I changed the router with new vodafone station that Is 2.4/5G. Now it’s impossibile to Connect sonos to the network
Hi - I’ve been attempting to switch my Sonos system from wireless to a wired setup, but having a hard time getting my Sonos speaker to communicate with my router via ethernet. My network is this: Soundbar (living room), Play 1 (dining room), Play 1 (studio), One (kitchen), One (bedroom), Beam (upstairs), Sub (upstairs).I’ve been experiencing random speakers dropping audio for some time now (very frustrating), so I’m attempting to just connect one speaker via ethernet to create a wired network. The problem is when I plug my speaker (Play:1 in the dining room) into the router, it turns the port light on my router orange and there seems to be no data transmission. Looking at “About My System” it’s still showing up as “WM: 1” so still connecting via wireless. I know this is a good router port as I can use other devices on this port with no problem. I’ve tried resetting and re-adding the speaker to my network, and was able to successfully re-add it to my wireless network, but still can’t con
Hi i have a small room 2 x 5 meters were must I put my speakers on the large side? And as stereo?or in the middle of both short sides? And on a table?Thank you for replying
We’ve just purchased two Symfonisk bookshelf speakers for use in our coffeeshop. They work great on our wifi, but I’d like to get a dedicated mp3 player to play playlist instead of using a phone or computer.Does anyone have any recommendations for (and luck with) an inexpensive device that can stream through wifi to the speakers? Thanks!
I have to say I am dissapointed by the connectvity quality of Sonos. Asking 400 Euro for Play5Gen 2 and using an 802.11a chipset obsolete chipset in it, is not understandable. I had 4 speakers which worked ok-ish, still with a lot of disconnections and conneections back. And then I added 7 more, so now I have 4 x Play5Gen2 and 7 x Sonos One and it is just horrible:sometimes the app will not see all speakers, even if the speakers are actually playing sometimes the speakers will appear as they need repair, but they will come back to normal randamly sometimes the speakers just randomly disconnect and reconnectIt is a nightmare.Yes, the answer is connect them with ethernet cable but they lose the advantage against Bose. If I need to run cables everywere I will not chose Sonos anymore. But again, creating a product like Play5Gen2 and using 802.11a chipset it just does not make sense. 802.11a is so old, that my hotspot doesn’t even have it in the list.
Hello,In case anyone has a network problem, this is my story. My Sonos 4xSpeaker (1), connect:Amp, mini Sub, Sub and playbar all working fine.Go on holiday for 10 days return and home network down all of Sonos, Alexa, light bulbs, computers, iPhones and iPads. Restart router, no change. Ring broadband service provider and issue my side. Disconnect all Ethernet cables from router and WiFi bursts into life. Connect cable Wi-Fi network performance very poor and things not really working. Over next few hours, swearing and shouting discover that if I disconnect all Sonos devices network good. As soon as I add one it’s down.Factory reset one and add it to system home network stays up. Several hours later having tested every Sonos device, with the exception of the playbar and mini-sub they all needed factory resetting. I have no idea as to the cause or reason but if someone else has a network problem try this.
So frustrated with this product. Every other device I have can connect to my WiFi. Why is this so complicated?
anyone used the 100 as computer speakers? how bad is the lag with zoom or watching videos?
I recently logged into my app and none of my registered products are showing. In fact, the app says I have no registered products. We setup the registered products 1 year ago and have not changed anything since. How do I recover them?
I preordered the Sonos Era 300 (2x) hoping that they will be here before the store availability date. My preorders have still not been shipped. It does not make sense that people who have preordered get their stuff last. I could have waited and walk into Bestbuy on 3/28/2023 and get the speakers that same day. I will never preorder with Sonos. It doesn’t make sense.
Went out on the boat Thursday came back and sitting on the dock wanted to play music via my iPhone and SONO to a Play 1 on the dock. I could not get Wifi, (usually I do) so just listened to Pandora at the dock on the iPhone. Came back in the house and started working the issue. Have had other issues with HomeKit and Meross switches. and I have moved routers around etc. This morning I noticed that 3 of my speakers were not found. Tried all the plug unplug etc. One complaint is that SONOs had to run Update required 3 times as I was getting everything reenabled, assume it was for each of the speakers, wish it could have been all at one time. I have a SONOS Net Mesh Network. I have a Boost that I have placed up flat against a window pointing at the dock to get better coverage. What I found today is that sitting at the dock, like Thursday, SONOS will work great but I need Wifi on my iphone to get it started. I am assuming that my SONOS Net Boost is getting the signal to the dock. Is there
We had to turn power off to our whole house briefly and now Sonos will not play music. Tried rebooting modem and Arc. Tried updating system and get error code 1101.
Hi, I have a TV sonos beam bought in 2019, ref 1.23.1.10-2.2Is it possible to connect this beam on WIFI 5ghz ??I succeeded to have it connected on WIFI 2,4 ghzThanks for your return
Hello all. I’m thinking of purchasing an ARC and SUB with two ERA 300s in the rear. I’m looking for the ATMOS experience plus superior music from streaming apps and line in from a CD player. My question is what are the max amount of speakers I can connect together in the same room? For instance, could I also add two Sonos ones for side speakers? Or is this overkill?thanks,Jmsblckhll
I’ve reset the lamp several times. Sometimes while plugged into the router and other times not. When I plug it into the router the speaker works with streaming services, when it’s on wifi only nothing works. Still shows up in the Sonos app on wifi and I can control status light and touch controls so it’s somewhat connected, but no streaming services work with it.
I’ve had my system for several years. When it works, love it. But it is very high maintenance and always has been. I can never just open it up and start playing something. When it’s not error messages due to path to music folder that breaks for no known reason, it just won’t play w/o resetting the controller, every single time. I can’t just play music, it gets really old to go through this monkey dance every single time I want to turn it on - which is daily since I use it to help keep some of our rescue dogs calm. Why am I forced to reset my controller every single day in order to use the app? I tried support chat but just looping in unhelpful AI responses. No thank you.
Hi all,Been using Sonos for about 7 yrs now. Currently use it in 4 rooms in the house. Have a boost and all devices are static IP via binding. In our master bedroom we have an Arc, SUB G2 and two Ones. All working fine until today. App said 2 ONES offline. So reset them, re added, all well. Over the next few hours the sub and two ones fluctuated between offline and connected. As of right now, it’s all working, one ONE is still showing as offline but it’s clearly not as there is audio coming out of it.Any ideas????
Hi, I need help. I have a big delay between sound and vidéo. I have a projector who is connected with hdmi on fire tv stick. And my sonos five is connected with aux cable to my projector. My delay is about à couple seconds. I try the synchronisation audio of fire tv stick but absolutly nothing changed. I love my speaker and I want it to work correctly
Hi all, I operate a yoga studio that is ~2200 SF and have six Play:1 speakers throughout the space. It’s a relatively open space with some concrete support walls down the middle. We’ve been having a HELL of a time with our Sonos system and I’m tempted to replace the whole system with something that is reliable! But before that, I’m giving it one last effort to see if there’s something I’m just not seeing. Here is what’s happening:Speakers drop out sporadically -- all of them at different times, usually for 20-30 seconds at a time. They seem to take turns dropping out. Sometimes two at a time will drop, but usually it’s just one :) Not all speakers kick on when we hit “play.” While teaching, I’ll hit “play” and it will often be 30 seconds before the speakers in the studio actually start playing. The music is playing on the other speakers in the space, so the song is starting abruptly. We frequently receive “the connection to Spotify was lost” messages, and entire songs will skip, or e
Hi, I have two play 3 speakers paired in my kitchen and had a power cut, once the power was back on only one speaker worked. Tried the reset options but still no joy. I have play 5 speakers paired in the conservatory, living room and play 3 speakers paired in the dining room all are working fine. Can you help.regards. Dave
Each time, I or my wife open the app we get different rooms showing up, most of the time one of our 4 speakers disappear.we have 2 Play 1’s a Play 3 - all older and a TV speaker think it’s a boom. We are using the latest app and it’s not like they are. not connected as if you shut down and restart the app they reappear but it’s so frustrating. Any idea why this is happening?? If have rebooted the speakers, removed and reattached them to the app and it works for a few days and then they start to disappear again - nothing seems to be a long term fix.
Up until the weekend my Play:1 was functioning perfectly. It has been powered on for months and used weekly with no issues. On Sunday I unplugged it to take it out into the garden while it was a nice day but the app would not see it. I have power cycled the Play:1 and the router Moved next to the router Hard wired with an Ethernet cable Downloaded the Windows app to try that Reset the device and attempted to setup as new I cannot even join the SONOS wifi when trying to set the device upI can see it on the router, I can ping it’s IP and the MAC matches the MAC on the bottom of the device. I suspect the firmware has failed on the device, can I force this again over the Ethernet with a rescue tool?
Hi all,My Play 3, obviously a fair few years old now, it no longer seems to power on. I’ve tried different power cords and plug sockets but no luck. Has it died of old age? ☹️Thanks.
Hi all,I’ve started experiencing issue with my Sonos speaker. This is a new issue, I’ve first noticed it on Tuesday, and my own trouble shooting (Even resetting the device fully), and help from support hasn’t fixed this. The speaker will play for 2-10 minutes, after that it will stop playing music, not be available to connect to, and offline according to the sonos app. Sonos app still shows that the music is playing. The device also shows as still connected to my network (Checking through router). Sometimes (1 out of 5 times) the speaker will then start playing my music after an hour or so, and the only way to stop it is to press the play pause button on the speaker. I’m absolutely lost on what else to check, I’ve gone as far as to reset my router, checked all DNS settings I could think of, even hard wired the speaker… Nothing seems to fix it. I’ve played it from 3 different devices, asked my friends and family to play from their speakers, and tried using a different wifi in a separate
