Voice control and smart home

Puerto Rico, to the surprise of some, is USA, yet Google is not available in Sonos. It is available in every other device that I have tried.Pls fix.

This all used to work.  Now it doesn’t.  Or maybe my memory has gone.  My playbar is connected to my tv and volume works fine when watching tv.  But I could have sworn that I could say “Alexa, play my music on Sonos” and it would play my music.  The Alexa Sonos skill is enabled.  But when I ask Alexa to play my music on Sonos, it says “Shuffling your music on Amazon Music” but nothing comes out of the playbar.  Nothing comes out of anywhere (no echo/dot devices  play anything which is expected).  I’m at a loss.  

Is there a way to change which speakers microphones are used for Google Assistant? When I had a Soundboard the surround Ones used to work perfectly. Since buying an Arc it seems to only use its own microphone which doesn't hear very well.

Hello bonjour, English : I am not sure of the possibility ton ask Siri to control my ikea-Sonos Symfonisk : I have added it in Apple HOME app, but it says : there is no control available. Same with Google assistant. (in France) Français : je voulais essayer de controle mon Symfonisk avec siri ou google mais visiblement, aucun contrôle ne semble possible même en l’ayant ajouté dans les applications Maison de Apple et Google Home. (En France) 

I have quite a complex setup of:3 Sonos Ones w/ Alexa in individual rooms2 Sonos ones (w/o Alexa) and a sonos beam w/Alexa as a surround sound A bedroom with a playbarA boost Every single Sonos/Alexa product requires me to ask Alexa twice to do anything. It’s quite interesting. Any ideas please? 

Alexa responds when her name is spoken and after I ask her to play for instance BBC radio 6 music she says, Sorry I’m having trouble please try in a little while.  What is the problem here.  I’ve tried removing the voice assistant and re-adding as well as disabling/re-enabling the skill and linking my BBC account within the Alexa app but still get the same message.   All devices are up to date.   Same thing happens on both Play One and my Beam.  Used to work flawlessly but stopped working some months ago.   I thought it might be the wifi but the Beam is about 2 feet from the router.   Any suggestions before I lose the will to live.   Thanks in advance

When saying “Alexa, play Spotify” Alexa chimes and responds “here is Spotify” but nothing plays. Same result when requesting to play SiriusXM or any other service. However, Spotify plays when using the Sonos app on my phone but when saying “Alexa, pause” Alexa chimes but doesn’t pause the music. Alexa does however respond to requests like “Alexa, what’s the weather?”  It seems while it’s recognizing the linked services it’s just not controlling them. 

Hello All, new to the Sonos community here. I am wanting to play music in my “upstairs group” which consists of two echo dots and a recently added Sonos Arc however, I am unable to do so. I did see, a few years ago, where this feature was unavailable (it was either one or the other -SONOS group OR ALEXA devices Group but not both) and was wondering if anything has changed? I have a Playbase & a Google Home.  The playbase is called “sonos” in the Google home setup.  I can give commands to my phone or to the Google Home to control the volume on the Playbase so I know they are talking to each other.  But, what else can I do with Google Assisant?  Every guide I find talks about commands for a device like the Beam that has a microphone build it.  I would like to be able to:start music playing on the playbase (one of the Sonos services), pause music that is playing on the playbase, change input on the playbase, perhaps other stuff.Has anyone with a playbase done ANYTHING other than control volume?Thanks in advance.

Hi, after needing to change my region from Argentina to Spain to use Google Home (I really don’t know what's the point of changing region if I have the same supported language on SS/GH, anyways it works like magic and its awesome), i was thinking about linking Sonos with SmartThings, but the Sonos integration does no appear on the list, is this a region thing or that a cloud integration is not available? (I mean local is 100% better, but I don't have a hub / can't find one anywhere and it would be nice to have the option) Thanks

Hi has anyone else had difficulty with Alexa activation with Ones? I'm trying to get BBC radio to play in one room, Alexa announces BBC Sounds app, but nothing happens. It works fine in other rooms. I've read a lot of negative feedback over the last week or so to about voice activation, has something happened recently?

I know this was discussed a few years ago but it appears the conversation is now closed and, I believe, still unresolved.i have numerous Alexa deviles all called “computer” but my Bem, and my One’s require “Alexa” as the wake word. I would love to replace my aging Amazon devices with Sonos but not if I have to change the wake word for all of these devices.Surely the engineers can figure out a way to solve this problem. ( Iknow, stop calling me Shirley…) 

Hello Guys, I have the sonos beam and google assistant installed. I have a Samsung 2020 TU8005 TV, the google assistant will not “TURN OFF TV”.The system works great - “TURN ON” “VOLUME up down”, etc… all of them work.But “TURN OFF TV” does not work.Any idea? Thanks

I have a Sonos Playbar, two Sonos Subs, and two Sonos One SL’s. Sounds absolutely amazing. BUT, I want to integrate my Amazon Echo Speaker community to it. I have made previous significant investments around the house and want to be able to utilize the multi room music feature through Alexa and integrate the Sonos and Other speakers. I have previously purchased a Bluetooth transmitter/receiver with a fiber optic output in attempt to trick the Sonos system into recognizing it as TV fiber input. Yes, it did work, but the timing was off, and even with the ability to adjust the milliseconds, I could never get it right.  So, does the Sonos Connect, Sonos Port, or Sonos Amp allow for this to happen? If not, has anyone ever been successful in making this happen? 

I know others have this issue.  (going on 4 years for me) is there a resolution or am I just wasting my time with Sonos products working with Alexa playing music?  I don't want to throw anymore good money at this problem.  the speakers sound great and I love them but the main purpose is to stream music with Alexa and it is just too frustrating.  I play instruments and like to play a song on Sonos to learn and it just isn't efficient to restart song after asking to play.

I have a Sonos One.I have an Alexa Routine that does three things, which works perfectly on my gen 1 Echo.Turn off lights Play Flash Briefing Start Sleep Sounds appWhen I invoke this on the Sonos speaker, it stops after step 2.  How can I make this work like it does on a speaker less than 25% of the price of the Sonos One?

Curious to know if any update from a stream posted a year ago regarding Sonos App allowing to select multiple languages for Alexa Assistant on Sonos Beam. Alexa app allows for echo devices to have this option i.e English and French - but no apparent way to do this via Alexa app to touch Beam settings.

(YouTube music is linked in Google assistant and Sonos S2) My google mini has no problem with either command. My google Sonos speakers respond as above. My google best hub which has my Sonos speakers set as it's default audio device responds as above.. so it's the playing on Sonos part that fails.  Anyone have a solution ?       

Please give us the ability to schedule when night mode should be on and off. It’s very easy to forget turning it off the day after use. I had it on a few weeks by mistake before realizing it and people were unimpressed by the sound of my Beam.

I use Alexa to voice control my Sonos One’s Can I use one of my Sonos One’s to voice control a pair of Sonos Five?Kind regards Kim

Hi! About year I cann't start playing Tidal by Google Assistant. I have One gen 1. S2. From Sonos App and Tidal App I can start playing without problems. TuneIn and YouTube music starts through GA correctly.Dialogue:- Hey, Google, play music on Tidal".- Ok. Playing music on Tidal. Sonos is not available at the moment.What i am doing wrong?

Hi,   i have replaced my SONOS play:1 with a SONOS One to get acces to Google Assistant commands. After a succesful setup and adding my Google Assistant in the SONOS app and adding my Google Play Music premium account I though I was set. But apparantly there are major issues: The ‘OK Google’ Command works. After that, 95% of the commands stop working. The microphone just blinks ad thats it. I found a topic about that where a SONOS employee answered that it would be fixed and in a timely matter. This a thread of 4 months (!!!) ago. Is there ANY update on this (No Alexa or another speaker is not a option for me). How is this still an issue? Hi all,I have an Arc, a Sub, and two Play:3's as surrounds. I noticed that when asking Google Assistant on the Arc to play a song (from YouTube Music, in this case), its response cuts off the first few seconds of the song. However, when asking the assistant to play a song on a Google device, such as Google Nest Mini, it finishes its response and the song plays afterward without the beginning being cut off.Just in case anyone else may have experienced this scenario also, I spoke with a senior Sonos engineer last week who said he would submit this as a feature request, so maybe a future update will address this.Ultimately, this is nothing more than a very minor inconvenience, but it would be nice to be able to hear a song in its entirety without interruption when requesting it through Google Assistant.

I have Sonos throughout my house but I recently added 2x HomePod minis. I mainly want to use the HomePod minis for the Siri function, rather than as actual speakers. id be interested to know how others have set up HomePod mini to work with Sonos.For example, I have one HomePod mini physically in the kitchen with a play 5 and a Sonos move also in my kitchen. Whenever I want the HomePod to play to the play 5 and move I say “hey Siri, play … in the kitchen”. However in order to prevent the HomePod mini also playing the music on its own speaker (which I don’t want it to do - as the sound quality is inferior to the play 5 and move) I have designated the HomePod mini to be in a separate room on HomeKit (I called the room “kitchen HomePod” whereas the play 5 and move are in the HomeKit room “kitchen”). If I just say “hey Siri play...” then it just plays in the HomePod mini only. It would be nice if I could set the HomePod mini to always default to play music on specific speakers. it all seems
