Get help and assistance with your Sonos system

Delighted to get my system back working after the latest update(s), however …It’s eating my iPhone battery.  87% over 13hrs background activity today and I’ve not even played any music.  This is not right, surely.

Hello, I recently moved and I’m setting up my Play1 on a new wifi network. The app finds my device, chimes, and requests the password for my new wifi network. I enter the password but I get an “unable to connect” message. Retrying does not work.  I’ve plugged the device directly into my router with an Ethernet cable which does work. I’ve enabled wifi in the Sonos app, but when I unplug the Ethernet cable and try to connect through wifi again, I’m hit with the same problem, “unable to connect”. Has anyone experienced this same issue?  Thanks 

I was under the impression that versions 16.1 and prior would directly contact streaming services like Spotify so that a Sonos services outage would not impact an already configured system. Is that no longer the case and if so why?

I’m using Sonos for years in my house. Besides the app update which was a total joke of course, why do we have to set an alarm to just play radio all day? Why can’t we just let it play music from a set up time for a set up number or hours? And a if it disconnects it reconnects automatically again? Why all the hassle with the alarms? I have done EVERYTHING possible to let my Play:1’s and One SL have the very best connection possible. Wifi is turned off, all speakers are wired connected to my router (NO duplicate IP’s no) but it does not matter. The times the radio plays all day without stopping, in one year time, are possible to count on 2 hands. Play on all grouped rooms? Yeah right hahahaha. What a f****** joke that is. The software behind the Sonos equipment must be developed by some r****** on a lazy sunday afternoon. So disappointed, bought these speakers as a gift for my husband to connect to soundbar we use for TV, tried all the suggested fixes to no avail. Taking them back to Costco today!

My rear Arc seems to dominate the surround sound with very little sound coming from the rear speakers. How do I adjust the balance please

After yesterday’s (newest) update, every time I try to play music in any room the app switches back to the first room in my list (bedroom). For example, I’ll choose dining room, pick a playlist or album  and start it. The song will start in my dining room, but the app switches back to bedroom. If I want to change volume, skip a song etc. I need to deselect bedroom and switch to dining room. This causes the music to stop and go back to the start of the playlist. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, restarted my router, reset the speakers, switched to sonosnet. Nothing helps. I can use the old Mac app and it works fine, but would prefer my phone. 

Last week I had to shut down my Sonos system as it was draining my iPhone battery in just a few hours. That was cured but now the latest update has effectively killed my Sonos system as I cannot access any of my services. I simply get a message telling me that “something went wrong, try again”. Further attempts fail and deleting and reloading the app makes no difference. What on earth is going on at Sonos. Why are these updates seemingly not tested before release?!

I recently bought a Beam (gen2) for my tv. I used to have a soundbar and sub from Harman Kardon. But now I only have the Beam. I might buy a sub mini later on. But as it is now living in an apartment,  there's no need for it.  Does anyone have some suggestions on what settings I should have for the Beam to get the most out of it when watching movies?

I have 15 speakers from Sonos all throughout my home. I am ready to light the whole house on fire and burn it all down because of Sonos app.  For the love of God can someone please tell me how to make this group of speakers work together and play the music that I ever want or I am going to go to the corporate headquarters and personally hand them back to the president of the company.  I should have spent the money on the speakers I really wanted instead of buying this crap actually I take it back. The speakers are decent app is a nightmare and makes this buying experience. The worst I have ever had.   all I wanna do is play my music that’s it. That’s all I wanna do just play my music on the speakers. it is ridiculous that I’m in technology and I have to ask a forum how to connect my damn speakers.

Hello!  When I want add voice asistant in sonos app, Alexa appear aded, but not listed on installed asistants and I don’t add in app.  How I do reset the asistants in my sonos account and add Alexa in correct form?Thank you to your comments. 

I am absolutely appalled and frustrated with Sonos for rolling out an upgrade that has effectively rendered the app and our highly expensive speaker systems unusable. This is completely unacceptable from a company of Sonos's stature. The CEO, Patrick Spence, should seriously consider resigning over this debacle. How are we, the loyal users, supposed to go without music or use basic functions when the app fails to perform even the simplest tasks? This is a betrayal of trust and a huge disappointment.

Is there any soulotion when your computer cant find Sonos ace with bluetooth, YES ace are in paring mode and on, YES ace headphones are close to the computer.My all other Sonos products are working fine withe my computer, but now my ace is working just with the cabel so it´s sry to go back on monday and change to other brand.

It should be possible to use TWO sub minis in a home theater system, but unfortunately it is not!

I can be watching tv and all of a sudden the sound goes on the tv . I was advised to delete the Sonos app on my phone . Reset my phone and download the app again . This didn’t fix the issue . Can anyone help 

Please include a shortcut for Alarms on the App’s home screen!

Hi, I have installed the above setup within a large kitchen diner which is essentially one room. I have a Sonos Amp and 3 pairs of Sonos architectural speakers. I want the flexibility to turn off 2 pairs of speakers when just watching TV so installed them through an Audiflow 3S-3Z speaker switch. 3 Way Smart Speaker Switch | Audioflow I understand that the Sonos Amp can take 3 pairs of architectural speakers in parallel but the Audioflow speaker switch has impedance matching so when I have all 3 speakers on, it is putting speaker pair A in parallel with Pair B&C in Series). This is resulting in the volume of Speaker pair C been significantly quieter than Pair A. (This volume difference is so noticeable that standing under speaker pair C which is over 10M from Pair A, I am still hearing more vocals from Pair A!) This

Both my Sonos speakers are periodically losing connection with the wi fi network - sound disappears, the app says not connected, it reconnects as soon as try.very frustrating and renders the whole system useless! 

Hello!  Is this set-up even an option? If so, what’s the recommended path forward if I already have the TT and pre-amp running through a single port?  Thanks!

I’ve been using the Sonos Port with AirPlay for months without any issues.  Within the last week or so it will work for about 10 min or so and get disconnected, usually when going to the next track (using the built in Music app).After the 10 min of disconnecting if I try to connect to it again it appears to connect but doesn’t work.  All other Sonos features still work, just AirPlay seems to be messed up.The only way to get it working again is to unplug it and plug it back in.  Then it will work for another 10 min or so.Any ideas?

We own two Play:1 units (paired) and one Play:5 (1st gen) and have had them for over 10 years; through either TuneIn or myRadio Tuner we have been able to play our favourite radio station CKUA (from Edmonton Canada). We use the Sonos 2 App for the Play:1 speakers and the Sonos 1 App for the older Play:5 unit, and they have worked flawlessly until this past update (May 2024) version 80.01.08 for Sonos 2. The station is listed under a myTuner Radio search, but just will not play. We have had issues trying other stations as well. I do not know what the "update" contained, but it has completely ruined our listening pleasure and made our speakers virtually useless to us! 

Hi folks,When I try to add anything from the Calm App such as a soundscape to my Sonos Favourites, it adds it to the list but they are always greyed out. I tried authorising the app again after deleting it and restarting the Sonos app but still getting the same issue.Apple Music tracks etc adds to the Sonos favourites and it lit up as it should be to select. Anyone got any other ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

How does the app keep getting worse and worse over time. It's too bad, I've had some of my Sonos speakers for around 10 years now. Even on a brand new phone the current app is not user friendly, missing functionality that it used to have. And removed the playlists I had. So disappointing given how great the whole experience used to be. The new update is much worse, missing basic functionality now,  So irritated.
