Some files in the shared library not in the controller file listing.

Using : Sonos Controller for PC

Using Version 17.2.2, Sonos OS :S2

Build: 90068190

Sonos ID:  *********

Windows 10 with latest updates.

I just setup the music library using my PC internal drive.  I worked through the 913 Errors and the library is working, and playing music.  

My problem is the SOME of the music files just don’t show up in the shared directory within Sonos.  The files are the same type as other files, (wma).  I’ve tried moving the files to other locations in shared directories.  I’ve specifically shared the file directory.  I’ve tried moving the un-seen files to other library directories containing files which are visible and playable.

What could be preventing the files from showing up in the Sonos library?

The ‘density’ of the .wma files might be different than those listed in the the supported audio formats FAQ.

Thanks for your post!

I’m sorry to hear of this issue you are having with some files/tracks being missing from your Music Library indexing.

This is most likely caused by a lack of metadata (Artist, Title, Album, etc.) in the files, resulting in your Sonos system having no way to index the tracks. If I am correct, you will likely find the missing tracks when you look for them in the Folder section of Music Library in the Sonos app. This can be remedied by adding metadata to the tracks - there are countless available programs for doing this. One that I use myself is MediaMonkey, but this is a personal recommendation of mine and not of Sonos’ and Sonos cannot be held responsible for anything that happens as a result of using third party software.
