Is there a Sonos product, which can plug into my home network and tune-in Sonos content, be controlled by the Sonos app, and stream music TO Airplay-ready amplifiers and receivers on the same network?
Hello! I’m using a Sonos Port since 6 months with my Denon AVR 1100w. Everything was going fine until a recent update (the one who added the new search bar). Since then, i’m exerpiencing many bugs : music stops, sonos port is lost… and I have to unplugg / plug again the device to get it working again.I tried a total reset of the Sonos port but it didn’t change anything. My Sonos Port is wired to a switch, wired to an Eero Pro 6 (Mesh, backhaul to my main Eero Pro).Other devices connected to the switch are working great, and I’ve done a port reservation for my Sonos device… Thank you so much for your help!
Problems connecting NAS to a Sonos Port StreamerI have just replaced my failing Sonos Connect with a Sonos Port and updated the Sonos App to S2 on all my devices.I cannot make the Sonos Port add the NAS music folder to its music library.I assume the issue is with the NAS configuration! But the Sonos Connect worked for many years so the Port should!Would anybody have any ideas? NAS is QNAP TS-119P+ QTS 4.3.3.2211 build 20221124 system port 8080The NAS has a static IP of 192.168.0.250The Sonos Port is connected via an ethernet cable not WiFi.The music is at \\192.168.0.250\Multimedia\Music I have the Sonos S2 App on;a windows 10 laptop fully updatediPad pro,Android phone, I have been reading pages on the net and in this forum.SMB comes up a lot but...I can't find any mention of SMB in the QNAP software.in the NETWORK & FILE SERVICES section under Win/Mac/Nfs Enable files services is checked,Standalone serve is selected under advanced options there is no SMB box to
Is there any negative in installing the ceiling speakers in a wall? My wall location is pretty high so I want to tilt the speakers down somewhat. Thanks!
Hello- I currently have a sonos soundbar, sub and 2 one sls in my living room. I'm about to add an amp and two outdoor speakers. When I hook them up, should I keep the amp and outdoor speakers seperate from the sound bar/inside speakers? Or should I hook them all together? My concern is that I want the inside speakers to play what's on the TV, while being able to stream music outside. But, would I also be able to occasionally be able to play the same music inside and outside?First world problems, lol.
I just bought the Sonos port and the Onkyo receiver TX-NR696 because it is compatible with Sonos, but can’t seem to get it to work. I have followed all of the set up required by Onkyo and changed the setting correctly. The set is through the CD on the back of the receiver just like every video I watch suggest. The best I have got is when I switch the line out level to Pass-Through on the Sonos app and it was just garbled noise, but It was the song I had playing… and now not even that working. I also bought 4 Sonos One speakers thinking I could be listening to all Sonos speakers through out my house while also listening through my current surround sound speakers as well. At this point it seems I have wasted my money up buying the Onkyo receiver and all of the Sonos products. Nothing is working like it should it seems. Can someone please help me figure this out… I’m stumped. Scott
Hi! I have a question about the connection of Sonos Sub gen 3 with the Sonos Amp. I have a pair of Architectural In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos install in my kitchen and they are connected to a Sonos Amp with speaker wire.I want to add the Sonos Sub gen 3 to this setup. Can I connect the sub with an Ethernet cable instead of using the RCA cable.1: Ethernet cable from the sub to the rooter.Or2: Ethernet cable form the sub to the Sonos Amp.I understand that the Sonos Amp need to be connected as well by an Ethernet cable on my rooter. Thank you for your knowledge.
I have Port connected to a turntable & I am finding it the most confusing, clumsy & inconsistent device.I don’t know if I have installed it the wrong way or if I am not understanding how to use it, especially to output to different rooms and speakers. It is driving me totally nuts.‘Listen in every and any room’ they say. Not likely!Example - I have a pair of Era 100s and a Sub Mini set-up as the turntable listening system. These are all wifi connected. I start the turntable running, select Port as the source and then press play and it works (although inexplicably it often cuts out play when you turn the record over, you have to press play again…)In my main living area I have Arc, Sub and a pair of One SLs connected to the TV.If I try to add that room as an output… nothing. The audio from the TV continues, it doesn’t switch to the different source, if I try with the TV switched off… nothing. This doesn’t happen with other sources such as streaming from my iPhone or iMac or playin
Hi - getting a little frustrated here, so hoping someone may be able to help.I’ve had a boost for a while which basically allows me to connect my Play:1 on our terrace to the rest of the system. I recently discovered it had been unplugged, which explains why the terrace speaker wasn’t working. Now, I don’t seem to be able to reconnect the Boost. I have tried all the rebooting/factory reset tips, but my app tells me that it is not connected (with the red dot). When I tap through to get it connected, I am told that ‘all products seem available’ and then that ‘your products are connected’, despite still saying the the Boost is not connected.I would be hugely grateful if anyone can help in any way. Many thanks in advance, Jez
HiI play vinyl over my Sonos system using a turntable connected to a Sonos Port (with a phono pre-amp in between).I’m trying to find a component to connect into the setup (possibly via the Port’s outputs?) that would allow me to rip the vinyl wirelessly.Ideally the new setup would look like:Turntable line output → Sonos Port → {mystery component} → WiFi network → PC (with ripping software)I’ve been looking at AudioPro Link2 as a possible solution but can’t tell if that will give me what I’m looking for.Anyone have any experience of something like this? Many thanks.Ian
I have recently moved house and my Playbar is emitting a high pitch noise constantly when no music is played. Gutted to say the least! Been more than impressed with it until.it has randomly started outputting this fault. Anyone know a fix or how to contact Sonos support?
Hello, we have a problem with our sonos amp. When we are playing music from Spotify etc. he on random moments stops playing. Amp is connected with cable to internet. We moved device to other location and problem is same. We tried factory defaults and firmware upgrade but nothing help. Can I please for some tips, what should we check. Thanks
Hi,I want to temporarily use my Sonos Amp in a place where there is no WIFI. The location means I cannot set up a Mobile Hotspot. The set-up needs to be robust, it would be bad if I lost the music. Is this possible? Ideally I would connect my phone to the Sonos Amp with cables, controlling the music (which is already on the phone) using the phone itself. Help appreciated please!
My iPhone w adaptor linked to AudioQuest Firefly sounds very good using line in settings. Question is the recommended Source Level to set the Sonos Amp “source level” in the Sonos app. Louder with higher levels but also harsher to my ears. 2.1 millivolts I believe output on the firefly. thanks ahead of time
I have an old TV outside that is connected to my speakers outside via an AMP. This TV doesn’t have ARC support so I have an audio extractor to connect to my AMP. It also won’t throughout CEC to my AMP so I have an IR repeater to connect to the AMP. It worked flawlessly on initial setup but now my IR connection is routinely dropped and won’t work. Everything else works great. The ONLY issue is the IR connection. I’ve seen several post about IR issues from Sonos stuff (mainly the Beam but I’ve seen a few issues with AMP too). Is this something that is going to be addressed?Im positive this is a firmware issue. yes I have done every trouble shoot. It is not my remote (batteries new, etc etc). It is not my repeater (it works extremely well and I can reproduce the issue even when lint my remote directly at the AMP in my AV room). I’ve reduced any interference possible by completely covering the IR sensor with tape but with the transmitter under that and facing it. I can get the AMP to
I’m trying to connect a pair of Sonos Play:1 to a turntable with a Connect. What am I doing wrong? The turntable is connected to a preamp, and the preamp is connected to the Connect. How do I get the Connect to “see” the pair of Play:1 and send the music to the speakers?
I am a Sonos user and LOVE my 5’s, 1’s and other Sonos gear. We are building a new home and plan on putting in Sonos wired in-ceiling architectural speakers back to an AV closet with Sonos Amps. We would like to do the same outside for the covered patio. Are the in-celing speakers capable of being installed outdoors in a covered patio, able to withstand temperatures and possibly the elements, or is the only way to do this is to purchase the outdoor set that are installed with a bracket. Any experience out there on this design?
Hi, I have a connect:amp, and a bunch of ones and play3s. The amp is 4 years old, and recently started losing connection. I've followed the instructions and it reconnects. My google wifi shows 'great connection' to the amp. Is the amp starting to fail, or is this a software issue? is there anything I can check? the play3s are on the same access point, but a little closer (none are more than ~30 feet), and haven't had the problem. Thanks
I have a Port, Sub, Beam and two One’s. Port is connected via cable. Everything else is WiFi.The Port gets “lost” on a regular basis and has to be found. Quite annoying. When opening the app wouldn’t it be good if both devices (Beam, Port) showed up on the Home Screen for regulating volume, etc.The UI for selecting music is clunky. I believe selecting the device then the source/device would be more intuitive rather then the opposite.Regards.
My system still lists a Bridge. I am pretty sure that’s in a landfill somewhere. (We’ve moved houses since...it hasn’t been connected in more than a decade.) How do I delete it?
Hello,I have a Sonos amp that I would like to use the RCA Sub output to connect to a 3rd party powered Amp. I would like to split the signal and feed 2 discreet inputs and feed the subs independently with the same signal. Will this work with this setup considering the low pass filter on the Sonos amp when the connection is detected? Thanks
I have a Sonos system set up at home - play1, play5 and a beam. I recently purchased a Sonos port to play my record player through the system. Setup was easy however every time I select line in and play the record player my play1 and play 5 disappear from my system and I can only play the record player (via the Sonos port) through my beam. It causes my play 1 and 5 to disappear altogether from my system and I have to go back and add them. I’ve done a full factory reset on all products and still the same issue. Any ideas on how to fix?
I am giving up my 50 year old dorm room style audio setup on my TV. Too many remotes.I already have an Amp for another application and I would like to get one to power a pair of passive speakers for my TV and its other HDMI connected sources. Right now, I am using optical out of the an older TV to my older receiver. I am willing to replace the TV and want to eliminate the receiver.Unfortunately, newer TVs (like Samsung) have fewer HDMI inputs and I don’t want to tie one up with HDMI ARC to the Amp. I also want to control the volume from the TV and its HDMI inputs with the TV remote. I know I can use the optical output from my TV with the Sonos optical to HDMI ARC converter but I am not sure if that connection includes volume control. Right now, I am getting a fixed level to my receiver and have to control the volume with it.I have spent several happy hours researching and I can’t find an answer to my question. I’m not going to buy a new TV just to see if it works.
I am trying to setup Alexa to control my AMP's. But the AMP's report back to alexa that they are controlling a TV. Even when there is no HDMI cable plugged in and the setting for the AMP has "TV Autoplay" turned off. Is there any way to get the AMPs to NOT report an attached TV?
This is a pre-sale question.I have a Denon AVR-X520BT amp connected to an Apple TV 4K and LG laser projector.I have all this in the back of the room and at 6 m I have the projector screen, I wanted to put a SONOS sound system, but my question is how to connect it to the system, since the sound bar could not connect it to the amplifier or to the Apple TV, I understand that the only way would be via Wi-Fi, is there another way to do it?
