The AMP connects to the TV using ARC which means it should be able to receive a higher quality audio signal from streaming and local media.

Even the first generation Sonos Beam supports it, yet the more expensive AMP does not. Is there any reason why this is the case?

DD+ is vastly superior to DD, and considering most people who have the AMP pair higher end bookshelf speakers with the device, we should have the option to listen to DD+.

What do you guys thing?

The Beam Gen 1 does NOT support DD+.
