Voice control and smart home

Hey, I installed my first Sonos and got the purpose of interfacing with my Google nest and to find out that it is not available for my country to link, how do I find a work around??? Help please!!

When paring my ARC with 2 sonos Ones as Surround speakers, it appears to disable the Alexa functionality on the Sonos One surrounds, and only allow Alexa functionality on the ARC

I just set up Move with google assistant. GA recognizes the device and I can say “turn volume up/down” etc and it works. However when I say “pause music (on move)” GA says nothing is playing although it actually is. Also, cannot start any playback from Sonos (eg. TuneIn radio station or my playlists). GA says it needs more info. So GA seems to recognize the device but not Sonos.I have removed and re-installed GA and Move (factory reset). I have tried re-linking my Sonos account to GA. No change. Any suggestions please?

Hi!Alexa, only and exclusively on the Beam soundbar, seems that doesn’t recognize anything because she tells me “Didn't find any smart home device, go to Alexa App to the section Smart Home to start”.My actual Sonos + Alexa configuration has: 1 Beam + L/R surround with 2 Sonos One, 1 Sonos Connect, and 1 Echo Dot.Preamble: I was a Beta program member, but when I've closed my program, the issue has started.I’ve tried a lot of unsuccessful combinations: by default, my Echo Dot (that is placed in the bedroom) works with every Alexa's smart home device and any music service. I’ve tried to factory reset my Beam, and I’ve found that the two Sonos One, removed from the surround and enabled with Alexa, works correctly too.Also with the factory reset, the Beam doesn’t work. The strange thing is that only the Beam. Alexa is now available in Brazil but I am not able to integrate my Sonos with it seems Sonos Skill is missing, when it will be available?

I have finally, after a year of searching and trial and error found the city of gold. Issue #1 No HDMI ARCSolution #1 Digital Optical AdapterIssue #2 old Sharp TVs don't process digital to digital through HDMI ports. Only TV input playing through Sonos. Solution #2 Therefore had to run Digital Optical into XBOX One rather than TVIssue #3 Now only Xbox One is playing Sonos sound. Hi,I try to wake on lan my pc from my sonos beam. Hi all,  I (like many others) am not having any success getting Alexa on Sonos one gen 2 to play Apple music content via Alexa voice commands here in Ireland. I have unlinked and relinked skills, devices etc in Alexa. I have also set Apple Music as default Streaming service in Alexa app, but Alexa does not find any music on Apple Mysic via voice commands ( yet works perfectly when playing Apple Music content on Sonos app. Any help greatly appreciated.  iphone7 plus running iOS 13.7 with latest Sonos software and Alexa App software. 

I know this has been raised elsewhere on the internet (e.g., Reddit) and I searched back several pages in this forum first to make sure I didn’t find an active recent discussion on this.  I also did a forum search but the most recent reference was a thread from two years ago - but, in any event, please pardon if this is in fact an “oh, no, not this again” topic:Is there any fix or workaround to Alexa obscuring the first couple of second of a song with its lengthy announcement of the song title, the artist, and the music service being played - i.e., a way to get Alexa to wait to actually start the song until AFTER it is done with its announcement rather than speaking over the first few seconds of the track?Thanks, Mike Edit to add device:  I have the Sonos Arc, with a couple of Ones on the way.

Hello, I have a mixture of sonos and amazon echo devices in two different properties.  When I travel from one property (my main house) to the other (my holiday home), the experience on my alexa echo devices is seamless.  If I say alexa play music in both properties it connects to my amazon prime account and plays from amazon music which is set up as my voice service.  However with Sonos when I arrive at my other property and say play music or play radio station xxx nothing happens.  I have to disable the Sonos skill in the alexa app and then set it all up again and then it works.  But then when I return to my main house I have to disable the Sonos skill and set it all back up again.  This is a real pain.  Has anyone found a better way of doing this please?  I would be grateful for any advice you may have

Hello,I have just purchased a Sonos One Gen2, I am very satisfied with the sound quality.I am however disappointed with the voice recognition capability with google assistant. The speaker picks up the "OK Google" relatively well, but then it hardly ever understands what happens next other than if I'm close to the speaker or if the sound is very low.Can you tell me why the speaker is picking up OK Google but not more? Is there a way to check if there is a configuration problem?

I have a Sonos Move and I am using Google Assistant. Now that there is Voice Match, how do I get my Sonos to hear my voice to use my Spotify Account and get another voice for another Spotify Account? The way we log onto the Sonos is through one account right now but seem to only be able to use one Spotify account for both people.

Hi. I’m new to the group and I’m visually impaired.Only a recent problem but my Echo Dot will not play Absolute Radio to a group of sonos speakers. It will only play Absolute Smooth Radio.Was fine until a couple of weeks ago.Can anyone help please.

I have connect my Play:1 with Google assistant and am frequently using my Google Nest Hub to start songs, control playback and volume. But one thing never works, asking it to play another song."Play SONG 1 on Sonos" Works like a charm, but if am currently playing as song and say something like:"Play the song SONG 2"I get the following response:"okay, playing SONG 2 on [name of my Sonos speaker]. I'm sorry that mode isn't available right now" So obviously Google Home is recognising that I'm currently using the Spotify service on Sonos but something (on the Sonos side?) is stopping it. What?  

why i cant use google assistant in israel? on beam? why its matter what country?

Hello! I have a Sonos 1 in the kitchen where I use Google Assistant for music, news and Spotify playback. Music works fine and plays back without issue but we often have an issue where podcasts and specifically CBC World Report playback cuts off early, usually around the same point every day with the speaker stopping the stream mid-sentence after about 4 minutes and instantly announcing “That’s all for now.”All devices updates. No issues with wifi or internet. Any advice would be much appreciated! 

Hello All Due to the BBC radio issue with Google assistant I've had to change to Alexa. I now have an issue with Spotify "Your Daily Mix" playlists from the "Made for You" section (the one to six playlists created by Spotify based one what you've been listening to) - this worked a treat with GA but Alexa can't find them. It can find "Discover Weekly" ok though. Anyone know if it's me doing something wrong? Cheers, Andy.

Having a persistent issue (despite troubleshooting) with Spotify + Sonos. I started experiencing the issue wherein using a voice command to my Sonos One or Beam resulted in Alexa acknowledging the command correctly but then not playing the music (for example “play some jazz”, Alexa responds “Playing Jazz”, but then silence...). Interestingly, while this happens with Spotify (my default music source), when I ask for a radio station (which is streamed by iHeartRadio), it has always worked perfectly without a single exception. I followed the pinned article’s troubleshooting instructions last night (used Amazon web interface to deregister all speakers, removed voice assistant in Sonos app, then re-added it, etc), and this did solve the problem...but only temporarily. This morning only 12 hours later, I again asked to play music, and again Alexa responded as expected, but music did not start. This seems to be a persistent bug; anything that can be done / are others experiencing this? Has anyone gotten Sonos to work as the siren on their home alarm system? I have a Ring but it has a pretty weak siren and would like to get my Sonos to serve this function.  

I used to be able to listen to Beat 106 Scotland via Alexa on my Sonos devices but now none of them work.  The service is enabled through Amazon Alexa.When in the Sonos app, I receive this errorUnable to play ‘listen.m3u’ - the song is not encoded correctly.I have tried adding the radio station through Tune In by adding the URL but it still doesn’t work.Hope someone can help or shed some light as to why it no longer works.

Massive house makeover on the horizon, Sonos Arc looks like it ticks all of the boxes for the TV room along with the sub and a couple of 1SL’s up the rear, but my kitchen and garden need an audio solution to. Hmm, 4 1SL’s and a Sub should work in a 484 square feet kitchen diner space, right?I enter into the negotiation with the wife. “You want to spend £4000 on speakers” was her first question. Well yeah babes, course I do. She uses her 1SL all the time, moves it from room to room, even the garden in the summer so SONOS seems an obvious choice. Wireless, WiFi, fuss free, you get what you pay for in this day and age, yeah? Well, until I try to play music off my S10+ from YouTube and fail miserably. Why isn’t my 1SL in the list of devices I can cast to? This should be easy right?OK so I went around the bizarres with the sales team. I’m not speaking to anyone in the US, that’s for sure.
