metadata (artist, song, album art) to the Sonos app. Instead, I just get a grey screen on Sonos with “Started from Amazon Alexa” at the bottom. I did briefly install Alexa on one of my Sonos One’s (and then uninstalled) about the time this started. Anyone have ideas, or seeing the same thing? I’ve removed & re-added speakers to Alexa, disabled and re-enabled the Sonos skill in Alexa….still cannot get the AM app to work properly. Metadata is passed properly with AirPlay casting, and everything is great when started within the Sonos app. Is anyone else having problems with the AM app casting to Sonos speakers?

Hi all,Hoping you can help as I honestly don’t know how to fix! Ever since the recent update of the sonos app, the app won’t connect to my account and therefore no music services. I’ve reset my router, reset the app, re-downloaded but it just keeps saying:It’s connected to the system ok, so can play a song via the Spotify app and control volume & speakers etc via the Sonos app, but can’t login or search for music. It’s very odd as I have perfect Wi-Fi on my phone, I’m currently sending this from my phone….Any and all help appreciated!!Thanks,Stefan

In the sonos s2 application, now it sounds, no information appears regarding the quality that the music is played, I understand that Tidal plays at CD quality but how do I know that this is happening?  

It connecta wifi again only turning the router off and on again.Devices (play1 and roam) are connected (they Play music on pushing physical button) but app is not (whether it is mobile app, mac, PC etc)any ideal? thx

It is setup and shows in the app, but my system still shows connected to my wifi, should it be connected to the boost? And how do I do that?Also, I get random drops while playing music streamed from Apple Music. Sometimes the system will emit what sounds like static for a minute then drop, other times the Playbar will just stop playing, then the One will stop. After a minute or two they come back one at a time, other times I have to tell Alexa to start playing again. I’ve had the internet provider out to check the system, they show no random drops in service.I’m very new to the Sonos system, love the sound! Please help. My fiancée wants to get rid of the system, I’ll get rid of her before I drop Sonos, just need it to work well.Thanks, Briley.

I ran apt-get update and upgrade on my Linux server 20.04 which  runs on a pi earlier in the week. Now my Sonos S1 system is denying access to the SMB shares on it. Does anyone know what changed? My smb.conf is unchanged so I am a bit confused by this.

I got Tmobile WIFI about a month or two ago. I’ve had an ORBI RBR50. I have a Sonos Playbar, Move, and two Ones. I cannot for the life of me get them to stay connected. One or two will randomly connect, then disconnect, but they’ve never all connected at the same time since I got Tmobile. I have spent hours reading on the forums, calling Tmobile (who says to call Sonos), and back and forth. I’ve reset everything, tried hardwiring. Tried connected via SonosNet (which usually shows up grayed out). I’m only slightly techically savvy, so I really need help, otherwise my whole Sonos system is an expensive set of paperweights. Is there something I’m missing?

I’ve asked this before but did not get anywhere…This problem used to NOT be a problem. Everything worked as expected.  This problem just started recently and there were no equipment changes.I have 2 Sonos SL One’s and 1 Roam.  All 3 are grouped.  When I use Alexa and tell her to play a Sirius channel on the group,  it works. All 3 speakers work fine.When I use an iPhone with iOs 16.4 and select AirPlay for playing track, I get a list that shows the phone and the 3 speakers (but not the group). I used to be able to select each of the 3 speakers, they would connect and start playing.  Now, I can select all 3 but only 2 connect. I get a message saying it cannot connect to the other speaker. I’m upgrading to iOs 16.5 but don’t expect any change. Again, this all used to work fine but not now.??????Thanks,Dave

My bf and I have separate homes each with a Sonos system.Sometimes when he’s at his place he mistakenly plays his spotify on my sonos (we’re not sharing wifi… so i guess the only connection is via his phone network). How is this possible ?And more importantly how can I stop it…

Wife and I both have Sonos2 app on iPhones. She starts up app and plays music on system. I start my app after session is going and it won’t sync to what’s being played. I can’t control speakers, pause music, etc. I can change names of speakers and update software for them, etc. Just can’t get to what’s playing now.  

I’ve been noticing lately on my fileserver failed SMB access attempts which I’ve tracked down to two of my Sonos Play:1 speakers.Warning     SMB    Deny SMB1 host (security limitation).    Failed to log inI solely use S2 and the online documentation indicates that Play:1 is supported.https://support.sonos.com/en-us/article/sonos-s2-compatibilityWhy are these speakers still attempting to connect with SMBv1? Do they try v1 and if that fails, try v2, etc?I tried removing all music library shared folders from the S2 application and re-added them; still happening. For my relatives I have been trying to connect in-ceiling Sonos speakers to multiple (2) BR100 bridges, but without any succes. Both BR100 bridges don’t show any light on top, even though I connected them to a power outlet, as well as the UTP/ethernet cables to the router. (the cabled connection works on other devices such as laptops)The connection worked until the router got replaced by a newer one.The new router (a Huawei EG8145V5) supports 802.11ac dual-frequency bands. Could it be that the BR100 doesn’t support this wifi band?As far as I’ve understood, the BR100 is End of Life. Should we get a newer bridge model?Or is there anything else we can do? E.g. do certain router settings need to be applied? As for the in-ceiling speakers I have no idea which model they are, but they worked before with the BR100 on the old router. Also, when checking the Sonos mobile apps, I believe we were unable to find the speakers separately (without the bridge). So presuming they need the bridge (?). M

Hi All,Has anyone had issues with RadioApp suddenly stop working?It was functioning yesterday perfectly fine but my PlayBar stopped and dropped out of connection so I restarted and reconnected but now I cant access RadioApp and get the dreaded “Unable to browse music”I can use every other app for music I have tried so far, just the RadioApp one… Any suggestions? Is this a case for resetting everything and starting again?
