Amazon Alexa and Sonos

I have done all the correct setup actions to link my new Era 300 to Amazon Music and the Amazon voice assistant. However though the voice assistant can give me a weather forecast it can't play any music from my Amazon Music library. 'I am having a problem' message. Nor can I use the Amazon Music app to connect to the Era 300 - it connects but doesn't play music.I have a Sonos Arc where all works fine on the same system.I noticed that in devices Alexa shows the Arc as Sonos controlled. But the Era 300 isn't Sonos controlled as if its an Amazon speaker like an Echo dot.Tried all the usual fixes like disabling / re-enabling the Sonos skill in Alexa, de-registering the device in the Amazon account but no success.Any ideas?

Sonos voice activation problem.I am tearing my hair out over a recent problem described as follows.I have a very simple system which is a Sonos arc plus subwoofer hooked up to a TV in my lounge, plus a Sonos one in the bedroom. All are approximately 3 years old and I have the Sonos S2 phone app.  These have worked great since new. Everything works perfectly except voice activation.Examples.Alexa play the Beatles.Playing the Beatles from Spotify.But nothing happens.Alexa play radio 123.Playing radio 123 from iHeartRadio.But again nothing happens. If I select the music x the app, it plays ok.I have rebooted the router and all Speakers…… no change.The router is within 1 m of the Arc so connection / speed is very strong. I have reset the Arc by pressing the infinity button and a complete new set up. No change.If I ask Alexa any questions available from the Internet such as weather, time, general knowledge she performs perfectly.I have been all over the Sonos and Alexa apps suspecting the c

Is I had my Sonos move connected to my Alexa then the problem with the there's a problem with the Wi-Fi and I reset the sonos and I can't find it on Alexa wrapped to to get everything I need on now I can't connect it from nexor app my son is move so I kind of just Spotify listen to the radio so when I say it isn't the radio it's like it's about to play and it doesn't play the radio station same with Spotify thanks I hope someone can help

So. Alexa and Sonos, wouldn’t say it has ever worked like a charm, but at least decently. However, a couple of weeks ago, things became absolutely horrible: Alexa would no longer “stop” any music if I tell her to do soAlexa would often confirm to play a requested Radio Station, only to NOT play anything afterwardsAlexa would often confirm to play a requested song, only to either play nothing at all, or play a completely different songAll my Sonos devices (2x One, 1 Beam) have been re-set and re-installed from scratch couple of times. Alexa was removed and re-added as a voice service. Alexa app was deleted and reinstalled. None of this helped! My father-in-law is experiencing very similar issues lately, so I’m starting to wonder if it’s a more general problem?

I have managed to connect my Sonos One (2nd gen) to my new Three 5g router and I can control it from my phone however the mic on the Sonos is disabled so I can’t use Alexa. Any ideas please as it’s driving me crazy!so far I have:Tried the button on top of speaker tried to enable the mic on the app rebooted router and rebooted Sonos reset Sonos and re-added it tried to use Ethernet cable but the router can’t seem to see anything plugged in via Ethernet  Disabled and reenabled the sonos Amazon Alexa skill  split the 5g router to  2.4ghz and 5g via Three router  in router settings 

Requesting a tuning station by saying "Alexa play Newstalk fromTunein"  has stopped working on Sonos but still working on all Echoes connected to same network.Router reboot done and sonos powered off and back on. Is the Sonos using its Tunein setup or the Alexa one in this scenario? Any other checks I should do? 

Hi - My Sonos One responds to Alexa for usual commands (lists, weather etc), but will not play music.If I say Alexa Play some music, it selects a playlist from Amazon Music but nothing plays. The voice service is linked, skill enabled in Alexa. (Actually my default service is spotify in Alexa)   What am I doing wrong?  

I reseted my Sonos move and trying to connect with Alexa but when I ask to play music it's says the request but doesn't play music for radio station for me or Spotify it says it's going to play then the plays no music. I'm also trying to connect it with the alexa app which I can't find us I'm not sure why it's not playing music. I can ask Alexa questions but it's just a music which is not playing

Hello all,Just got a Move (early birthday and Fathers Day present) connected it with app and WiFi. Does anyone know if it’ll be easy enough to set up with Alexa as I would need to use the wife’s login?Just wondered if my Sonos login would conflict with the wife’s. Cheers

My Beam used to be connected to Alexa. I am trying to restore this functionality but now neither Sonos iOS app can find my Beam. I’ve done everything to try and just get the device recognized, but no luck. Is it possible to reset my Beam back to factory settings? Or is there another solution to my problem? 

I have 2 original Sonos ones (i.e.without microphones) which I have as a stereo pair in my kitchen. For quite some time they have worked perfectly using Alexa voice commands using an Echo Dot in the same room after setting up “Kitchen” as my preferred speaker.. Suddenly the right channel stopped playing without any changes being made. When I play music using the sonos app both speakers work perfectly. I have tried:Updating the softwareDeleting and adding “kitchen” again in the Alexa AppUnplugging and restarting the speakersDisabled the Alexa skill and enabled again and rerun discoveryBut nothing has worked.I contacted Sonos support who tried the same steps as above  and then gave up saying “Please note that the two Play 1 are not Voice-capable units, therefore this setup is not supported by Sonos, and we do not have a set of steps that we can recommend, however, what I recommend doing is to check with the Sonos community pages and see if other Sonos using are using the same configurati

Hi, as Alexa is officially supported by Sonos in Poland since today, I tried to set it up. Unfortunately the only voice service available to me is Sonos Voice Control. I am using iOS app which is up to date, just like Sonos system itself.What am I missing? 

Alexa is live in Luxembourg and Sonos/Alexa works well in France. What is Sonos waiting for to activate Alexa in Luxembourg?

hi,Just set up my era 100 speaker and I am having difficulty with alexa. I have followed this instruction and it does nothing on the sonos app.I can see the speaker on the alexa app after setting up the skill. Yet the speaker doesn’t listen to alexa commands or appear on the app. I’ve tried customer service and they weren’t very helpful has anyone else had this problem and found a work around? Tempted to return the speaker as it was meant to replace my alexa

Hi again!I was the author of this link and I just wanted to update my progress on this since I have taken steps to try and solve it.I missed an important detail in the old post which is that I have a Google Wifi system, which I have read is infamous for causing problems with Sonos systems. It also means that I cannot change the channel on which the wifi operates as I don’t think Google Wifi has that capability.For the last few hours I have been browsing and seeing many different solutions for Google Wifi systems operating with Sonos and I keep seeing a) hook up a speaker to the main google wifi hub which connects directly to the modem b) disable DHCP on modem c) get a Sonos Boost.I have done option A already. My setup here is a One, Five, Beam + 2 Surround Ones, and a Move. I moved the Five to be connected via ethernet to the main Google hub I mentioned. I also tried alternating between all the SonosNet channels on the app after I moved the Five, and nothing has changed.I have not trie

Can you please provide me information if Sonos is actively working on creating skills for Alexa India Account. If yes, whats the target completion date. If not, is there any other way I can add Sonos skills in Alexa India account or connect echo dot to Sonos Playbar?

Hello,My Sonos system includes 3 Sonos One and a Sonos Move. Until recently I’ve been able to stream Apple Music using Alexa with no issues on all speakers. However, a couple of months ago the Sonos Move started to say that I needed an Apple Music account to stream music (which I obviously already have signed in). Meanwhile, all of the other speakers are working exactly as they should with Apple Music. I have tried factory resetting the Move, signing out of Apple Music in the Alexa App, deactivating it in the Sonos App, and every other possible solution I can find online. But it always comes back with the same message, and the other speakers always start to work just as they should. If I use the Sonos Voice Assistant, Apple Music works just fine on the Move, but it’s so limited in what it can do that I’d much rather use Alexa. I haven’t been able to find anyone else with the same issue on this or other forums, so any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

So, I've been trying to listen to the Whispering Solo Piano Radio custom stream on my Sonos Roam.The custom screen pulls song by song from a server, as opposed to being a full live stream. It's only available via an Alexa skill.After anywhere between 5 minutes and 45 minutes the music stops. I don't have problems using the skill on my cell phone, or the cell phone app with a custom stream. The network does not seem to be the issue. Bandwidth and latency both seem fine... As well the other devices are on the same network and work fine. The Whispering support has been extremely receptive, but is not been able to figure out what's going on. I seem to be the only person reporting this issue. ​​​​​​Since I've no way of isolating Alexa, versus any other part of the process considering that's the only way it can play it on the speaker, I was wondering if Alexa is involved in any of the song by song file pulls... And if so is there some way of troubleshooting this? Thank you

Does anyone have any advice for my sonos saying “playing music found on amazon music” but it never plays?!I ask to search for something, it says it found it & says “now playing…” but nothing else happens!I unplugged, reset & re-installed speakers & updated the app. I am at a loss!

I have seen a few articles from a couple of months ago quoting Sonos Management where they mention support for 27 new countries coming this “spring”, one of which was my country.However the official page of supported countries is unchanged and there are no countries currently listed as “coming soon”.So has this been abandoned or do I hold my breathe for a little longer?

I have two Sonos One’s , and Arc and a sub in a stereo group. When I talk to Alexa to snoozes or set an alarm why does only the arc pick up voice? Why not the two Sonos ones that are closer to the head of my bed? Can you change that and if so how? 

Hi, I have a Sonos Move and 2 Sonos 1s around the house with Alexa which has been working fine for ages. Now when a say ‘Alexa, play BBCRadio 2’ she repeats the command but doesn’t turn it on. I have to use the App to start BBC Radio 2. When I say ‘Alexa, Stop’, the volume dips for my command but continues to play. I have to use the App to stop. I’ve turned the power off on 3 devices and restarted but it’s not fixed the problem! Help please….?

I recently purchased a new Sonos Move Speaker. This is a replacement for one I returned under warranty. Both Speakers are listed & identified in my Sonos.com account.  The problem is I cannot get Alexa to recognize the new speaker even though I’ve applied the Alexa Skill and have gone through the “Add Device” process. What’s very weird is if I instruct Alexa to play music using the name of the “OLD” speaker (ie. Sonos Move on the Patio) it recognizes that speaker as “active” & and tries to play music on it…..buried somewhere deep in a trash can…..lolHas anyone experienced this situation and what did you do to get Alexa to recognize the new speaker and ignore/delete the old?

The problem...I would always be told to install or set up the Alexa skill every time I created a routine and tried to play music on Spotify.Arc Left 300, right 300 Dining room - 100 Kitchen - 300 Fire TV Spotify Echo Show These are all grouped in an Alexa Room called "Front of House."My Fire TV was linked to all these devices, so I could talk to any of them to control the TV. Yet I could never get Spotify to work from my Arc via voice. It would work with some others, but I would always get the skill message with Arc.My Fire TV "speakers out" was set to play music out of the group "Front of House," so this way when music played, I thought it would start with the group.My TV is plugged into my TV, and my TV's HDMI is in my Arc.That's the setup...I noticed that if I created the play music command in Alexa as a routine, it would never work if I set the default device to my Arc or my Fire TV.
