Amazon Alexa and Sonos

Can anyone tell me whether it SHOULD be feasible to have one sonos account servicing various speakers (in my case sonos one & connect) and have them controlled from one Alexa account via multiple alexa enabled devices (in my case alexa built into the sonos one and echo)? Alexa works via my echo dot & it voice controls my sonos connect just fine; BUT the built in Alexa on my sonos one isn't working (appears offline). It was working fine, but stopped working yesterday when I bought a sonos connect, added it to my sonos account & set connect to be the preferred speaker on my echo device. Help!

Sonos One's integration with Alexa appears to not support the AudioPlayer interface. Our Alexa skill, "My Media for Alexa", uses this API to stream music, however, we see no requests being made by the Sonos One when we send an AudioPlayer Play command. Please can Sonos advise whether this is a bug and/or when it this capability will be added to the Sonos One? Thanks

I think this is a recurring theme but haven't seen a topic that actually solves my issue so hoping an expert will be able to help here. We've a couple of Sonos Ones just installed. They are working fine using WIFI and have elements such as Spotify set-up and they've been paired together, so basic config seems OK. Alexa seems to be working OK on it too. The speakers are visible from my phone such that I can direct streams to them, turn them on/off etc. We also installed a pair of Smart Life UP111 sockets to have a go using these devices via Alexa. I can control them using Alexa on my phone and from an Echo Dot but The Sonos speakers can't see them. I don't see anything in the Sonos config that I need to change and am stuck. Is it obvious to you what I have done wrong? Pretty sure the Alexa on the Sonos is meant to be able to control this kind of device? Thanks

Hi I have a Sonos beam that has continual problems with Alexa integration. I have restarted the beam re-installed the Sonos and Alexa app disabled/re - enabled Sonos skills and it still does not work. Sometimes it has worked but then fails after a period of time. At the moment it just doesnt work - any ideas?

I have a new Beam and Fire TV Edition. They are connected through all of the various apps, but the Beam will not launch apps on the Fire TV. If I say “Alexa, launch Netflix,” it simply searches for Netflix. My Echo on the other hand will actually open the app. How am I able to fix this?

Alexa has found my speakers ( generation 1) but when I ask it to play through them it says it's not recognised????? Are gen 1 compatible with Alexa? Or am I just making a mistake in the set up

My two Sonos Ones have previously been playing BBC radio stations via TuneIn without any problems: 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4' would return 'Playing BBC Radio 4 from TuneIn' and the appropriate audio stream. Something strange has started happening today. Alexa is now trying to use a BBC skill and, depending on exactly how I ask, may or may not play audio. If I say 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4', it returns 'Here's Radio 4 FM (tone) the BBC' and no audio stream. If I say 'Alexa, play BBC Radio 4 from the BBC', it again returns 'Here's Radio 4 FM (tone) the BBC' but now with the correct audio stream. Weird, I know: I have tested it again and again. When I look at my Alexa settings, it has added a new BBC skill. If I remove the skill, it just adds it back whenever I request a BBC radio channel. I don't mind using TuneIn or the BBC, but I don't want to have to specify the source every time. I don't know whether this relates to yesterday's 8.6 upgrade or perhaps Amazon have made a c

Is it possible to stop Sonos from muting all zones when alexa is answering a question. My daughter was very chatty with Alexa in her room this evening and it made listening to music in the living room unbearable. At first I thought the music was cutting out but it was just that she was asking her alexa questions.

I am in the UK and I'm trying to get my Sonos one to play Spotify via Alexa Voice commands - my spotify account is premium and it is linked to both Sonos and Alexa I have tried relinking them both multiple times with no success. No matter what I try Alexa tells me that "you need to link your Spotify premium account to play Spotify". I can only assume the problem is with Sonos because I've never had this issue with any echo devices. If someone has any suggestions it would be appreciated this is super annoying trying to get this working there is no reason it shouldn't work. Diagnostic ID - 1535996763

When I ask Alexa to play on a particular named speaker it will play on whatever group of speakers where playing at the last usage. Rather than just the one I ask for.

It is really confusing! I purchase SOnos One in Switzerland , some time ago. At the time Alexa was NOT available in Italian, so I found some trick with the location to run in English. Now it seams that it is available in Italian, but it is NOT possible to switch the language (like if you ask Alexa how to change the language!!). I already try to Reset SONOS, but no way, Alexa is really stupid, no way to switch to Italian! I already try to set the location to Italy, but no way. The Alexa support and integration on SonOS is really confusing. Any suggestions? Stefano

So, I’ve got a Synology Nas, with my music stored, which I would like to access via Alexa. Now I’ve read lots of threads that say it’s not possible. But I’ve also just read an article here- https://nascompares.com/how-to-play-music-from-nas-on-alexa/ So if the Alexa can access the music then surely it will play over the speaker ? I know there are lots of threads that states it’s not possible. I can pick up play 3s quite cheap as they are being discontinued, and was going to get a connect. An Amazon Dot could then wire connect to the Connect. I guess I am missing something, as I’ve read all the threads

I have a sonos connect downstairs which i control with my vouce via alexa on my echo dot. Upstairs i have a sonos one with built in alexa. Since linking alexa on echo dot to sonos connect my alexa no longer works on the sonos one. Both connect and sonos one are on my sonos account & app as separate rooms. To get alexa to work upstairs I think i need to remove the sonos one from my sonos account and set it up under a different sonos account. Anyone know how to do this please?

hi. i am using sonos one. is there a way to play radio (from tunein) and turn on hue lights...in one-single alexa voice command ? every morning, i will turn on my radio and switch on my kitchen lighting. by doing these, i need to tell alexa to 1) alexa switch on my kitchen lights. 2) alexa play radio. is there a lazier method to link both commands up? haha. i understand that i cant add sonos one audio to "routine"...

I can turn it on and adjust the volume, but can’t turn it off. Everything else works great! There are no options for additional CEC control for the TV.

Amazon recently released the ability to create custom Alexa skills through https://blueprints.amazon.com/ . When I try them on my Sonos One, Alexa says "Audio actions are currently not supported on this device." This may be something that requires a Sonos firmware update to enable. Anybody else experiencing this?

Why is there no way to change the volume of Alexa independent of the music volume. At the moment it’s stupidly loud and if you’re using it in your bedroom at night, when it’s quiet, Alexa is just far too loud when there’s absolutely no reason for it to be. At the moment the Alexa set up is pretty poor. Yes, you’re adding to it and tweaking things all of the time but a lot of the issues should have been resolved before you started selling the units. Not overly impressed after buying two of the Sonos Ones the other day to replace my Echo units.

I bought Sonos one a week ago. I enabled some Alexa skills like Spa Music, Zen Sounds, Ambient Music, Meditation Music. None of the skills work. Alexa replies "I am unable to access the skill Zen sounds" or something similar. Do you know when these features will be supported in Sonos One?

Recently bought two Sonos Ones and set them up fine with Alexa working. One of them has now changed to English (US) and the other has remained as UK. Both are set as wake up word as English (UK) but One is not recognise commands. Any ideas of how to fix?

Hello, I recently purchased a few Sonos Ones (first time Sonos user). I have been playing around with the Alexa integration and I find it pretty useful.... and so have our little kids. The kids love nothing more than shouting at Alexa first thing in the morning and getting random music to play at full volume. Same can happen when we are listening to something they find it hilarious to change the music / talk to Alexa. All of which leads me to the topic title... From what I can see there appears to be no way to temporarily disable voice control; - Turning the microphone off using the button on the speaker isn't helpful (in this scenario) because it can simply be touched to be re-enabled again - The microphone button on the speaker is not disabled when I have turned off the touch control buttons in the app (which I find a bit weird given there is almost no point in turning the touch controls off if anyone can simply override everything with Alexa). - I have tried seeing if I

Ive bought a beam and i want to use Alexa on it. Changed the acount ftom Netherlands country to USA and to english(on the sonos.com/account) but my app stays in Dutch and in the app it says still not available. I also have downloaded the alexa app. Anyone have a step by step howto?
