Controllers and Music services

I have not been able to update what I think are the last two updates to the Sonos S1 controller on my macbook pro. I click on update now (in the black S1 pane), it does some things and requires my password. I do that and it says: Sonos update failed. An unexpected error occurred, please try again. And that happens every time. (So while the error is unexpected to Sonos, it is very much expected by me). This seems like a longlasting bug (several months). Is there a fix?

Anyone know how to play music stored on an iPad through Sonos Play 1 and 3 speakers that do not have Bluetooth?

My SONOS system is ~old:  Play:5; Play:3; SONOS One (Gen 1); SONOS Connect (Gen 1) [connected to Onkyo TX-RZ50 w/Klipsch tower, sub, ceiling, wall speakers; [plus a SONOS Bridge no longer being used].  So I'm pretty "stuck" with using the S1 (Android) Phone App.  I've wished for a physical app to use with this principally for QUICK access as a system "mute" (or "pause") for phone calls, doorbell, someone walks into the room, etc.  Plus, Volume Up/Down control nice, but not required.  I understand IKEA's SYMFONISK remote might be able to do this, though it requires a smart hub.  IKEA sells the SYMFONISK remote in a bundle with their DIRIGERA hub.  Can anyone tell me whether this IKEA SYMFONISK/DIRIGERA combo will control my SONOS S1 products without the necessity of my also needing to buy any SYMFONISK/SONOS speakers?  

With the release of iOS 17s interactive Home Screen widgets I think it’s time for Sonos to get on that no?

When I try to play any music on Apple Music I am told by the controller that it cannot play the music as there is not enough bandwidth and that I need to check my internet connection. However, the app works fine with Amazon Prime music and the Apple Music app plays fine with Apple Music. So there seems to be some misconnection between Sonos and my network connection. Changing networks, trying a different Mac, varying network settings etc does not change the situation: no Apple Music. Any thoughts on what’s happening and what I need to do to fix the problem? 

I have 2 play 1's and a connect in my system.  I will be playing music through the sonos app (S1) streaming spotify - when the volume just skyrockets.  I try and push it back, or pause the music.  And it is though someone else is moving the volume controls. Remotely.I know it sounds weird.  But it has happened a few times.I did a diagnostic report.  I checked to see if there was any other devices on my home network. Nope.Sonos help suggested that it had to be someone else with my login, or on my wifi login.  I have not given out either.  I changed my wifi name, password.  Changed sonos userpassword.It happened again today. I read about the 2022 hack, and have the latest Sonos update for the S1 app.Any ideas? Any way to combat this? 

Since upgrading to the new Iphone 15 running ios 17.0.2 I cannot use Trueplay - message states Trueplay tuning coming soon!It was fine on my Iphone 12 which was running ios 16.Any thoughts on this being a Sonos or Apple issue and when to expect a solution? 

We use the BBC Sounds app as an alarm every morning, recently the audio will play for an amount of time before dropping out. It will pick up again for a few seconds before dropping again. I’ve tried rebooting, updating and we use a Boost so the products are on a SonosNet. I submitted a diagnostic Any help would be very appreciated! Peter Moderator Edit: Removed diagnostics number from the post

I’ve been chasing this S2 app issue for months (years?), with most of my time spent optimizing my Unifi network settings, using SonosNet and not, etc. Lately, the issue has been plaguing my phone but not my ipad, and I just had an Aha moment. I toggled off cellular, and my speakers appeared instantly! I then toggled off cellular access to the Sonos app, and so far the app is running fine. Fingers crossed this is the final hurdle for me. Wondering if anyone else can reproduce this issue. Sure seems like a bug to me. Cheers, Stephen

Hello. I am currently unable to play any track in my Plex music library through my Sonos S1 system. I can see and browse music fine, but all playback attempts fail with the message shown the title. Today, I’m accessing standard Spotify playlists in Sonos (Mac app) and there are weird entries in the playlist. Apologies for the miserably bad red lines around the issues.

Just updated to 15.6 on S2. The playlists on my iPhone are gone, the Desktop controller still displays them. What's up, Sonos?

Hi. Been using Alexa to “play music” on Sonos beam (connected to two Ones and a sub) using my Apple Music subscription   worked fine for years but now no matter what I ask it only ever plays one song and stops  tried asking Alexa to play Amazon music  same issue I’ve disconnected all apps  rebooted  signed in and out etc  but nothing works one song is all I get  Very annoying and the dog doesn’t get his chill music playlist while we are out   any ideas?  

Music stops mid song and a new song starts and stops mid song and a new song starts. This started a few days ago, it has never happen with Sonos 2 but does happen often with Sonos 1. How do i fix it?

I have a bunch of playlists which combine mp3s and amazon music songs. The mp3s were stored on my PC, and are referenced using the windows pc name, however that computer is now dead and I don't intend to replace it. I want to move the songs locally, and bulk update the location of the mp3s in the playlists so that the playlist remains in tact, but Sonos can now find the songs. I know I can reimport the songs from a local folder, but assume that my playlists will remain broken if I do that and I want to avoid having to manually recreate them.

My Living Room setup is pretty simple. I have a Playbar, Sub and two Play 1’s. When I set up the system I added first the Playbar, then the Sub and then each Play 1. I assigned the Playbar and Sub to Living Room no problem. When I added the Play 1’s they were assigned to Living Room 2. They are paired. I realize I can create a group to combine them and have all 4 speakers work but is there a way to “drag” the speakers so they’re in only one Living Room? My OCD wants everything nice and neat. One Kitchen, one Dining Room, and just one Living Room. Thanks!

When I connect to the app everything seems ok I can see my system , however when I play music it only allows me to play the last song I played and if I try to play anything from Amazon music it is unable to add to the que and there is an error code 1001 , if you are playing a song the only one I can if you turn the volume up or down on the app the slider works but the volume on the song stays the same , then after 10 seconds the volume changes on its own there seems to be a lag , I’m on fibre broadband any help I’ve updated my system to the latest software and I did a reboot . 

Does the Sonos AMP allow you to stream music and use the RCA line in simultaneously?

We have constant issues with our Sonos speakers. When we come in in the morning, one in three times the app (installed on the work computers) cannot connect to the speaker. When we do manage to reset the speaker and reconnect, often the queue will skip over songs or play the first twenty or so seconds of a song then skip over. I have an updated (current version) of sonos on my HP desktop and on my I phone. I have been trying to add my Apple I-Tunes library to my desktop Sonos app and I cannot make it connect and work.

Have been having no luck connecting to Audible through sonos for a few days now.  On Android, started getting “unable to browse music - there was a problem connecting to Audible” errors whenever I tried to view the audible library through sonos.  Audible app was working fine on the phone, no network issues, sonos devices connected wired to router, other streaming services playing with no issues. Tried reauthorising the audible service through the sonos interface, would get a series of errors:“Check your network connection.  There was a problem getting started.  Please check your network connection, then try again.  If the problem persists and your network connection is working, please try again later” Would click “try again” multiple times, eventually the app would kick through to a chrome window, again internet fi

It's actually unbelievable.I've never not had issues with it. From the app failing to open properly or update or connect to the Internet, to not being able to find items. Now I'm trying to add a sub and it tells me it can't verify the app that I updated within the last week. There is literally always something going wrong. Do you even have a UX team? Sack them all if so

Seems WD has changed its settings and unlike earlier, cannot be added via “Services” and now has to be added via “Music Library” and the path defined. Been at it for a while but no success.Anyone else facing this issue. FYI, IM using a Sonos Connect and S1. Accessing via MAC OS and iPhone. Cheers Shah
