Hi,

I clearly don’t know much about speaker wire! Do I need 2 or 4 conductor wire for a future Sonos amp plus 4 Sonance outdoor speaker set up?

You need two conductor wire to each speaker. Over the long term, running a separate two conductor wire from each speaker back to AMP is the best approach.
