I use a Sanos Era100 for my PC sound. When switching screen or even low sound results in the speaker switching off/standby mode type.
Is there away to just have it on as normal all the time?

The low power / standby mode is not possible to disable.
There is a topic here on using Sonos as PC speakers you might want to look at, might be a work-around there.
