I am using the coax digital output from a Port to drive an Arcam SA30 Amp. Everything worked with the amp detecting a 44.1khz input. After the firmware update today, the amp says the input is ‘Not Valid’ and nothing plays. The analogue output from the Port still works OK. Is this a botched upgrade?
Hi. Following lengthy investigation, and three attempts by Sonos agents to diagnose, I was told by one yesterday that an update to my S1 Sonos Connect had increased its power requirements to above that which my old Airport Express can produce. As a result, the Connect cant simultaneously deliver audio through the RCA analogue outputs AND wirelessly to other Sonos products. It only works through one or the other. He said that currently, there is no way for users to revert the Connect to its pre-update, fully functioning state, but that Sonos may release an update to make this possible. Is there any info on when this might happen, or if there’s a work around, or if a new Airport Express would resolve this. Many thanksHenry
Hi All,Big Sonos fan here and we have them all over our condo. That said, the condo we bought had an ‘in-ceiling’ speaker installed with an ethernet wire going to the AV closet. I remember from when we were viewing the condo, that the old owners had a Sonos Connect in there, which I’m guessing they used to connect to the ‘in-ceiling’ speaker. What we are trying to figure out is how to connect the ‘in-ceiling’ speaker to our current Sonos app/system. I’m not sure if still need a Sonos Connect to do this, or if there is a simpler way now? Our existing Sonos products are all wifi (Arc,Sub,Moves).I’m also unable to tell if the actual in-ceiling speaker is a Sonos product or not. I see grills for in-ceiling speakers being sold on Sonos that look the same, but I can’t find any other images of what we have (see pictures below). Any help with the simplest and easiest way to get this speaker onto our existing Sonos network is appreciated and cheers!Phil
Hey all-I want to build a surround sound system for my TV using existing Arc and Sub (gen 3) while incorporating new Sonos Amp and 4 architectural wall/ceiling speakers. I am placing 2 additional ceiling speakers in an adjacent room and hook all of the speakers to the amp via a speaker selector. Would the speaker selector allow me to turn off the 2 solo speakers when using TV/surround sound and would a single amp be able to support all of this? I know that the amp can support 6 architectural speakers but not sure in this arrangement. Hopefully this can work and save me from having to buy a second amp by only getting a speaker selector. Thanks!
Hello,I'm the network admin in a large geographical campus LAN. We have may different buildings and all our buildings are connected with our own dark fiber via layer 2 and 3 switches.I need to setup a Sonos amp and two Sonos outdoor speakers. My two questions are:1. At the new site I plan on installing the amp and speakers. I will connect the amp to the network switch which is connected to a layer 3 firewall, (Cisco Meraki MX), to the Internet. I will setup a new private network on the firewall for Sonos, (SSID on Cisco Meraki MX), that only employees can access the SSID. The Sonos equipment will connect to the Sonos SSID and employees with the Sonos app can login and access. Does this sound technically correct?2. If more sites want to add Sonos equipment across the campus LAN, is there a way or a better solution where there would be a "main" Sonos site and different Sonos equipment across the LAN where everything in Sonos can be controlled out would I just setup each site with it's o
I recently posted about my difficulties in getting a BeoSound 9000 CD player to connect properly with a Sonos Amp. I am happy to say that a 5 pin DIN to 2X RCA cable that allows connection between one of the PowerLink speaker sockets on the BeoSound and the Amp has helped, at least in part. The cable was purchased from Steve Marriott at SoundsHeavenly.com in the UK. Thank you pup!I have had the best result by short circuiting the requirement for a B&O remote control simply by inserting a dummy headphone plug into the BeoSound 9000 headphone line out (a tip from the BeoWorld Forum). This allows me to control the volume output on the BeoSound directly, as it was in “TV Operated” mode when I received it. For reasons explained more fully below, I actually have the Beosound connected to an Ampapa pre-amp Line-In and this is then connected to a Sonos Amp that is part of a 6-component Group on my Controller along with another Sonos Amp, two Sonos Ports connected to a receiver, a Sonos
I currently have 2 speakers (a stereo pair) connected to my Sonos Amp. I’d like to add another speaker (just one) to the Amp but have it be mono (ie, play both left and right channels combined). Is it possible to connect 3 speakers to the Amp but have 2 of them be stereo and 1 be mono? My fingers are crossed that there’s a clever way to do this. Thanks.
Hello, I have an S1 system and am trying to add a sonos connect to my system. I am able to power on, update, and connect. I’m also able to see the zone and play audio. However, no audio comes from the line out. I have troubleshot the system and determined what is no line out audio. The line out is set to variable. I have tried this with a second S1 connect and get the same result. I have changed the RCA patch cord and connected the amplifier to another Sonos zone and it works also. Why is this S1 connect not playing any audio?
hi, I have a dolby system with Arc, one sl and sub. I would like to connect a turntable. how can I do? Thanks
Specs for SONOS AMP can drive 2 pairs of 8 ohms speakers but has anyone used a SONOS AMP to drive their 70V Speaker system? AMP rated at 125watts so if my 70V speakers are all tapped at 5watts, in theory it could drive 25 speaks in my office.
My Sonos Connect has become very unstable. It is connected with a patch cable directly to my router. If I connect my One SL speaker to the same cable it is stable and works, so it is not the router and not the cable. If I switch the power off and then on my connect works fine for a short while playing music (5-50 minutes), but suddently stops. Most often it stops within a few minutes. I can start the music again a few times before the app eventually reports that there is no network connection to the sonos connect :(I have noticed, that alle LEDs on both NICs from time to time swithces off at once and shortly after turning on again and then back to normal with the active NIC indicating connection and NW traffic.I have succeeded updating the software (required several retries), but it did not improve stability.Any ideas? Is the device broken? Thanks :)
Hello all.I have a Sonos ZP120 which works under the Sonos 1 app just fine, i can't find any info about Sonos discontinuing either, just they say they've discontinue support for ZP120.On the topic of this amp, i have B&W 607s running through it (sitting on a shelf) and want to improve the low end. I was about to invest in some Atacama Moseco 7 stands (£140) and a REL Tzero MKIII (£370) and it occurred to me maybe i should put that money (£510) towards floor standers or something else (Id probably get £200 for the 607s)I like the Sonos 'system' and the family can all choose music to play from their phones.
Hi,I have a record player by audio-technica it has a line out socket & bluetooth. My sonos system is made up of a Sonos ArcSub Gen 22 X One SL’s none of which have bluetooth or line out.So If I am not mistaken my cheapest option to get the record player through my Sonos. Would to add a Sonos Roam which has bluetooth. But would that then play my tunes on all my speakers ?? TIA
All - have opted for the Sonos (Sonance) amp and x6 in-celing speakers for my kitchen / dining / snug area. Looking for suggestions as to where best to place the speakers. The floor area of the kitchen, dining, snug is 88m2, with part of the celing being pitched / vaulted (as annotated in red on the floor plan). There is also a roof lantern (annotated in green on the plan)Will be looking to use the system to play music via various streaming services (apps) and also watching TV (the tv will be located in the snug area, as annotated in the plan, have also annotated sofa / dining table location. Welcome suggestions for placing the 6 speakers, assume
My robot vac just chewed the cable. Now I’m looking at $80 replacement. Can Sonos fix this? Would be great if they changed this hardwired lead 😢
Hi,i recently purchased the complete Sonos system including Sonos Arc+ Sonos Era 300 x 2 + Sonos Sub Gen 3I have also a Technics SL-1200MK2 Black which I would love to connect to this setup that i have grouped and trueplay tuned. One solution is to get an RIAA/Pickup-Preamplifier and connect it through a sonos line adapter to Sonos Era 300 but the problem is that the Sonos Era doesnt accept inputs when its in trueplay tuning mode. The Arc which is basically the mother in the trueplay tuning doesnt have any input. Can someone recommend a solution in which the Technics SL-1200MK2 can be earthed and also connect to the system so i can get a nice 3d sound?
I will have 2 zones in my outdoor patio. I am planning on connecting the amp directly to the router via ethernet cable. Since i will have two sonos amps i was going to connect both of them directly to the router. I noticed the amp has two ethernet ports and was wondering can i run one ethernet cable to the router and then use the other ethernet port to connect to the second sonos amp? will i lose any internet speed, will there be any audio delay? I have two zones so i can connect outdoor tv and speakers to 1 zone and garden speakers for the other zone and then use both zones for music. Thanks for your help.
do you have to upgrade the sonos port in order for the speakers to be integrated with other speakers through the receiver
Sonos Connect: Amp 2nd Gen does not turn on. Assuming a hard reset does not restore it to full function how do I get it repaired and how much might it cost to get it repaired?
HelloI have a Connect, was fine a few months ago but has been off for a while. Turned it back on, just flashes white light slowly (around 10 secs on, 20 secs off). Tried factory reset, plugging into router. Nothing changes. Is it a lost cause?
Hi there, I recently purchased a Sonos Sub to pair with a Sonos amp powering 4 ceiling speakers in my garage. The amp is located in the house in an entertainment cabinet about 40-50 feet away from the sub. Long story short, I could not maintain connection for more than a few minutes, I moved the sub indoors into the house closer to the amp and all would work flawlessly. I reached out to tech support and was told the distance between the amp and sub was too far so I returned the sub. Is there any option I have? Would a Sonos boost help? I really liked what the sub added in the garage but it simply will not connect. I can not relocate the amp as all wiring is in wall. Any help would be appreciated!
100% newbie here. just moved into a house that has 6 ceiling speakers in the back patio and I bought the Sonos port and I have a Denon AVR-4306. how can I connect them to get sound from the app to the speakers? thanks for your help
My Sonos Port is connected to my dac using coax cable. I’m practically using the port as a streamer. This is the first time in over 2 years I’ve had playback issues. Called audio store I bought it from and spoke to a friend. They both are also having the same issue. What is Sonos saying the issue is.
Hello,my recently acquired port seems ti be a little dull when I connect it to myself Audiolab DAC .I’m a sonos owner for more than 15 years now . I A/B compared myself old sonos connect plug in the COAX1 of my DAC and myself PORT connected to the COAX2 port.Everything is OK with te connecte but the PORT seems to be muffled. The cymbals sound level is very low compared to the connect sound. With the RCA output there is no problem. I also swapped the DAC input , same problem. The output setup of both sonos is fixed volume. Did you notices this problem and did you fixed it?Thanks.
According to the information on the 12V trigger”Port has a 12V trigger output with a current rating of 200mA that can be connected to an amplifier with a 12V trigger input. This brings an amplifier out of standby mode when music starts playing, reducing the time it takes for the amplifier to become active and start outputting audio to your speakers.”My question is, what makes the trigger turn off?Selecting Mute Hitting the stop button on the application I have an analog TV input for the port, if the TV sound turns off, but the Sonos is still playing, will this turn off the trigger?
