I just bought the Onkyo nr-tx696 because of its work with sonos integration. I set it all up and it turns on and I can adjust volume using Sonos. The problem I am having is that I cant get it to go into standby after I stop playing music. I have tried multiple settings and my understanding is that the receiver is supposed to recognize after 20 mins of no signal and go into standby, however its not doing it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I need help to connect my sonos port to my denon amp with RCA cable to play FM from my amp I am not possible to do it need any one who can help

Hi I would like to have a wall mounted volume controller in some of my zones instead of looking for my phone. Is this something that can be wired to the amps or is there a wireless option also? Thanks. 

Hi all, I am sure this is a dumb question but I hope you can help. I’m a legacy Sonos customer with an old connect hooked up to a vintage Sony stereo receiver and technics turntable.i want to move to a Sonos amp for a 4.1 surround setup and maintain my old turntable as part of that.what do I do about my preamp situation if I have an old receiver? Can my old receiver act as a preamp or is that a dumb idea? Or should I just buy a dedicated pre amp and sell the receiver? Or something else?After some research I’m not that concerned about losing the analog sound by eliminating the receiver (it also has a tape out if I wanted to maintain that), but I’m not sure what best practice is for moving from a modest analog Phono set up to a sonos amp phono set up. I can’t find a lot online about keeping an old receiver as a preamp with the AMP, which tells me that it may not be the best approach. But I don’t understand why?help!!Edit: I should maybe add that I don’t care much about streaming turntabl

Hello, I am in the market for a turntable, and wanted to output that to a sonos amp.  My question, If I were to get passive speakers powered by the sonos amp, would I be able to output the audio from my turntable, to both the passive speakers and my 4 sonos ones that I have around my house? 

Hi, I’m wanting to create a few party playlists that will include both Spotify tracks and tracks that I have on my Mac. However when I add the tracks to the Your Library section of Spotify and try to play them, they are greyed out.I have tried playing through Spotify and selecting my Sonos Room and get “track can’t be played at this time” and also tried playing through Sonos App and selecting Your Library, then the playlist - but any tracks that are computer based are greyed out.My question is, if I were to upgrade to the new Gen 2 Connect Amp would this issue be solved?Thanks!

Hi there, could someone please tell me if there are any diagrams available for explaining to my electrician how to wire a series of sonos amps to in ceiling speakers. He was talking about wiring them in series and I dont believe that that is the correct method. Also I have plans to put a speaker in an ensuite and adjacent walk in wardroom. My plan was to use 2 individual steroe speakers wired back to one amp ie as one zone. should I run 2 wires for left and right from the amp to each speaker?Thanks.

I have Sonos system with fairly old (S1) components (ZPs, Play5s). It was working quite well with the legacy Sonosnet. I have had a proper Aruba network installed (instant Access Points not the Instant On, with Instant OS 8.6.15) to provide full coverage in the (fairly large full of reinforced concrete) house. So that I have proper WiFi access now (measured, calibrated, etc) stable 2.4 and 5 GHz reception all across. I decided to switch the Sonos system to WiFi mode. I am experiencing quite a few issues:  * Stability of controllers is very poor now (dropping, not connecting without restart, etc) * Some device refuses to connect simply (got IP, but does not start broadcasting advertising itself, hence the other boxes and the controllers cannot see it) * Spotify no longer able to stream from the app to the Sonos system directly (you need to search start on the Sonos controller) Should I  accept the advice of support that (at least with these old boxes) the Sonosnet is far more reliable t

Is there a way to run 2 line in RCA inputs into one Port?I currently have a Connect which I use to to feed into my audio system in the living room.  I’ve got multiple devices connected to my B&O amp through an Inday Toslink / Coax switch.  It all works fine but it leaves my TV out of the Sonos EcoSystem.The Chain looks like this:BT DAC Receiver > Connect > Inday Switch ch 1 > DAC > B&O   This covers all the music and streaming I need then I can group the 5 other zones   With this set up, TV is out of the MIX and I dont need a sound bar   TV > Inday ch 2 > DAC > B&O This works for TV sound in living room but I cant stream it to the other ZonesSo here’s the question  I just ordered 2 Ports.  One to replace the connect and the other to feed the TV into that would then go to Inday Switch channel 3 over the DAC and B&O  in this way I could group the TV port into the other zones when wanted.So my ultimate question is this the best way to go or could I som

Several times now I’ve woken up in the middle of the night or other times to hear a full volume hum/distortion “playing” on a room on my system. I’ve at least figured out that when it happens I have to open the Sonos app and press “stop” for which it does stop.  It thinks it’s playing something from the line in source but it’s not, it’s simply distortion.  I don’t even have anything hooked up to that source except for a portal to plug in DJ mixer once in a while.  .  This is terrible.  Any suggestions??

I am looking to set up in ceiling speakers in my bathroom.  My current set up is on the old S1 system and I can’t/don’t want to upgrade.  Is it possible to use connectamp gen1 and any ceiling speakers (not sonance).  I understand I will need to power the amp and wire it to the speakers- is that all I need to do?  Any in ceiling speaker recommendations also appreciated.  Thank you.

I have a Sonos Port and when I try to put it in Mono mode is goes for a very quick second and then goes back to stereo.  Anyone know how to fix this?  Music is playing when I try this if that matters.

Hi, I have 3 different areas with in-wall prewired speakers in my home, with the cables running bundled (but seperated) individually to one location in the basement Outdoor living space with 2 speakers (TV outside as well) Family room with 5 in-wall ceiling speakers (TV mounted in front) Basement with 5 wired speakers My questions is how and with what equipment would I use to utilize these speakers for the respected TVs (to output sound) and to use for music. I will also note their are Ethernet Cat6 cables run to the same locations behind all TVs (at wall plate behind the TVs) The media company for the builder said to use Sonos, but how would I go about using this (so that there is no lag in the audio from the TV). Would I use just Sonos or use it with existing amplifier?Do I need seperate amplifiers for each set of speaker? Really look forward to any help! For 2.5 years, my Sonos subwoofer has worked flawlessly.  In the past month, every few days it loses the connection to my Sonos Amp.  The mobile app shows "Updating" for days next to the Sub, and shows "Unused", meaning not connected to the Amp any longer.  The only way to restore it is to do a factory reset on the Sub and add it again to the Amp.Nothing has changed with my hardware setup -- Amp with Sub, Netgear Nighthawk 7000 router with Netgear Nighthawk EX7000 extender which the Amp and Sub are connected to.  I have not moved any devices (amp, sub, router, extender).  I have not updated software on any devices, though the Amp and/or Sub may have been automatically updated, don't know.I have spoken twice with Sono's tech support, and they just have me do the factory reset.  During the call with the second tech, she had me move the Sub closer to the Amp and turn off the Netgear extender.  Of course, it works, but that's most likely due to the factory reset.  Again, everything was wor

I could use some clarity on what Sonos are doing in regard to gathering metrics and stats on what I use my system for.Firstly my problem - For some weird reason my Spotify account became completely unlinked from Sonos so nothing would play through my speakers. I went into the app and re-added the account but still, nothing would play.The symptoms are the Spotify system would sit on “connecting” when I asked it to play through the SONOS, eventually timing out, or, the SONOS app would attempt to play a song and throw an error about the connection to Spotify being “lost”.I run a “PiHole” DNS sinkhole on my home network to prevent unncessicary connections from my IoT devices “phoning home” to send my usage data to various providers (Samsung, Philips Hue, Amazon, Sonos etc).I have not been prompted, asked, warned or given any consent for this data to be collected, gathered or sent back to any vendor simply to be able to use their products. Hi all, I suspect I already know the answer to my query but hoping I missed something and I can salvage my existing system and use my turntable.Current list of products: Connect (Gen 1), Play:1s, One (Gen 1), Sub (Gen 2) and Playbar (Gen ?).Is there any way to use any of the aforementioned speakers with my Connect on either controller? Can I downgrade any of my speakers to make something work or do I need to find a Gen 2 Connect?

I have my Line-in source level set to 4 and I’m using a Pro-Ject T1 turntable with the Sonos Port, playing through a Sonos Beam and a Sonos One. I have the built-in preamp on my T1 set to Line so the sound is reasonably amplified, but the sound is staticky with almost zero low-end, it sounds very thin. Seems obvious that I’m doing something wrong here but i can’t figure out what. Any help would be much apprecated!

I have a Audio Technica LP60XBK turntable that is connected to Sonos Port. The pre-amplifier switch is set to LINE on the turntable. When I play a vinyl on the turntable, the sound output on my Sonos ARC, with sub and two play one's are too low. In the Sonos app, I did try setting the "Source Level" under Sonos port settings from all the way from Level 1 to Level 10. Level 1, basically nothing can be heard and Level 10 is as though set on low volume.Do not know what else to check and if there is an issue with port or turntable.Any help would be appreciated!

I have two new Sonos Ports that are connected to my receiver. It needs to connect to a wireless network since I don’t Ethernet availability. Can the Sonos Ports connect to a wireless network that supports both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz or should it connect only to a 2.4Ghz wireless network? 

Hi, can anyone help please? I have just purchased a Pro-ject turntable from Sonos and I have wired it in via line-in. Gone to my app and connected up, but at maximum volume all you can hear is a faint sound coming through the speaker! Am I missing something?please help :(

I am currently doing a family room addition.  I own a Sonos Arc and sub.Here is what I want to do in order of priority.Use Sonos Arc + Sub + 2 Era 300s for my HT setup.Be able to connect my turntable to this setup.Use two sets of wired outdoor speakers.  One on the back of the house and one on the front.I will occasionally be using a TV on the back and would like the outdoor speaks to play audio from the TV.Is this possible?
