My iPhone w adaptor linked to AudioQuest Firefly sounds very good using line in settings. Question is the recommended Source Level to set the Sonos Amp “source level” in the Sonos app. Louder with higher levels but also harsher to my ears. 2.1 millivolts I believe output on the firefly. thanks ahead of time
I have an old TV outside that is connected to my speakers outside via an AMP. This TV doesn’t have ARC support so I have an audio extractor to connect to my AMP. It also won’t throughout CEC to my AMP so I have an IR repeater to connect to the AMP. It worked flawlessly on initial setup but now my IR connection is routinely dropped and won’t work. Everything else works great. The ONLY issue is the IR connection. I’ve seen several post about IR issues from Sonos stuff (mainly the Beam but I’ve seen a few issues with AMP too). Is this something that is going to be addressed?Im positive this is a firmware issue. yes I have done every trouble shoot. It is not my remote (batteries new, etc etc). It is not my repeater (it works extremely well and I can reproduce the issue even when lint my remote directly at the AMP in my AV room). I’ve reduced any interference possible by completely covering the IR sensor with tape but with the transmitter under that and facing it. I can get the AMP to
I’m trying to connect a pair of Sonos Play:1 to a turntable with a Connect. What am I doing wrong? The turntable is connected to a preamp, and the preamp is connected to the Connect. How do I get the Connect to “see” the pair of Play:1 and send the music to the speakers?
I am a Sonos user and LOVE my 5’s, 1’s and other Sonos gear. We are building a new home and plan on putting in Sonos wired in-ceiling architectural speakers back to an AV closet with Sonos Amps. We would like to do the same outside for the covered patio. Are the in-celing speakers capable of being installed outdoors in a covered patio, able to withstand temperatures and possibly the elements, or is the only way to do this is to purchase the outdoor set that are installed with a bracket. Any experience out there on this design?
Hi, I have a connect:amp, and a bunch of ones and play3s. The amp is 4 years old, and recently started losing connection. I've followed the instructions and it reconnects. My google wifi shows 'great connection' to the amp. Is the amp starting to fail, or is this a software issue? is there anything I can check? the play3s are on the same access point, but a little closer (none are more than ~30 feet), and haven't had the problem. Thanks
I have a Port, Sub, Beam and two One’s. Port is connected via cable. Everything else is WiFi.The Port gets “lost” on a regular basis and has to be found. Quite annoying. When opening the app wouldn’t it be good if both devices (Beam, Port) showed up on the Home Screen for regulating volume, etc.The UI for selecting music is clunky. I believe selecting the device then the source/device would be more intuitive rather then the opposite.Regards.
My system still lists a Bridge. I am pretty sure that’s in a landfill somewhere. (We’ve moved houses since...it hasn’t been connected in more than a decade.) How do I delete it?
Hello,I have a Sonos amp that I would like to use the RCA Sub output to connect to a 3rd party powered Amp. I would like to split the signal and feed 2 discreet inputs and feed the subs independently with the same signal. Will this work with this setup considering the low pass filter on the Sonos amp when the connection is detected? Thanks
I have a Sonos system set up at home - play1, play5 and a beam. I recently purchased a Sonos port to play my record player through the system. Setup was easy however every time I select line in and play the record player my play1 and play 5 disappear from my system and I can only play the record player (via the Sonos port) through my beam. It causes my play 1 and 5 to disappear altogether from my system and I have to go back and add them. I’ve done a full factory reset on all products and still the same issue. Any ideas on how to fix?
I am giving up my 50 year old dorm room style audio setup on my TV. Too many remotes.I already have an Amp for another application and I would like to get one to power a pair of passive speakers for my TV and its other HDMI connected sources. Right now, I am using optical out of the an older TV to my older receiver. I am willing to replace the TV and want to eliminate the receiver.Unfortunately, newer TVs (like Samsung) have fewer HDMI inputs and I don’t want to tie one up with HDMI ARC to the Amp. I also want to control the volume from the TV and its HDMI inputs with the TV remote. I know I can use the optical output from my TV with the Sonos optical to HDMI ARC converter but I am not sure if that connection includes volume control. Right now, I am getting a fixed level to my receiver and have to control the volume with it.I have spent several happy hours researching and I can’t find an answer to my question. I’m not going to buy a new TV just to see if it works.
I am trying to setup Alexa to control my AMP's. But the AMP's report back to alexa that they are controlling a TV. Even when there is no HDMI cable plugged in and the setting for the AMP has "TV Autoplay" turned off. Is there any way to get the AMPs to NOT report an attached TV?
This is a pre-sale question.I have a Denon AVR-X520BT amp connected to an Apple TV 4K and LG laser projector.I have all this in the back of the room and at 6 m I have the projector screen, I wanted to put a SONOS sound system, but my question is how to connect it to the system, since the sound bar could not connect it to the amplifier or to the Apple TV, I understand that the only way would be via Wi-Fi, is there another way to do it?
It’s a much discussed topic here how some audio receivers add a delay to music from a Sonos Port. I use a Port to send a signal to my Marantz AV7704. The Marantz then sends a signal to my Macintosh Amp which powers the speakers in my living room. Due to the processing done by the Marantz, a slight, but annoying, delay is introduced to the music coming out of the speakers attached to the Marantz when compared to the rest of my Sonos system throughout my house. The rest of my house is mostly in-ceiling speakers powered by Sonos amps.A common answer is for me to put the Marantz into “direct” mode. If the Marantz doesn’t have to process the music, no delay is added. But I think this is a poor answer. The processing in all the non-direct modes makes the sound of the music so much better I guess it’s too hard for Sonos to allow us to add a delay to the rest of our Sonos system so the whole house will be synced up to the delayed room. Else they would have done this. So given that Soson
Anyone successfully hooked up A-series Emotiva Amp(s) to multi-room Sonos Ports?
Using Sonos Connect as a streamer (digital output) in a DAC amp, why can't I play 96 khz files ?My DAC can easily convert this file format but Sonos Controller tells me it’s not possible ….
Does anyone know where I can source a connect gen 2?
Was enjoying music on several zones, via old connect:amp, and hooked up newer connect in pool house for spring; did an update to pool house connect and now no connect:amps or Play 5 are showing up in Sonos S1 controller. I have S2 on my phone to control music at other locations but use S1 at home.
I'd like to be able to EQ my turntable and have it set differently than the normal EQ settings I have going through my beam 2 and surrounds while watching TV or streaming music. My first issue is that when I add the Connect to the TV room it creates a separate TV Room 2. I'd like to just add it to the existing room but it doesn't seem possible. When music is playing via turntable to connect to tv room setup, the EQ with the Connect doesn't do anything for the sound. It is only when I go to the speakers playing the music, tv room, I can change EQ settings. Id like to just have something set for the turntable as it needs a little more bass and don't want to have to change EQ settings when switching back to TV. Basically TV Room 2 EQ doesn't work at all.Can I just add the connect to the TV Room? Can I have a separate EQ setting just for the connect/turntable only, that will play music in my TV room setup? My setup is aTV RoomBeam Gen 2Surrounds SL gen 2TV Room 2Turntable into Sonos Connect Ge
Interested if others have experienced problems with grouping speakers and Sonosnet I have 3 Rooms with Stereo Speakers + Sub (2 with S1+Sub, 1 with S5+sub). Another 2 rooms with single Play 1’s. Speakers are initially on Sonosnet via a Boost. When I group all speakers to the S5+Sub room and Music has started, I then advance to the next song. The S5+Sub plays new song fairly quickly, but the 2 S1+sub rooms start and stop playing intermittently. Sometime L or R only. After about 1-1.5min, all speakers are playing as expected in the group. Advance to next song same problem repeats. If I wait till the song end and then normal advance to next song, all speakers generally are in sync fairly quickly. (Diagnostic 857677570 whilst sputtering sounds (eg. L then R then ..., then no audio, then L then eventually all speakers playing), then Diagnostic 1865270988 when sound is stable - in case Sonos are watching) Disconnect Sonos and wait till all speakers are on local WiFi.Start a group ses
I currently own a Sonos Amp Gen 2 and the Sonos by Sonance speaker pair (OUTDRWW1). I’m now going to be installing a new cedar ceiling on my outdoor porch and thought it is a good time to see if an upgrade is in order. I see there are these new MAG Sonance speakers:https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sonance-mago6sysv3-mag-series-2-0-ch-outdoor-speaker-system-powered-by-sonos-each-paintable-white/6438662.p?skuId=6438662 As well as these in-ceiling speakers by Sonance:https://www.sonos.com/en-ca/shop/ceiling-speaker-pair?gclid=CjwKCAjwitShBhA6EiwAq3RqA-5GNADYZzhh45rIOWrWBUWnxwbJdAQ-F67qLYPP4ngIcDSvyJLNOxoC1-oQAvD_BwE&utm_medium=cpc&gclsrc=aw.ds&utm_term=PRODUCT_GROUP&utm_content=GGL_CA_EN_SONOS_B_PLA_SHOPPING_SMART-ALL_360i&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=GGL_CA_EN_SONOS_B_PLA_SHOPPING_SMART-ALL_360iI’m even open to installing four of the in-ceiling ones spread over the porch ceiling instead of just two.Would that provide a further sonic improvement? I think I read that
I have been thinking about this for quite some time. Not everyone is solely SONOS or Audiophile-grade components. However, SONOS plays in an upper scale price point for casual-listening of music and does so very well. That same household might have a higher-end network streamer like the NAD C700 which is a streamer/amplifier with speaker outputs in a room more dedicated to music. How would one connect these two concepts and play the same music everywhere? Without a SONOS Port adding $500 to the budget? The idea is to play higher res and MQA files in the “listening” room and send the same audio stream to SONOS the system to play at 24-bit/44 kHz …Impossible? Ideas? Thoughts? Solutions?
My ZP90 keeps flashing white and does not show up in S1 anymore. I had run an update which completed downloading to the unit but got stuck at unit "restart" with light flashing white for a few days. I tried plugging off and on and tried reset by holding the mute button but light just keeps flashing as soon as I plug in power. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks!
I wanted to know three things?1-how many Sonos ceiling speakers can I install?2-do they need to be hardwired to the amp or can they connect with Bluetooth or WiFi?3- can the amp handle multiple zones? For example speakers in dinning room only or dinning room and bedroom only?
So I have my new Sonos/Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable set up through Connect. Line -In Autoplay set to play when the needle drops, to the correct room, etc. My problem is, sometimes Autoplay doesn’t Autoplay. There is no sound coming through speakers. I have to push Play/Pause on the Connect and then I hear. Also, sometimes when all is good and I group rooms, it goes back to silent and I have to push Play/Pause again to get sound.Play/Pause is not a button I use or want to use. It’s just the only thing that fixes this.Any idea why I’m getting the silence? Is something triggering pause? Why doesn’t Autoplay work all the time? I’m also getting slips in the grouped rooms. Any advice on this? Why can’t this just work? Is Connect just too old a technology? Thanks guys.
Can I get a wireless guitar system to connect directly to my Sonos amp?
