I have a Connect: Amp S2 and it drops connection every few days. It’s about 10 feet from the Wifi access point. I’ve rebooted it a few times. Thanks for any help.
Hi, so I bought my first Sonos Amp for connecting my patio tv to two speakers. The speakers are wired to the utility room/ closet. The patio has two detected Ethernet wires behind the TV that also goes to the utility room/ closet. I am trying to send only audio from the TV through the Ethernet extender to the utility room/ closet to the Sonos Amp. I already connected my Sonos Amp to the speakers, and they are working great. It won’t be possible to run a long HDMI wire between the patio and the utility room/ closet.First, I tried to run optical from the TV to the extender and on the other side from the extender to the AMP through 1 RCA Male to 2 RCA Male Y Splitter Digital Stereo Audio Cable, but it didn’t work.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G5NQCK7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078Z6MC94/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Next, I tried to run an HDMI cable from the TV to the extender and on the other side fr
Hi there,I have an Amp, and 2 outdoor speakers, looking to expand to 4, possibly 6 in the future. The ideal placements for me are in plant boarders, I can get the right distance between speakers, and even set-up for the area. I appreciate they aren't ideally placed for audio perfection (not at ear level, but I've angled toward the listener). My question, will it harm the speakers having them sat on the ground (small gravel), rather than having them mounted? Thank you!
Hi, everyone. I am new to Sonos Amps and in-ceiling speakers, so please forgive my ignorance. We are currently working on turning our carriage house (separate structure, garage) into a home office. Inside the carriage house, we will have:4 Sonos in ceiling speakers running from: 1 Sonos amp (planned location: inside the carriage house)Also, we have a sport court outside of the carriage house where we are going to have:4 Sonos outdoor speakers wired to: 1 separate Sonos Amp (location could be inside our house or inside the carriage house)In the future we are planning to add the following to the inside our house:4 Sonos in ceiling speakers wired to: Another separate Sonos amp (planned location: inside our house)We will have two separate internet services through Comcast:One 200 mbps router in our home One 200 mbps router in the carriage separate We have underground low Voltage conduit running from our carriage house to our home. Our needs specifically will be to:Play music on just t
As the title said, can I set up two 3’rd party speakers and a Sonos Sub using the Ethernet connection, but not activating SonosNet?
Hi I have a fairly old Sonos set up and products consisting of a bridge, a beam gen 1, a play 1 and a play 3. Everything works perfectly fine at present but we are doing some work in the house and I am considering installing ceiling speakers in the kitchen. I have been looking at the Sonance speakers plus Sonos Amp for this. My understanding is that with the new Amp my bridge becomes redundant but that my play 1 and 3 won’t connect to it so potentially I need to update those. What about the beam ? Can’t it, does it have to connect to the Amp to make it work and is that possible. All products are well independent and have different purposes if that makes any difference with the beam used for tv sound, play 3 for living room and play 1 for kitchen (to be replaced by ceiling speakers). Any help advice would be most welcome as I am a bit lost.
Part #’s used for repair, updating the 8 year old thread with the same nameMy ancient ZP100 no longer powered up, I found the great guide here by berrisford5, but some details where missing. The (2) fuses where blown, I bought them on Amazon, they are Slow-Blow 4A 250VAmazon Description: uxcell 20Pcs DIP Mounted Miniature Cylinder Slow Blow Micro Fuse T4A 4A 250V Red - They are $8.49 for 20 The TVS Diode (connects directly after transformer on power supply PCB) was also shorted, in the old thread it’s refered to as “CA48”, I found this TVS Diode on DigiKey, part # for it is “SMCJ48CA”, they are .65 each, bought 5, the shipping cost more.. awaiting the TVS diode to finish the repair. Hope this helps anyone with an ancient 2006 ZP100 Mitch
On one of my Sonos Outdoor Architectural speakers, the tweeter isnt working from getting wet when I hosed around it, will it work again? It’s been drying out for over 24 hours on a hot day and still the tweeter doesn’t produce any sound.
Used Sonos Connect amp with the Sonos S1 app. factory reset the amp and the led is flashing green. Tried to configure it using Bluetooth but keep getting Product not found. Tried both IPhone IOS and Android. Did everything the app said if there is a problem with no success. May try the Eithernet connection but I don’t really want to use it that way. I’m thinking the Sonos amp is broken.Any ideas will be greatly appreciated
Seen rumors about this but just now I see on the Sons web site it is listed as “Last Chance”, so can we can some kind of official statement about the lifetime of the Boost? With the removal of SonosNet support from the newest hardware, it makes me sad, as home routers aren’t getting any smarter on average and SonosNet is still the best solution for any number of connectivity issues.
I’m conflicted and I need some help, right now Best Buy has a pair of Sonance - MAG Series 2.0-Ch. Outdoor Streaming speaker and a Sonos Amp 2nd Gen. on sale for $1,000 while a pair of Sonos - Architectural 6-1/2" Passive 2-Way Outdoor Speakers are $875 and the amp another $700. Can someone explain to me the difference between the Sonance - MAG Series 2.0-Ch. Outdoor Streaming speakers and the Sonos - Architectural 6-1/2" Passive 2-Way Outdoor Speakers. Do they produce the same level of sound and clarity or is there a material difference between them.
I’m going to attempt to set up an “alarm” in an effort to solve my issue with my 1 ½ week old Sonon Port that stops playing music when my amp shuts off then turns back on. If I see it correctly, I can set the start time of the alarm, set the duration of the alarm and select the input audio for the alarm. So I should have music from the Sonos library(alarm source), playing at my alarm start time of 1030am until my 10 hour duration is up. Correct? Here’s the current setup. The Port is connected to the internet via a Cat 5 cable. I’m streaming music from the Sonos app. The Sonos Port outputs to a Shure mixer. The Shure mixer outputs to a QSC CSX 800V amplifier that drives 5 Episode all-weather 70 volt speakers. The speakers provide sound at our large community swimming pool. The music has to be off between the hours of 9pm and 1030am, community rules. I saw no way to turn the Sonos Port, the QSC amp and the Shure mixer off then back on with some setting feature. I put a mechanical timer o
So I have a sonos port and (6) speakers. Once upon a time I could just come home and drop an LP on the Turntable. The Sonos Port would automatically start playing out of a Stereo Pair (Sonos SL + Sonos One), then one day it stopped working. I deleted/reset the port and reconfigured as part of my troubleshooting with the assistance of support. To this day I have to spend sometime 30 minutes trying to get them working. I need to understand why I can’t just get it working the day I first setup where I can just put on an LP and have music playing from the stereo pair? Any assistance would be great.I have called support soo many times it only works once, each time I call. Thanks
Hello, I recently purchased a new Sony Bravia TV and hooked it to a Sonos AMP. It’s connected via HDMI the eARC port. Unfortunately, when I try to switch the audio output to the Sony TV speakers, the TV will play audio through the TV speakers for approximately 1 to 2 seconds, and then automatically switches back to the external audio. Also, attached is a cable box via a separate HDMI port, but even with unplugging it, this issue persists. I have read multiple threads on this topic, but cannot find anyone ever found a resolution. I think we all have a sense that this is a CEC issue with Sonia having to do with the fact that the Sonos Amp is running all the time but I have tried to switch every setting I can find on my TV and have been unable to resolve it.Would appreciate any insight this community can provide on this issue. Thanks,Stephen
Hi, I am planning on the following setup and had some questions on the in ceiling and in wall speakersLiving Room - 4.1 surround system (virtual center channel)2 in wall speakers on TV wall (can these be mounted sideways?) 2 rear in ceiling speakers I believe I need 2 amps for this (1 for in walls, and 1 for in ceiling surroundsOutdoor Room2 in ceiling speakers 1 amp
New Sonos Port that is hardwired to the internet. The Port outputs to a Shure mixer that then outputs to a QSC 800V amp that's on a mechanical timer that shuts it off at 9pm and on at 10am. When playing music from the Sonos library or SiriusXm, when the amp turns on in the morning, there is no music playing or even selected to be played. I have to select what to play and play it. Is there some kind of "sense" circuitry?
Translate using Google Translate added by Moderator:Hello everyone, I present my case to find out if this has happened to someone, one of my clients reports that 2 areas where they have sonos AMP, every day at 11 pm the volume is lowered and they can no longer turn it up, like if a volume restriction feature is activated. Over the past month my ZP90 is disappearing from the network. It worked great for years, but now when I power it up it appears in the App and plays music, but after a time it stops playing music and disappears from the app. The white lights are on while it’s working and after it stops working. It’s been getting worse. Originally I could cold boot it and it would last for weeks; then days; and now minutes. Can you please help me diagnose and fix the issue?Thank you,DougM
I have a Fluance RT81 with built in amplifier. I hear a low puttering noise in the background, all the time. It’s erratic in pattern and volume, but constant. When I turn the gain down (source) it decreases, but using the app volume control while playing music, you can hear it. I’ve reconnected the cables, rebooted everything, but the puttering is still there. Any ideas?
We have three sets of wired speakers - 2 sets outdoors and one set inside. They are connected to our Sonos system using Connect with an old Denon receiver. We would like to replace the receiver or use another option recommended. We only play music and would like to be able to control the volume on the wired speakers separately by set. Can anyone recommend a receiver or if we should use the Amp with a second Connect? Thank you!
Hello,I have had a Connect for about 4 years and it has allowed me to play my Sonos sound through my old Hi-Fi speakers without issue..However, recently a lag in the sound from the HiFi speakers and the rest of my Sonos speakers has occurred, which makes it unlistenable. All my software updates are done. Is this a known issue and is there a fix please? Thanks, Paul
Same room, same wifi signal. Roam is working perfect, Play 1 inestable signal, why?4 months working perfect but one week ago play1 started loosint signal. No changes in the wifi system, same location. I work with roam in the same place of Play1, any issue. This is crazy
I happen to have some Meridian DSP digital loudspeakers that use a coaxial digital input. If I can use two Ports combined as a stereo pair then I can connect these speakers accordingly and not need to wire them to each other.
Hi Guys, I have a quick and maybe stupid question. I just added a 2nd sub and it’s not listed/named the same as the 1st one. Is this normal ? Moderator edit: removed serial numbers from picture
I just installed a port on my stereo. It was working fine but suddenly I am getting a noise almost like a speaker is blown. But, the volume was low and when I switched to my CD player it sounds perfect
