from prior home, i have a gen 1 system including sonos connect amp that feeds my patio speakers.  have moved to different home and would like to make the existing high quality speakers used for ceiling into sonos capability … do i need to get another connect amp?  or is there an easier solution? i have heard bad stories about connecting non gen 1 components to gen 1 items … is that something to be concerned about??

I just realized that some time in the recent past the rooms/speakers starting switching their position in the Rooms view if you select or deselect them. It seems to me that it wants to keep the selected speakers at the top and the deselected ones at the bottom, but that is terrible behaviour. If I want to transfer from one room to another now the list gets jumbled several times, and I alwas have to rescan the list and see where the item is I am looking for.If you absolutely must have the selected one at the top, do it only after opening the view, so that the order is kept while the screen is open, and if I close it and reopen it it gets build anew, but like this is is simply confusing. For a minute I thought I was in the Spotify app, that’s how bad it was ;)

Hello, I have located a TV and Sonos beam in a separate room to the sonos amp and a HDMI matrix that connects to multiple HDMI input sources. These sources are connected to the HDMI matrix and the TV is one of the outputs that connect to the matrix over ethernet connection via the TV's HDMI ARC port.I'm wondering if I can connect the Beam to the Amp via ethernet in one of the Amp ports, connecting the other Amp port to the network. And then use the Amps HDMI port to connect with the Sonos converter to optical audio to connect to the matrix?My objective is to group the Beam and speakers connected to the amp together and have them play sound based on switched devices on the HDMI matrix, without any audio delay between the Beam and speakers.Many thanks for any help you can provide.

ScenarioSonos amp connected to router by wireRouter visible on phoneLine in is bluetooth receiver playing music from phone.Line in is set up and working  when i have internet on App i.e. playing over BTIntetnet goes bye bye (virgin are crap) . Line in drops out.Surely i dont need intetnet to do line in ?

Question: Do I need “high end” wifi infrastructure for 21+ players? Background:I’ve been a Sonos advocate and avid user since the ZP-80 was launched in the UK.  I now have 21players spread across an old four-bedroomed property playing mostly streaming services and line-in from a turntable.I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve switched between wired+sonos net and wi-fi installations.  Neither has been particularly stable with players regularly disappearing, playback dropping out, long pauses adding players to groups etc.A few years ago I settled on a wi-fi setup as I’d rolled out a BT Whole Home wi-fi extender setup and had good wi-fi coverage in every room and a large chunk of the garden.  Certainly everywhere I have a Sonos player.  (Also, it’s not practical to wire more than two Sonos players without the kind of upheaval I’m not really up for).All players report “Good” or “Excellent” wifi connectivity in the Sonos app.  The BT Wi-Fi

Hi,I’m looking at upgrading to the Era 300s for rear surrounds. I know that currently the center driver is disabled when used in this configuration.However, I spent quite awhile on the phone with Sonos support in the weeks after the Era launch trying to understand how the remainder of the drivers work (as surrounds) with various content. What I was told by Sonos support is starkly different from what I’m seeing posted on places like Sonos sub on Reddit.As a quick fact, some 5.1 content is mastered as 2Front 1Center 2Surround (side) LFE while others choose 2Front 1Center 2Rear LFE. This was the breakdown Sonos support gave as to how each audio format should be handled by the Era 300 (as rear surrounds): * Stereo content should be spread across the entire stereo field. My System Runs flawlessly when the “Associated Product” is a Wired Sonos Play Bar (Gen 1) wired as part of a 5.1 System.Regularly the “Associated Product” switches to a Play 1 (Gen1) on the Sonosmesh. This causes songs to skip to next track halfway through etc … all the regularly sonos issues. How Can I lock the “Associated Product” to a wired ethernet producted??

Hi all, I am trying to achieve an atmos setup in living room area. I have the Sonos Arc, Sub (gen 3) and an Amp powering rear in wall sonance. I believe that this will achieve the 5.1.2 system ? I would like to know if I add additional pair of sonance in ceiling speakers to the same amp, will this still achieve the dolby atmos or is it unnecessary to have the ceiling speakers ? 

I’ve got a rather old Sonos setup and it’s never really worked with audio sync, neither on my old or new TV.Setup:PlaybaseSubTwo * Sonos one’sLG OLED 65WX9LAI have tried fixing it so many times, but there appears no setting anywhere that can change it. I bought my first SONOS years ago, the S1. Absolutely love the quality, it exceeds many in the market.Found the app to be extremely inconvenient, frustrating, and unnecessarily complicated. Years after years I bought more of your product, I waited and waited for you to eventually improve your UX and UI, STILL AS FRUSTRATING AS THE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT IT -ALMOST A DECADE AGO. Setting it up today broke me and was a nightmare, please do something. I have Sonos and it is on its own network yet guests are now accessing my system from the guest network. If they are on Wi-Fi they can access my Sonos system. This is new and something I can’t figure out how to fix.  any help is appreciated. I have a netgear orbi system.

It is only cosmetics but still bothers a little :) Why no picture for OneSL when Arc, Sub, 300s are showing a picture - Is it because they are now deemed obsolete? I can see this when I go to Sonos.com > My Account > System

I am building a covered patio.  I want to use the Sonos Five.  Can the Five be wall mounted?  Is it also recommended to be used in this manner?  The overview states it is humanity proof.  The unit will be high up on the wall near the ceiling an not exposed to the elements - just humidity and heat.   Please advise.

Hi - I am at a loss on how to connect the above products.My Epson LS800 UST has 2 HMDI ports. HDMI1 and HDMI2 (ARC) (It also has a HDMI 3 for Gaming, but that's not part of this concern.My Denon AVR - X2800 as the usual HDMI port plus one HDMI (ARC) port.The SONOS Soundbar ARC has a HDMI ARC port.The Cable Box has one HDMI1 port.I am currently configuring connections as follows:Epson LS800 HDMI2 (ARC) to the Denon HDMI (Arc)Epson LS800 HDMI1 to the cable box (HDMI1)So.. Where do I connect the SONOS HDMI Arc port?(I have previously connected the SONOS to the EpsonLS800 UST HDMI (Arc) port and that works fine (for sound from Sonos). Recently the sound from my Sonos Arc system sounds worse. Not as detailed and balanced as before. I feel that when there's a busy scene a lot of the sounds in the scene are quieter and a lot are just dropped. Initially I thought it was the specific content but it happens all the time.  I'm not sure why this has happened, no changes were made to settings or anything like that.  System is mainly used for TV audio.

Hi Sonos community,Anyone having issues to install the Sonos official wall mount in a plasterboard wall?I drilled and installed a wall plug but the screws included with the kit won’t stop twisting… The Sonos Era 300 haven’t arrived yet but I tested with a similar weight and not feeling very confident as you can see the wall mount coming off a bit from the wall…Any ideas or suggestions?Thanks in advance.

I have recently set up the Arc, Gen 3 woofer and 2 x Era 300s as surrounds.  They are connected to a Prism Q65 Pro TV which I now know doesn’t have eArc and only has Arc, which is not really good.  Problem I am having is I am not getting the real Atmos experience that I was sold on when I went to the SONOS showroom where you could really hear the sounds from above (great marketing).To try and overcome the lack of eArc I am thinking of purchasing the NVIDIA Shield Pro and using it to process the Dolby Atmos titles on the various streaming services. Can anyone provide me feedback on whether the Shield Pro is going to give me a better Atmos experience than what I am currently getting on the Prism TV?  I get the Atmos logo when streaming but I am not convinced the upward firing channels are working.  I am hoping the Shield will process the sound channels better.  As I understand I connect the Shield to one of the HDMI ports on the TV and then still use the AR

Hi. I noticed there are a lot of threads dedicated to this issue dating back to 2021, but none look like they were ever resolved.  I have Sonos playbar + sub + 2 rear Sonos ones. A PS5 is connected to my Samsung Q90T via hdmi and a digital optical is connected to my Playbar. When I play games with Dolby or DTS (via ps5 audio setting) there is a noticeable lag when characters are talking in-game. When I switch to PCM via PS5 settings, the lag issue goes away, but it’s no longer 5.1 anymore. It’s stereo. I tried an eARC pass through adapter which worked for a little while (i think) then didn’t anymore. I was thinking of getting the Sonos Arc but read that people are still having the same issue, as are people with Sony and LG TVs. The PS5 is clearly the culprit, but Sony has done nothing to resolve or even acknowledge the issue. Has anyone figured out a solve?

Thinking of replacing my old stereo setup that sits next to my tv. The TV is a Vizio that does not have a soundbar. Don’t really need surround sound because we really don’t watch those type of shows. It would be nice to have a better speaker setup for the tv to help clarify sound (announcers during football for example). I would also like to replace the stereo because I am digitizing my vinyl to load onto iTunes.I have a One SL that I’m using in the kitchen and am setting up our various music services and my own iTunes library. Now, I want to set up the living room.So, would it be better to have a Beam with maybe a sub mini or go with two One SL’s (or Era 100’s, although I don’t need the voice control) and a sub mini. I realize that I give up connecting the tv if I don’t do the soundbar. However, am I giving up the music sound quality if I do go with Beam over two speakers and a sub.Finally, the Five is a wonderful sounding speaker, but I think it is overkill in
