Voice control and smart home

Press and hold the Play/Pause button on a player to group it with the last active room. This makes up for not being able to group rooms via Alexa.(Although I still hope it's added) If I walk into a room that isn't part of my group I just hold the Play/Pause button down and its added to the group. Don't have to find my phone or open the App. Works great! I use it a lot if I'm watching TV and walk into the kitchen to do something. Press the button and you're grouped.

iTunes library

Why is it not possible to play music from my iTunes library using the Alexa voice command? Limiting this functionality to only a few streaming services is a big disappointment, especially as I have quite a large iTunes music library.

The problems I've had include: difficulties with set up, long delays in responding to requests, it thinks it's in Seattle for weather and time, it's not sensitive enough to the wake word. Here's what Amazon UK say: "I understand from query that the Alexa on the Sonos One is not working as expected. "After checking your account I could see that the product you are referring to is not displaying in your amazon.co.uk account. "When I researched further I found the device to be registered on amazon.com. That is the reason when you've try playing on Sonos One, you are facing a long delay. "As the device was recently launched in Amazon.co.uk, the device skills and features are still under development as per our customers requirement and has not yet been added as a supported device in UK. That is the reason the device is showing on Amazon.com and when you give it any command it is unable to accept it or understand as it would be researching on Amazon.com." Any comments from Son

I have 2 Sonos systems at my house and cottage (14 & 12 zones) that are connected to the same Sonos account. Will this cause any issues with playback or Amazon Echo integration. I have been having issues on both systems recently but I assumed that it was due to poor internet connectivity.

New Sonos One won't update, I'm looking for some help please - keep getting error message 30 on them both

I can't access Alexa through my Sonos One. Also, the light beneath the mic will not come on - perhaps related? The Sonos side works fine. I can see the Sonos One on my Sonos app, and can play music through it. I just can't talk to it. Or rather, it can't hear me.

Just updated to the public beta and setup sonos and alexa apps. Cant get anything to play just says ok or i dont know what went wrong I have 5 devices all discovered but none work. Any ideas where to start problem solving Kind regards Michael

I have several echo dots and Sonos speakers. When engaging with Alexa, the volume on all the speakers is reduced. The one exception to this is the Playbar when playing audio from the TV rather than music. Is this due to be fixed ?

I have a Sonos 1 grouped with a Play 5. When I ask Alexa to change the volume, the change only occurs on the Sonos 1 and not the play 5. Has anyone else experienced this behavior?

Hi, if I say Alexa, play Triple M Melbourne in the bedroom, Alexa responds with Cannot find a station based on Triple M Melbourne, instead of actually playing the station. Other stations work fine. How can I resolve this?

All connected. added some music to the queue in the app... can pause music one time in 5, can't get amazon music unlimited to play any music at all using the phrases supplied here, It just plays whatever song is in the queue, so basically at a loss of how to use this, I have the echo dot and each has a play 5 or playbar. cant get the volume to go up or down and has some generic message about can't do it while there is no music playing - even though the queue plays.. guys have we really waited a year for this?

I've just got 2 Sonos one players and configured Alexa, works about 75% of the time and I think it's because both are responding when I say Alexa. Is there any way to make only 1 of the Sonos One players respond when you say Alexa?

I got alexa connected, but I cannot seem to get her to play on more than one room at a time. She does not recognize Everywhere and she doesn't response to "play X in Kitchen and Living room" just one or the other.

Alexa is only playing one track from Amazon music. I have seen this fixed with a patch on here for Spotify. Is there similar for Amazon Music? Also; Sonos.com states that you can play all your music on Sonos using Alexa. My music is on my computer and in Apple Music. How do I play that? Diagnostic number 8000800

When using Alexa for opening the garage with gogogate it works only when I start with: Alexa, trigger open garage. What I need to change to just say: Alexa, open garage?

Very disappointed so far with voice control. Been waiting for nearly a year and finally it's here. But you can't voice control via alexa to play locally stored files of Spotify the no1 streaming service. Does anyone know how long it will be before Spotify or local files will be supported? Really surprise Sonos would release this without Spotify support, since we have all been waiting so long.

I was looking at the Sonos one since it has Alexa integrated and Google assistant might come in the future. But i only have free music services and no paid/premium subscriptions. I was wondering if its still worth getting the Sonos One or consider Bose Sound touch 10 with Amazon echo dot (amounts to similar price) which adds Bluetooth and Aux input.

Can Alexa be used to control my system from each device?

New to the sonos and alexa game, treated myself to a sonos one. Want to love it, but it's currently a fairly useless, but nice sounding white box. All connected up ok, but when I ask it to play anything on tunein for example it says, "playing bbc radio" but then doesn't find or change the station. Only way I can get it to play is direct through the sonos app. Help?!

Hi all, Got the new Sonos 1 with Alexa yesterday and experiencing some annoying issues. I must state that i have had it working and playing sounds. But now i say "Alexa play...." and she says she is playing it but no sound. On my Alexa app it has the device name of Sonos 1 and the 'Family Room' name. Sonos 1 says online but Alexa says she is playing in the 'Family Room'. Its like there are 2 devices and she plays to the wrong one. I should state that askkng her a question gets an audible answer. Oncw i have it working, if i unplug ita back to not working again... At the moment i am somewhat disappointed with the product as i expected more. Any help much appreciated. CL

I would like to play same music on my Sonos speakers and Echo speakers. Will this feature be added?

I should have done my homework better - I assumed I could just replace one of my Play:1 surround speakers with a Play One. I was wrong on several counts 1) You can't pair a Play:1 and a Play One - Setup up won't allow you to do it. 2) There's no screw fixing point on the Play One - there is a button on the rear instead. Had to use double-sided foam tape to mount the speaker on my floor stand (obv. before I discovered point 1 above) 3) They don't match - the :1 is grey, and the One is black. They looked weird either side of the sofa. 4) I can't use the 'Echo' wake word - both of my other Echos use 'Echo' and the family is very used to this now. Also the Play One isn't that far from the kitchen Echo, so I would like to just have one word to shout out, and let the Echos sort out which one responds. 5) They sound different - I think the One sounded a bit richer, and this maybe something that could be resolved by clever tuning, but given pint (1), it doesn't seem likely this is somethi
