Does anyone know if you can connect an Alexa dot using the eithernet jack on the Sonos play 1

No. The ethernet jack on a PLAY:1 doesn't function as an ethernet extender.

The Alexa Dot, however, is a wireless device. You shouldn't need to connect it with an ethernet cable.

Oh. Do you mean that you want the sound output on the Dot, which is a headphone jack (3.5mm) to connect to the PLAY:1? Won't work. The ethernet port on a PLAY:1 is an ethernet port, not a audio input.

Thank you for your responses. The dot doesn’t connect to Sonos wirelessly to play music.

No, the dot can control the Sonos wirelessly, but it doesn't "play music" to the Sonos. Minor difference.
