A bit disappointed. I had an Amazon Fire TV Cube for my new TCL Roku TV and it worked great. It especially could turn the TV on and off via command. However, I did not like the audio on the TV so I thought I'd move the cube to another TV and get the Beam for this TV. I'm using just a plain Amazon Fire TV with the TV. The Beam definitely has better sound, but I can no longer turn the TV on or off. First, yes I have the CEC settings correct. I have connected the Beam to my Alexa account, and set it up as the device to control my Amazon Fire TV. I can search and pull up a movie and control playback. My Bean is attached to the ARC HDMI input. But I cannot turn the TV on or off. This is an issue because the Beam is so large, it covers the TV's remote signal detector and I have to stand up to be able to get the signal through to turn the TV on or off. Both Sonos One and Echo Dot cannot play music via Sonos speakers. All is set-up correctly, speakers were found by Alexa Sonos skill and named Kitchen and Living. However, when I ask Alexa to play any music in Kitchen or in Living, she replies that she cannot find a device that is able to play music... the funny thing is: it does work occasionally, but fully at random it seems. Maybe once in 30 times or so. I have tried all kinds of resets, new installations, renaming speakers, re-enabling skills etc. Nothing seems to solve the issue. I first thought it might be the Sonos One that was the issue, but then I also got a Dot and that gave the same result. Who knows what this might be?

If I disable Alea or turn off the microphone, can I still use Airplay to play songs from my iphone? I have 5 play:1s and one play:3, but I want to use airplay and then would need a Play One. Don't care for stray microphones in the house. Yep, I like to be in control of things in my house. Call me nuts.

When trying to play Amazon music on Sonos using Alexa (dot or show ) to start. It plays one song then stops. I start with Alexa play 80's music on the porch. This happens on all the Sonos units. In addition when I start Sonos music via the phone app regardless of the service I am unable to stop it using Alex. This used to work, what's up? I just recently added an Amazon show

I just got an Alexa dot and am trying to connect it to my Sonos. There's an error saying I need to add the speakers to my account before Alexa can connect with them. I tried to phone SONOS and the wait time was one hour. Yikes. I feel like this should be easy. Can anyone help? 🙂

Are there any clues that on 06.06.2018 a play:5 with Alexa support will be released? I am planning to buy a play:5 and I am not sure if I should wait?

I ask Alexa to turn off the TV; she does and say “okay” but then ~20 seconds later it turns back on. Even if I turn off the tv using the tv remote or with a long push on the power button (on the tv)

The new Amazon Echo Plus has a built in ZigBee controller, so it can cut out needing to purchase "hubs" or "bridges" when pairing with smart home devices. Consider Phillips Hue - the smart home lighting used to require a bridge to pair with Alexa, however now if you have the Echo Plus (which has a ZigBee controller) you don't. With that said, does the Sonos Beam have the ZigBee controller built in?

I have setup my echo dot and update the app and it does not work? Is this not supported in Norway? If not, will it ever? :?

Hey guys, Before I added the Beam to the family room, I had a sonos one setup for music and Alexa. Now placed the beam in the family room and moved the one to a different room. The beam/tv is now called “Family Room” I have Philips hue lightbulbs in the family room and when I used to say “Alexa, turn off the family room lights”. The light would turn off as expected. Now when I say the same phrase. The tv turns off and not the lights. It seems Alexa doesn’t listen to the full phrase and just thinks I want the tv off Any suggestions? Thanks Kevin

Hi, I’ve already got a Play:1 and today I bought a Sonos Beam. The Play:1 is in the kitchen and the Beam is in the lounge. I know that the Beam has Alexa built in and the Play:1 does not. But, what I read in store was “Play:1 is Alexa compatible when connected to an Alexa hub”. My question is: can the Play:1 use the Beam as an Alexa hub? And subsequently, can I talk to Alexa through the Play:1 because it’ll be connected to the Beam and therefore an Alexa hub? Thanks

Since yesterday, if we tell Alexa to 'play realjazz on SiriusXM,' she responds with 'playing realjazz on SiriusXM' but no music ever starts. If you start the music through the app using her as a zone, it plays, but if you say 'Alexa shut up' she doesn't stop the music as usual. It seems the Sonos functionality of Alexa is tweaked somehow. Other non-Sonos functionality of Alexa seems fine, like if I ask her to tell me a joke or the weather, she does so joyfully. How can I fix this?

Hi, I have a mix of Sonos One and older speakers. I have a Play3 in the baby’s room and every time I speak to Alexa in any room it’ll mute the Play3 which might be playing white noise for the baby. I tried removing the speaker from the Alexa devices but it’ll still get muted any time I say Alexa. How can I make this stop?

Trying to link my FireTV to my Sonos One, but when I click on the Link URL, will get a message stating ‘Sorry, we could not find any devices to link’. Network strength is very strong, and I’ve spent the last 30 minutes trying to diagnose the issue. Any ideas?

Hi, I would like to purchase 3 Sonos Ones for our bedrooms and get rid of our amazon dots. If my teenagers have their own amazon prime login with the Amazon family share would they be able to login with their accounts but still have the speakers in their own room in the controller app?

Hi, Alexa is now speaking french for some weeks. I now control my sonos speakers via my Echo dot and the Sonos Skill... and this works great! Why don't you let Alexa directly work on the Sonos One and Beam in Belgium like it does in France?

Does anyone know how to remove an Alexa account from the SONOS app on an Android? 1) I removed the SONOS skill from the Alexa app, deregistered the SONOS, and then logged out of the Alexa app. 2) I logged out of the Amazon shopping app. 3) In the SONOS app, I go to "Voice Services" > and the Amazon Alexa account is still there. When I select it, I have the standard options for Room Settings, View Alexa Setup, and Learn More. Neither of the three have an option to remove the account. Am I missing something here? How do I remove the Alexa account?

All has been great with my Sonos One for months. Come in the door and ask Alexa to play stuff and she always obliged. All was great this morning while working in the kitchen and told her to stop playing and she did. Came in this afternoon and called her name and don’t get the bong. Called her again... nothing. Third time and nothing so I pulled her plug, waited a minute and plugged her back in. After a few minutes still no response to ‘Alexa.’ I even yelled right in her ear. Any ideas to get her working again? The app says something about no internet connection but everything is working fine elsewhere as far as that is concerned. Not sure what I’m missing.

I see you can ask Google Home Mini what song is playing on Spotify and you will get the relevant answer but it won’t tell you the name of a song playing on internet radio on Tunein. Can you ask Alexa on Sonos One what song is playing on internet radio, for example, from WBGO JAZZ radio in the same way you can on Spotify?
