My Sonos Connect has become very unstable. It is connected with a patch cable directly to my router. If I connect my One SL speaker to the same cable it is stable and works, so it is not the router and not the cable.

If I switch the power off and then on my connect works fine for a short while playing music (5-50 minutes), but suddently stops. Most often it stops within a few minutes. I can start the music again a few times before the app eventually reports that there is no network connection to the sonos connect :(

I have noticed, that alle LEDs on both NICs from time to time swithces off at once and shortly after turning on again and then back to normal with the active NIC indicating connection and NW traffic.

I have succeeded updating the software (required several retries), but it did not improve stability.

Any ideas? Is the device broken?

Thanks :)

The next time this happens, submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of the failure, and another within 10 minutes of it reconnecting. Then call Sonos Support to discuss them.

If there’s a hardware failure in the CONNECT, it should show up in one of those two diagnostics. Similarly, if there’s something else going on, it should be evident from them comparing the two diagnostics.

Thanks for your kind answer.

Just for reference/winding up this thread: It happens everytime after boot, and it got worse, now I cannot get any connection. I called support and the conclusion was, that something is broken inside 😞 The device is 5 years old. Support has offered a discount code for the webshop as a compensation.
