Controllers and Music services

Hi!  I just recognized, that Sonos App 15.3 is not any more able to connect to Apple Music and Amazon Prime services. I deleted the App from my phone (iOS 16.4.1(a)) and re-installed it. Connection to the services is still broken, in addition I get a prompt asking me to logion to enable some new features. Login (to my Sonos account?) fails as well, and I just can keep trying, but have to force quit the app to return to using it. On my Mac the Sonos App continues to work properly in all regards. So I assume, that to has sth to do with the App.

The S2 app shows me duplicate albums, with one of these being the Master version. However neither of them is labelled. How do I know which is the Master Audio version? Is Sonos even able to play the Master versions?

Set up my Sonos arc on borrowed iPhone but I can't connect my android, when I tap on set up new device it says connect mobile to WiFi even though I'm using my data from phone.

Hi, I have a frustrating issue with my Sonos playback when using youtube music for the last two weeks. tracks a skipping with various errors - encoding and lost connection to youtube music. I’ve looked at my 2.4ghz channels on my Ubiquiti UDM Pro and tried 1,6,11 to avoid possible interference. Are you able to review the report for me to assist me in trying to resolve this one please. Diagnostics report - 227265411 CheersRob

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knew of a solution… Up until this morning, when attempting to play Spatial audio tracks via the Sonos app, it showed the Dolby Atmos logo and sounded pretty amazing through the Arc, two surrounds and the sub but now it’s no longer showing the logo.  I’ve tried toggling on / off the spatial audio setting and re installing the app but no luck… any idea? Cheers Steve

Hi there,I currently operate a Sonos Amp controlled through the App on Desktop. The music service is Spotify Premium.I'm deploying a new Sonos Amp to a different region (different time zone from the one above). With this Sonos Amp, I want to control it through the App on the user's Phone.Can I use the same Sonos account for both Users in each Time zone to use it together? (Of course each side will control its own Amp)If not, please suggest me other solutions,Best regards.

We have Spotify Premium Duo, which includes two accounts with different username/passwords.But when we use the Sonos 2 app, in our home 5.1 surround livingroom to listen to music, all my private playlists and recent played songs etc. shows up on my partners Sonos 2 app.I don’t want my partner to see what songs or other audio and playlists I have created or listened to.And actually, I have an old Sonos setup too in my office, which is where I play most of my Spotify playlists (that room use the old Sonos app). I don’t tend to use our Sonos 2 system for music apart from on a Saturday night, rest of the time I only use our Sonos system for TV/Netflix.So, how do I:Block/stop my Spotify Playlists / private listen activities and recent played songs etc. show up on my partners iPhone when we both use the Sonos 2 app on our phones? I want my Spotify things to only show on my Phone, not on my partners. I don’t want to see her Spotify activities either of course.  Thanks,CatDad 

Sonos app don't find the tcl 65c825 remote, can not par it. I can only use the remote when I have the hdmi connected at an arc port. And the TV most be on, use an app.If I turn off the TV can't use the controller or use the sonos with mine pc /mobile, the TV controller does not work.Can someone help me please. I think I need to return it to sonos, because this is very disappointing by sonos.Regards Lars Olav Tungesvik

I have several TuneIn radio stations saved in My Sonos. Recently, when I try to change from one station to another, I’ll see the icon at the bottom of the app change to the new station but the audio stays at the old station Reselecting the new station usually switches over the audio. anyone else have this problem or (hopefully) a solution?

Hi,  I’ve purchased some Sonos products (three room groups) to use at our family cabin. There are four families that stay there, one family at a time. Some are Sonos believers and some (hopefully) are future enthusiasts. There is wifi with internet, password protection that is available to everyone.I’m looking for feedback regarding the simplest configuration that will allow each family to use the system during their stay, using their own streaming services without seeing others accounts. My thoughts so far… Create an email account for the house (comcast) and use that to create a Sonos account with a password we can share. This way nobody’s personal email and passwords are used.    Suggest each family download the Sonos app.     They can either add or remove their streaming apps to the sonos account or they can stream from services like Spotify or Amazon Music (?). If they stream directly from Spotify I believe they still benefit from using the Sonos app to control volumes and groups s

Hi everyone, it’s been asked often, but I couldn’t find the answer. Since yesterday sonos can’t access my Synology NAS. “Access to the shared folder is denied - check the username and/or password.”SMB1 is clicked, as is NTLMv1 authentication. Using the controller S1, but same problem when accessing via windows pc. //NAS/music or \\NAS\music//192.168.1.11/music (and also back-slashes), all don’t work and give me the same error message.  Can anyone help?Thanks! I am writing this as a some what measure after spending almost 2hrs on the phone with 2 different customer service people.  The first was helpful but didn’t resolve the issue, the 2nd was absolutley uesless and dismissive. Wow. The short… I’ve had sonos for years, I have a large DB of songs that have played fine.  But after updating to 15.3 its a fire in the whole.  For me the problem seems random.  I can see and play most of my songs but many indicate that they are “not encoded correctly”.  Also MANY of the songs don’t even show up in search, even though they are only my NAS and can be played if accessed directly.    I’ hav deleted files, and uploaded new versions and nothing gives.  Its just random and thats the worst part about it!  My song collection is largely from CD rips and purchases from various sites.  I do not use apple.music.   The punch line… all of this was a none-issue before upgrading to 15.3I have an open ticket number #[removed] and I would appereciate any help that y

Hi added the play 1 gen 1 to S1 app I have added sonos radio but when you search again for music it just hangs 

Browsing by composer misses many CD’s. Update Music Library Now misses quite a bit of CD’s. Looking for ideas as to why. Browsing by folder reveals all of the CD titles.What S2 shows. Last 2 items not in Beethoven folder.Directory listing of Beethoven folder as stored on NAS 

Within the past week all Sonos and Spotify functions have stopped working on all my iOS devices - iPhone 12 and MacBook Pro.In Sonos any station or music I try to play gives an “unable to connect” message.In Spotify I can see all the devices (speakers; PlayBar, Play 5, Connect) and can play directly on the iPhone or MacBook, but when I try to connect to a device (speaker) it shows “connecting” but never connects.Router has been restarted several times. Both Sonos and Spotify apps have been deleted and reinstalled, all to no effect.Help please? Thank you!

I just picked up a Sonos 3 at a yard sale for my son. Should he download the S1 or S2 app? He’s currently also running a pair on One SL’s 

This is something I’ve been meaning to ask for a long time. When I go to My Sonos and then SONGS, it just plays one at a time. It would be way better if it played them all, like a Playlist. I’m probably doing something wrong and if anyone has any info I’d really appreciate it. 

If my wife uploads the app as well, does she need to create a new account or does she use my login and password?

I click Log in to try new functions, and it consistently gives me the Let's try that again error. I CAN see what's currently playing on the Sonos (playing via Bluetooth). So the app can definitely connect to the network. I have the same problem on two different Sonos systems. So the problem is likely with my phone (iOS 16.4.1). Another person's phone works fine, again pointing to a pointing to a problem with my phone. What I have already tried:Uninstall and reinstall the app, deleting all data and connecting to the existing Sonos system. All worked but connecting to the Sonos service.Reset app.Restart router.Restart Sonos. Any ideas? Thanks!   

HiI noticed recently some changes in the SearchSome results won’t be showing in Sonos search, such as Youtube Music.How to reproduce:Use old (classic) Search “frozen” in the Sonos App, in section Youtube Music “Frozen(Original Motion Picture Sountrack” and among others cannot be found at all in the “Album” section If use the new Search feature, the result won’t show up at all, it says “no result” I’ve also attached the search result on Youtube Music official website (for comparison reference)Please find all screenshots attached.Youtube music search result shows Frozen (Original Motion Picture Sountrack) New Search won’t show any results for “frozen” Old(Classic) Search only shows partial result  Moderator edit - picture removed due to bad language. I am unable to log in and/or add product to my account.  I’m able to play music to existing Sonos products, but continue to get “Let’s try again…your phone may not be connected to the internet or your internet may be out.”    it’s not, I’m connected and it’s working fine.  Wife’s phone can connect and add product.  Please help, this is driving me crazy 

Why isn’t there a song radio function for Tidal in the Sonos app. I used Spotify for a long time, they have one and it’s such a nice feature...

Hi, if I’m not wrong, it was once possible to search a connected local music library using the Sonos 1 controller. Currently, search functionality works only for connected services like Spotify. This is a real bummer of a limitation. Is there any way to revert back to the more comprehensive search index?I read something on the Web saying it was possible to choose between “classic” and “new” search, but that ship seems to have sailed.Is there any way to go back to classic search, assuming that’s the way to search a local music library? 

I have a brand new Arc.  While trying to set up Trueplay, most times I can complete the sitting portion, but have yet to be able to set up the walking portion.  Indicates there is too much noise.  There is no noise - AC is off, all appliances are off, my dog is in the other room, etc.  Two of us have tried to do it - one barefoot, the other wearing socks.  We’ve walked the room, we’ve stood still in front of the speaker (less than 3ft away), etc.  We are moving the iPhone slower than in the video and walking slower.  iPhone 13Pro without a case.  Have blown out the iPhone mic with air to clean it.  Have rebooted phone and reset speaker. The room is large and has a high ceiling and is mostly tile floor.  The representative yesterday could only tell me to move the phone slower - which again is being moved slower than in the video.  Today we even tried just standing in front of the speaker without moving the phone and it stopped the echoing because there wasn’t enough vertical movement.
