Hello! As I’ve seen more and more apps adopt Live Activities, I have begun noticing their absence for the Sonos app on iOS. There are a few simple use cases that I think would be better achieved through a Live Activity vs having to do a heavy load of the app as is required today: Quick playback controls: play/pause/next/previous of current playing content Volume controls for the currently playing group Playing track information, including playback progress and album art. To keep things simple, I would suggest the Live Activity would only provide the above for the last selected and active (playing) speaker group from within the app. This avoids over designing the live activity to have to have a group picker which I think start to over complicate the experience. This would make it incredibly simple to perform some of the most basic and essential functions of my Sonos experience from my device’s Lock Screen and even on my Apple Watch. Thanks for the consideration!
I can not find any Directions and pictures for installing the Ultra Arc flush wall mount.
I’m considering replacing my connect amp so I can update my system from the s1 app. My question is what is the best option? - by best I mean bang for buck because I’m not planning on dropping g a load of cash on a load of new components. Current situation: my main listening is a connect amp running a pair of floor standing speakers - mission cirrus so decent enough but nothing special. I also have a pair of play 1s and a pair of one sl’s.Aim: I want to use the updated app so, short of splitting the system, the connect amp will need to be replaced. Connecting to the TV would be a bonus. I live in a compact open plan house so playing at high volume can disturb the rest of the family. Possible options I am considering: find a 2nd hand gen2 connect amp, connect a sub with a pair of either play1 or one sl, replace the amp with a soundbar with the option of using a pair of speakers for surround. Any recommendations please?
Hi all here.I have a Sonos Ray speaker that I’ve set up and connected to my system. I’ve also paired the remote control with the Sonos system, and it should now be able to control the volume up and down. The TV is a new LG 43" 4K LED TV (model 43UT91006LA). Although it was challenging, I managed to connect the remote control to the Sonos Ray multiple times. However, the system still isn’t able to adjust the volume. What could be causing this issue?Hope some knows what to do here.Moderator edit: Corrected Roam to Ray
I have a setup with HomePods 2 connected as a Stereo Pair to AppleTV. But I need a bit more bass. Can Sonos Sub or SubMini provide me that extra bass I’m looking for. Can they connect directly or will I need to use a bridge like Belkin SoundForm Connect using AirPlay2 to connect. As I do not have the option of Apple AirPort Express which seems to be the best solution and was suggested by many online.
Moderator Edit - Translation by Google:I bought Sonos devices for hundreds of euros and they don't work!!!!!!! I've tried everything, it's a mess, and I regret choosing to work with Sonos. I feel pretty ripped off and then you get plenty of advertising, make sure it works first SONOS!!!!!!!!!
I have 20 some Sonos devices, spread out over 3 locations. When is Sonos going to offer a full rollback to S1 ? S1 is absolutely bulletproof. The Sonos company and their CEO need to stop all production and focus their energy completely on rebuilding this app and offering a rollback.
Hoping someone can help, I'm having issues watching isp catch up TV and Netflix on my smart tv's, am thinking it might be my gen1 sonos units. From the Cisco switch I have a smaller netgear switch to which one of the smart tvs is connected as well as one of the sonos components, all other sonos 4 sonos components connect on sonos.net. HiI have a newly renovated garage/party room of 88 square meters where I would like to set up Sonos speakers. In addition to the mentioned square meters, there is also a very high ceiling, and the room totals 400 cubic meters. Walls and ceilings are covered with wood-concrete (Troldtekt) which is somewhat sound-absorbing.Would 4 Sonos Five speakers and 1 Sub 4 be able to fill the room with good and loud music?Thank you in advance for your answer.Best regardsNiels
I am sure all our issues has been discussed before but a search for anything around ‘volume’, ‘controls’, ‘slider’ or ‘app’ comes back with 100’s of results. Our Sonos products:- 3 Play one- 1 Sub- Newest/Latest Sonos app (iOS) S2- Sonos multi room/group (2 rooms/groups with same music but different volumes)- Spotify Premium Family account - Superior glassfiber internet (1.000 Mb up/down)- Stable WiFi 6 router and access points (Fritzbox). Many smart devices, all working correctly. We tried a Sonos cable connection and WiFi connection. The Sonos cable connection is even worse. - Good WiFi reception on all Sonos speakers- Apple iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro to operate the Sonos app. We have been using Sonos for 8 years now. At the first 7 years we were very enthusiastic about it. The last 12 months we hardly ever use Sonos anymore. The app updates we had to suffer are absolutely horrible!!!! Downgrading is impossible… 😔Most of the time we listen to music via Sonos for 15 minutes or so and
We recently bought a house that has an old speaker system built into it with approximately 10-12 speakers scattered throughout the home in the ceiling. All the wires come together at a central location with each individual speaker associated with an individual coaxial cable (1841A 2.25 ghz). The old owner took the old speaker system with them so I am unsure what the previous existing speaker system was. Is there a Sonos product that can adapt/connect to a old system like this or any product recommendations for something like this? Something that can connect 10+ ports or an adapter for those cables? Thanks in advance
Hello,I have a Sonos Arc Ultra and am looking to set up 2 rear surround sound speakers for it. Unfortunately the back of my room is difficult from a power wiring perspective so I’m thinking of using non Sonos speakers that don’t require power. I would buy an Amp to connect them into the Sonos system but just wanted to confirm if I would be able to set them up as rear surrounds under this setup? Or does it require purchasing Sonos speakers? Please let me know. Thanks,ZanderModerator Edit - Adjusted font colour.
Hvorfor fungere mine sonos 1 surroundhøjttalere kun på nogle få særligt udvalgte film og ikke på TV’et generelt?
Hey guys,I just purchased the Sonos Arc Ultra and Sub 4. I am super impressed with both of these.my question is - I wanted to activate credit towards my next purchase but can’t seem to do it with these 2 x items, is this because they simply haven’t been added yet or am I doing something wrong? thanks in advance
I have purchased a Sonos five and got the app. On occasion others in my home want to share their music. How can that happen?
I had to come here and let it be known. I just replaced the hdmi cable that came in the box with the arc ultra, with a high quality fiber optic HDMI e-arch cable; and the decrease in audio onset is very noticeable. I’d say the onset reduction is no less than 3/4ths (probably ~3/8ths) of a second. But significant none the less. Let it be known this took place on the the ultimate immersive set with the arc ultra.
Will there be an update to make the volume louder while using TV SWAP on the Sonos Ace? It’s incredibly low compared to other headphones available. Please make adjustments .
I have Sonos era100 and mini sub I want to connect to my ceiling mounted EPSON CO-FH02 projector. What do I need to complete this?
HiI currently have an office setup with a Beam and two Play:1 as surrounds which works fine. I want to add sound to a small gym I’ve setup in the garage (lowest cost ideally). Gym has 2 walls and a garage door and is 7x7 feet.I want to be able to setup so that I have two seperate groups in the Sonos App so I can play from either the office or the gym. What would you recommend?
I have an LG BX OLED TV and a Beam connected via HDMI ARC, and I also use Sony Bluetooth headphones. Every time I try to play TV audio through Bluetooth, it switches back to ARC after 2 seconds. The only solution I’ve found is to physically disconnect the HDMI cable from the Beam, but that’s obviously not ideal. Turning off HDMI-CEC (Simplink on LG TVs) has been suggested, but it doesn’t really solve the problem because Simplink and HDMI-CEC keeps reactivating automatically. This forces me to go into the connection menu repeatedly to disable it, which is frustrating. The fact that this issue persists after years is unacceptable. The Beam and the TV keep prioritizing ARC, completely ignoring the user’s preference to play audio through Bluetooth. It’s infuriating that neither LG nor SONOS has addressed this problem properly. If I want to use Bluetooth headphones to avoid disturbing others in the room, I shouldn’t have to deal with my soundbar reconnecting to ARC and blasting sound at f
Bonne et douce fin d'année Gaetan Moderator Edit - Translation by Google:Hello everyone, until then I was calm and serene with my 2 small Sonos Roams coupled as a stereo pair. Impossible to turn it off or do a reset. What to do? Call support? But how can they intervene on the speaker? Thank you for any possible help. Happy and sweet end of year Gaetan
I like the overall sound quality from my Sonos One and Sonos Move speakers. However, the volume levels change dramatically from song to song. I use Alexa voice service and Apple Music streaming. Why hasn’t Sonos implemented volume leveling???
Upgrading my surrounds with ERA 300 (already purchased, with the Sonos wall mounting brackets).I have included a photo of my rear wall, which the couch is against and includes a large window.Does anyone have placement tips?
Hi allI’m looking for some advice on a home cinema set up.I’ve got a set of old KEF Egg 2001.3 surround speakers and subwoofer, which was linked to an Onkyo receiver. I bought the system in 2011 ish, and recently upgraded our TV so has made the Onkyo redundant.I am a big Sonos fan, have an Era 300, 3 Sonos One’s and a Roam around the house, and wondering what to do with getting better home cinema sound.Replace the Onkyo receiver with a newer AVR which has Dolby atmos, HDR etc - I’ve had a recommendation for a DENON Receiver for around £379 Add the PORT to then connect the set up to Sonos Get a Beam now, and then look to upgrade my set up with Era 100s and Sonos sub, and get rid of my existing KEF speakers and Onkyo receiver. Our living room with TV isn’t a huge space (around 4m x 4m), so don’t think we need the higher end Sonos stuff. If I did 3 - is it worth keeping the KEF subwoofer and would this work with Sonos, or is it better to just sell it with the speakers and get a Sonos sub
What should I buy first? a Sub gen 4 or two Era 100? I have a medium room and I want a home theater, I can't buy two Era 300 for space reasons. After I would look for a way to add Era 300.
