Got it plugged into the ARC and Alexa is working but it doesn’t control my TV. Does it not work with Directv? Thanks

mzemm, isn't DirectTV just your channel service provider, rather than the actual make/model of the TV?
I didn’t know if Directv service would get in the way of having Alexa turn the tv on/off or change Chanels etc. I have a year old Samsung curved 4K. I got it to turn the tv on but that’s the extent. Do you know how to have Alexa perform more tv functions through the beam?
If your directtv or other hdmi devices have CEC controls enabled, then its best to turn those off... leave your Beam in the HDMI-ARC port and enable 'Anynet+' on the TV and you should be able to get Alexa to..

1. Turn the TV on and off, though you may need to have the TV set on the HDMI 'input' that your Beam is connected to.
2. Adjust and mute the volume.

Note: Make sure you have 'Auto Turn Off' enabled in the Anynet+ settings too.
