I have a 75” Roku tv in my medium sized bedroom. Wondering if the arc ultra provides enough bass and will fill the room as a standalone. If I’m going to end up needing a sub I’d likely go with the beam 2 with sub mini. But I like the idea of a single unit, as well as the aesthetics of the bigger bar with that size TV. Thanks!

sorry but this community is made up of only questions. no one answers.

Costs aside, if you have that size TV, I would opt for the larger soundbar even if I had to add the Sub Mini at a later date.

If you can purchase from a  supplier that has a return policy, get the Ultra and test it first. If it dosent provide the sound you are looking for, return it and get the Beam and sub.

@Pools-3015 I appreciate the recommendation! I’m really torn because I’ve heard so many great things about the bean 2/sub mini, but just seems too small for 75”. I think you’re right that the best way is to just test it out.

Since you opted for a 75” TV and you are already concerned about bass, I recommend ARC ULTRA and SUB.

Do you plan on adding surrounds?

@buzz Possibly at some point, but because my bed is against the wall there isn’t really a way to set up in rear, would just be on the nightstands next to the bed. I’m not as concerned with surrounds, mostly bass quality and voice clarity. What is your argument for the Arc Ultra with sub vs the bean 2 with sub? Is it solely Tv size?

ARC presents a wider sound stage. I think that this is more appropriate for the large TV. By placing that large TV in the bedroom, I’m assuming that you like things ‘large’. This is not a criticism, just a realization. SUB better suits that ‘large’ model. Two SUB’s is even more fun.

@buzz LOL fair point. The main reason for the tv size is because my bedroom has an extended sort of “sitting area” off the main part of the room so it’s a fairly long distance from my bed to the tv and I didn’t want to be squinting or straining.

If the TV is trapped in a smaller area off the main bedroom, the L/R of a soundbar that projects out the ends could be somewhat lost and a traditional L/R speaker set driven by an AMP would be better because the L/R will come straight at you, rather than unsuccessfully attempting to surround you.

With regard to your original question of BEAM 2 vs ARC ULTRA, they are different classes of product. The midrange is clearer in ARC ULTRA and ULTRA has enough bass that you may think that a MINI is not justified.
