Voice control and smart home

I am trying to find out if there is a way I can get Google assistant to work in a country not available yet?I am in the Cayman Islands and we should fall under UK or US settings but Sonos does not group us that way. Is there any way I can get it to work as the assistant works on all my other devices except Sonos. Thanks 

I've just got a sonos move.  All was great until I tried to use voice assistant during playback, you know to change the volume etc!   Voice works fine until music is playing and then the sonos just doesn't pick up the prompt (alexa, or hey google).  Its the same if I'm using Alexa or Google VA and also however music is being played, e.g. Spotify or tunein etc.   Pause the music and it works fine again.

Alexa volume is too loud and does not respond to normal volume control. Even if music is is at its lowest level, Alexa still sounds like it is at 10. This is bizarre. Can't use this device with other people are resting or sleeping anywhere in our small house.  When will this be fixed? 

I’m a bit confused, as I now have the new Amp I so thinking I could add it to HomeKit but it can’t find any sonos devices, what am I doing wrong.Frankly I would have thought sonos would have addressed this in S2 and added the code to scan.While I’m here which isn’t know often, what happened to Ryan S, I can see the normal gang are here which is great - sorry guys just don’t get the time to be on here but miss you all 

I apologise but this is a bit if a rant. For months and months we have been getting a persistent error with Alexa saying Spotify device off line when ever you try and use a voice command. You can manually play it to the Sonos 1 via Spotify but the voice command simply does not work. I should say this used to work correctly with issue what so ever. We have tried everything from every forum. Complete reset upNaming conventionsVoice actions ensuring Spotify is online in the app  You name it we have tried it, to me Alexa has con backwards . you wont get any help or support from Amazon and to me the product is now not fit for purpose. The rest of my extensive sonos speakers work perfectly. Please please please get this fixed

Hello,I am actually building my new house, and planning its sound system.I plan to use an Amp linked to the TV as input, and obviously some speakers. I already own a NAS (Synology 216 Play) which stores my movies and music.As I understand, I might be able to use the Amp as output for my music library inside the NAS, using the S2 app?But here is another question that I cannot answer for now : my family has gifted us an Amazon Echo (we do not have it yet thanks to the lockdown), can I use it with the Sonos S2 app? It seems that the Amazon Alexa app cannot use the NAS as a library (not directly), and as I plan to pilot everything with the S2 app, it would be nice to keep this Echo speaker.  thanks a lot for your tips!

I’m very curious about Sonos Radio HD… I would definetly consider subscribing to it however i never ever use the app to get my music … I always use voice to request for music and this is a must have for me to subscribe…  so my question is can i have Alexa use Sonos Radio as my music service or do  I always have to use the app ?  

Trying very hard to connect sonos 1 to alexa . It used to work . Then stopped . Alexa worked but would not plsy sonos 1 speaker . HAve reset speaker . deleted / restored app both sonos and alexa .  (all speakers work on the sonos app) . Now alexa wont work at all . Alexa app says it is enabled . Sonos shpows speaker . In Sonos services i cannot find voice / alexa option . 6 hours on this . HATE IT .

I’ve had my Sonos system for about eight months and almost exclusively use Alexa and Apple Music (which is my default Alexa music service). It was rock-solid up until the last couple weeks.It used to be that I’d initiate the music via Alexa and the music would start about a microsecond after Alexa read back my specified playlist, album, or song. Now it takes more like 5–10 seconds for the music to start, though sometimes it doesn’t. When it does start, I get drop-outs on some speakers, and sometimes the music just stops. This morning it gets a couple tracks into one of Apple Music’s “Essentials” playlists and then just stops. I wonder if there is any plan to make possible the use of Sonos Move for audioconferencing?  Given that this speaker has also a microphone and a Bluetooth connection, it should be quite straightforward to offer this functionality, isn't it? As for me, I would find it useful to have my Sonos Move at the office and switch now and then in audio conference Mode when needed....

I’m new to Sonos and I installed my first device, a Sonos Move, about 10 days ago.Everything was working fine until this morning when Alexa wouldn’t respond while I was playing an m3u playlist from my Music Library. Through trial and error I determined that she does respond if I pause playback but not while the playlist is playing. I also verified that Alexa responds normally when I’m playing a playlist from Amazon Music.I tried powering it off and on to no avail.Anyone have any ideas?

When searching for devices some of my speakers do not appear on the Alex App? 

It should be made clear that the Sonos Alexa interface is very limited. The sonos speaker will not control any Alexa smart devices or skills. After months of trying to get 3 Alexa enabled Sonos to work i now have an email from Amazon to confirm that smart devices cannot be controlled using the 3rd party speakers. :-(

I use Alexa Amazon as a voice assistant. When I went in Alexa’s settings, I put my Google calendar in the section “Calendar and emails” and after that, I tried to put on the function to receive the sounds notifications of the calendar and then Alexa gave the message that no device was available despite the fact that my Sonos speaker was on and linked with Alexa. I called Amazon’s technicians and they said that this function is available only with their devices, Alexa’s Echo. Do you know if it would be possible to use that function, receive sounds notification from the calendar with another calendar that would come maybe from Alexa’s skills ? Has anyone experienced Sonos (Play 3) not responding to Echo Dot? Alexa seems to recognize speaker but speaker does not play. Any suggestions of how to fix this problem? Thanks!

Alexa on my Beam will turn my Sony TV KD-43XH8196 on / off, adjust volume etc but won't select the Prime Video app to play a show from. I've disabled / re-enabled skills in Alexa app, cleared Alexa off Sonus etc to no avail.Any ssuggestions  would be great

Hi, My Amazon echo and my Bose Speaker 300 are able to alert me when I have an Alexa notification by displaying a yellow light. I get notifications when Amazon delivers a package and it is really useful as I know I have something at my door. Does the Sonos One (gen 2) have the ability to do something similar? Maybe with one of the lights on top?

I turned on continued conversation yesterday after setting up Google Assistant on my three speakers (Beam and two Sonos One). I didn’t like it so decided to turn it off but realized today that the speakers are still listening after my initial command. I tried toggling the continued conversation setting in both the Google Home and Google Assistant apps on my iPhone (iOS 14.3) but nothing has worked. I tried leaving the toggle on for a few minutes and then turning back off but all three still give a second ping and listen after the first command. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to solve it?This is annoying but also gives me major privacy concerns since at least this feature is listed as “off” in Google’s apps but is actually still running on the devices!!!

I have been using Alexa on our Sono One for months with no real issue but in the past couple of weeks the timers have become unreliable. It's not a consistent problem but it seems that most attempts to set a timer are now failing. There are three scenarios: say "Alexa, set timer for 10 minutes" > no audible response from Alexa to confirm that it has been set but if then asked "Alexa, how much time left on the timer?", Alexa confirms that timer is set. Bought a Sonos Move. Opened and installed and everything worked correctly at parent's house using either Alexa or Google with Spotify. Couple days later brought it home, installed and voice commands are not returning a result except maybe local ones like "what time is it?" If I say "Alexa / Ok Google Play Justin Bieber" it replies "Ok playing Justin Bieber on Spotify" and nothing happens. I switched default player to Amazon Music and I still get the same result. I have reset the Sonos app, factory rebooted and reinstalled the speaker. Removed the device from both GH and Alexa. And nothing. I feel like setting it up previously somewhere else may have caused some conflict but can't be sure especially since I reset and reboot. Please help! 

Hi,Is there a solution to have Google Assistant stop announcing which playlist or song is going to be played via Spotify using my Sonos speakers? I like to have the music start without Google Assistance actually announcing it first. Thanks for your input.
