Arc Ultra Surround Sound change!

Hi AllWe are happy to announce to all Arc Ultra owners that the latest Sonos system update (issued today) includes a change to the behaviour of the “TV Level” surround setting slider option, in response to your feedback.Previously, the slider had an effect on the apparent volume of the Arc Ultra itself, as the Arc Ultra is involved with the rendering of the rear channels, even when rear speakers are present.Now, the new behaviour of the “TV Level” setting will be that it will only affect the rear drivers/speakers, rather than the rear channels. The result of this is that when adjusting “TV Level”, you will no longer hear the audio coming directly from the Arc Ultra increase or decrease with the slider. UPnP not working with converted files

So, after this app debacle I’m on the hunt for technical solutions.The one that I found is that I use Symfonium ( https://symfonium.app ) and oh great it supports UPnP ! I can play my files in the FLAC format (16bit/44.1 kHz) without problems !But my music provider converts to OPUS 128kb/s for my smartphone because when I’m on the road… Roaming gets quickly expensive. I then get 48.0 kHz files that are then sent via UPnP to Sonos, just like FLAC.According to https://docs.sonos.com/docs/supported-audio-formats, 48 kHz is supported for Opus. But it doesn’t work. Bummer.But fear not I got one last card up my sleeve and it’s to transcode to MP3. So I’m trying MP3 320kb/s, in 44.1 kHz which again is supposed to work and… well, it doesn’t work.I

Error 1000 - SOLVED (in my case)

Please click here to see a list of more topics around the same subject.  Recently I bought 2 Sonos Roam speakers and tried to add one of them to my system in the mobile app (v.80.01.07, Android), but the setup failed at the last stage - at adding and trying to update the speaker. After this my new Roam was seen in my system but its state was “Not registered”. I couldn’t use it - the app suggested to update the speaker but I got the “Error 1000” message.Then I Thought about adding my Roam in the Sonos controller program (v.16.2, MS Windows 11) on my PC. Replacement NAS question -Sonos S1

Can anyone advise on this please? I have a lot of Sonos components - two Connect:Amps, 4 Play 1s and 3 Play 3s. Everything is running on Sonos S1 as most of them won’t support S2, and all my music files (about 50,000) live on a 10 year old Buffalo Linkststion Duo LS-WXL NAS The NAS also has video and movie files that are accessed by the various TVs around the house The whole home network is wired so nothing, including the Sonos, is wireless (except for iPads etc). It looks like my NAS is failing - I’m still working out if it’s a failed drive which would be easy to replace or if it’s the whole unit. If it’s the whole unit that needs replacing then I can do that but my question for anyone here is, what replacement NAS do it get? I need it to run with Sonos S1 or I’d have to replace my entire and expensive Sonos system, which I don’t want to do as there’s nothing wrong with it. Im not en e

Reproducible Playback Failure on Sonos Arc+Sub+Era300 with Apple Music Dolby Atmos Album

I'm using Apple Music with a Sonos setup consisting of Arc + Sub + two Era 300 speakers.When I play the following album, playback consistently halts mid-track, and the Sonos system becomes completely unresponsive—as if it's frozen. Some files in the shared library not in the controller file listing.

Using : Sonos Controller for PCUsing Version 17.2.2, Sonos OS :S2Build: 90068190Sonos ID:  *********Windows 10 with latest updates.I just setup the music library using my PC internal drive.  I worked through the 913 Errors and the library is working, and playing music.  My problem is the SOME of the music files just don’t show up in the shared directory within Sonos.  The files are the same type as other files, (wma).  I’ve tried moving the files to other locations in shared directories.  I’ve specifically shared the file directory.  I’ve tried moving the un-seen files to other library directories containing files which are visible and playable.What could be preventing the files from showing up in the Sonos library? Moderator Note: Modified in accordance with the Comm

Just got rid of my Bose system because I wanted WiFi. I’m going bonkers constantly changing the volume for each song. There is absolutely zero consistency.  Please tell me there is a fix.  This has never happened with any other speaker I’ve had.  It’s across the board with my roam, Arc & 300 individually.  I can’t find any setting in the app to gain consistency between songs. just so it’s clear when a playlist changes songs in a que the volume might get super loud or super soft. It never plays from one song to the next without a level variation.  The actual setting doesn’t change, but the listening level changes. So it might stay on a 28, but that 29 will vary greatly.I’m really starting to question my decision. thanks for any suggestions.  oh - mostly Amazon Music through Sonos app - I rarely use the Sonos music but it happens on their radio as well.

major problem with Sonos Arc Ultra - Sonos doesn't let switch to other speakers from TV menu

I’m raising this issue yet again.   I can confirm that that Sonos Arc Ultra displays the same issue with the very latest LG C5 TV.   So this problem is not confined to some older TV’s or some small subset of manufacturers.  Sonos seems to be intent on completely refusing and ignoring the problem.  This is a bug.  When is Sonos planning to fix this? Once you have Sonos Arc connected through HDMI ARC connection, you can no longer use built-in TV menu to route the sound to whatever output you want - be it internal TV speakers, headphones connected to TV or anything else.  After a few seconds the sound is again routed to Sonos.  I have previously confirmed on Samsung TV, that this was not a problem with the Samsung soundbar or Sennheiser sound bar.I already raised it previously reporting it for other TV model and it was closed: Also found simi

FIXED: Sonos Playbar Remote Pairing with TCL TV remote – What Actually Worked

I wanted to share this in case someone else runs into the same frustrating issue I did: TV: TCL P7K QLED Google TV (2025 model) Soundbar: Sonos Playbar (2015) Connection: Optical cable (no HDMI ARC) Remote: TCL stock remote (IR + Bluetooth hybrid) 🧨 The Problem:The Sonos S1 app wouldn’t complete remote pairing. Sometimes it would recognize the first Volume + press, sometimes not. If it did, it would fail on Volume - and say “volume control with optical is not supported” (which is nonsense — Playbar is designed for IR+optical). Disabling HDMI-CEC on the TV didn’t help. IR confirmed working via phone camera. Bluetooth turned off didn’t work. Factory reset on the bar made no difference. Universal remote wouldn't pair either (even t
