Hi all,i have recently purchased 2 Sonos Five and stereo paired them to listen to music which works well. I am considering replacing my Bose aoundbar 500 with Sonos beam and my question is what is the best setup of the 3 pieces in the following 2 scenarios to get the most immersive sound experience? 1- Watching TV2- Listening to music  n.b: the music i am listening to is bass heavy.  appreciate your advice. 

I can't group the move with other speakers, this message keeps popping up. All the other sonos speakers are connected to sonosnet. I have mesh routers, and thought i fixed it yesterday, was working for a bit. I think the problem is that it connects to one of the mesh nodes instead of the main mesh router, but mot sure. Anyone knows what to do?Thanks!

From Amp / Port to Arc: Can the Arc play music from analog devices connected to Sonos Amp or Sonos Port? I have a CD player and a turntable which I would like to listen to using the Arc. Is it possible to connect them to Port or Amp and stream the music to the Arc speakers or do I need to get an additional speakers? From Arc to Amp / Port: Can input from the TV going to Arc be streamed to Amp or Port and played over the wired speaker connected to them?Thanks! 

I have 2 rooms with Sonos equipment in.  Let’s say I had to upgrade to the S2 app in this room to get everything working (which I did).If we now turn to another room, in this room I have only one Play:1.  I’m putting this speaker on eBay.  I have 2, new speakers, a Sonos One and a Sonos One SL.  I’m assuming that I will obviously need the S2 app for these 2 speakers in another room?How do I connect these 2 speakers together and add Alexa in this room?ThanksHB

I upgraded my Sonos system to S2 a few weeks ago.  I have one Sonos Beam and two Sonos Play:1 speakers.  A complicating factor is that I also switched to a new router a couple of weeks prior to the update, but the system seemed to be working well prior to the software upgrade to S2.   Since the upgrade to S2, the connectivity to my speakers over the Sonos Mac OS X app has been very shoddy.  On many occcasions, one or more speakers will not appear on the menu.  Sometimes I will see the speaker on the menu, but when I attempt to play music I have difficulty getting a song to start.  There are some occasions when the system seems to work, but it seems sporadic. Additionally, my ability to use my Sonos speakers directly from the Spotify application has essentially ceased.   Please help!

Port upgrade always fails. Sonos support has not been able to provide a solution. I can play sonos radio if I don’t upgrade but have limited functionality when not upgrading. So am forced to an upgrade that does not work. The port has a LAN connection to internet. 

Hello,I have a Sonos Arc + Sub connected to a Samsung TV/Apple TV setup. Whenever a show or movie is paused for several minutes, it seems that the Apple TV either unsyncs the Arc or tells it to go to sleep/mute. The Arc remains muted until I hit play, at which point the green light comes on indicating that it is unmuting. Most frustrating is that it takes a few seconds to fully unmute, so if I resume a show, the video will start but audio won’t kick in for those few seconds.  I don’t think this is an Apple TV issue, since I did not have trouble with the previous speakers - albeit those were just a 2.1 wired Logitech speaker setup. And no, my Samsung does not have an eARC port. Perhaps it has something to do with the pairing of remote controls? I could not find my answer anywhere, so any advice would be helpful. Thank you!

I had a TV sound bar and 2 Sonos Play Ones connected to my music and TV some years ago.  I have now purchased a brand spanking new Sonos Sub.While trying to link the new Sub to the older equipment, I was told that it was not compatible with my bridge.  I was advised to update to Sonos S2.  Once I did this, all my music and everything disappeared from my Sonos S1 controller on my PC.  I was then shown the message;‘The Sonos S1 controller’ isn’t compatible with your system.  You have options.”’Download the Sonos S2 app.  All your settings and services will be saved.  Or, use the Sonos S1 controller to set up a new system or connect to a compatible one.’Then I have the choices ‘Update’ or ‘More Options.’Does that mean that I need to go back to the Sonos S1?  If I do that, will all my music that was originally there, still be intact?  Can somebody tell me what I need to do so that I can use all my old Sonos equipment with the new Sonos Sub together in one room?  Thank you.HB

I have had my system for about 2 months now.  As of this morning when I turned my tv on my rear speakers are only playing the background music and I am unable to hear the voices from the people talking anymore.  I have the rears set to FULL.  What could be causing the sudden change?

I recently purchased a Sonos Five and have not found it to be particularly loud. I do not listen to my music at very high levels, however, I was surprised that even when the slider is half way—as in the photo below—it is not as immersive or room-filling as I expected. I was curious how others find the volume level or if I’m missing something here?I like to listen to my music, not be deafened by it. Certainly when I slide the volume up to ¾ it gets plenty loud, as measured by pure output of sound, but I do not find that it has the same fullness or presence of my 20 year-old stereo bookshelf speakers. The clarity is very good, and modern music is fine, but in the subtleties of classical music I’m afraid I find it lacking the fullness I’m seeking. Any thoughts or tips?  

Hi,     Looking for some advice on a remodel.  We have an open family/kitchen/dining section that are re-doing and I want to install ceiling speakers.  For the Family room area, I already have an Arc soundbar.  I was planning to buy 1 amp and 3 in-ceiling speaker sets.  I would position 2 sets in the kitchen and dining section to ideally pair together, with one last set of speakers positioned above the couch to pair with the Arc.    My question is should this work? Do the ceiling speakers pair separately as a set or even individually? Or is it by the amp (so all 3 sets/6 speakers are one control/set of music)? I’ve read some other posts and it didn’t seem clear to me at least.       Any help or thoughts would be appreciated!

I am new to the Sonos experience and am in the process of setting up stereo paired Sonos One speakers.  My intended purpose is the use the speakers for listening to music.  I am thinking about maybe adding a Sonos sub.  Would a sub be worth adding to this set up is it more suited to Sonos Fives or TV surround sound systems?

Hello Everyone,Once again I think my Sonos expectations were incorrect and I did not do the research. I got a Sonos Sub (gen 3) today and realized that it will probably not pair up with my Sonos Connect.In my Livingroom I have the Connect patched into an Onkyo Receiver/Amp with a set of Wharfedale Diamond (WD) speakers.I wanted the Sub to mirror what was being streamed in or out of the Connect so that the sub would back up those WDs that are in the living room (TV/Music etc.).I have a Play 5 in one bedroom, a Five in another bedroom, a Move (useless here) in another room and a Boost (also useless here that I bought years ago).I grabbed the 5s and brought them into the living room to hear this Sub, but that is not the ideal setup. Linking the Sub to the 5s (that are in other rooms) is also not the ideal setup (Playing three dimensional volume/level adjustments etc.).To be honest I am not sure that the 5s need the Sub unless you get to very-very high volumes (to do the heavy bass lifting

Looking back in the support threads, it looks like its been about 7 years since people first asked for TuneIn to be enabled with login support like all the other services so we can enable playlists and Premium service.  Sonos clearly already has a partnership with TuneIn.  I’m curious about the level of effort to get this implemented.  

I had to switch up my internet connectivity so now my modem and router are located upstairs in a 1500 sf home (2011 construction). Hardware:Boost, 1 Playbar, 2 Play: 1s, all connected on SonosNet.  Samsung TV - 6400 (Model# UN55JU6400FXZA): set to Dolby Digital; connected to the house Wifi. Optical cable (brand new, just replaced the original cable that came with Sonos) from TV to Playbar. When I change TV audio source from optical to TV internal speakers, dropouts stop. When I move the optical cable from TV to cable box, dropouts stop. Also, when I did this, also reseated both ends of the optical cable and gently attempted to wiggle both ends to see if connections or ports were loose and this had no effect, so it seems connections are solid. When I change TV Dolby setting to PCM, dropouts decrease, but still present. When I play music using music services from the app (Pandora or Amazon Prime) or stream directly from third party app (Pandora or Amazon Prime), dropouts stop. When I mov

Hi Sonos Community!I have a bar with two tv’s and one Sonos amp connected to in-ceiling speakers. I would like the ability to choose either tv for audio playback via ARC to the Sonos amp. Is there an HDMI switch available that I can use to achieve this function? Right now I have one tv connected straight to the Sonos amp and the other tv uses it’s built in speakers.

Hi all,Was helping set up a Sonos system for zay friend of mine and we are running into an issue.  I have an Apple TV connected to a Sony Bravia TV. Apple TV has Dolby 5.1 turned on and the TV passes the sound to a Sonos Beam via HDMI Arc. In the same room, we have surround speakers connected to a Sonos Amp.  All Sonos products are connected via wifi.When playing music, all speakers function as intended, but when we switch the input to TV, the surround speakers do not function. Anyone have any ideas here? For context, was running Youtube TV on an Apple TV but also tried streaming music via airplay and neither worked.Thanks in advance for any help

Hi everyone, I am new to Sonos and Dolby Atmos. I have a LG CX TV which features eARC and I ma using a Roku Ultra (2020) addition to stream. My Sonos Arc is connected to HDM2 (eARC) and my Roku is connected to HDMI4. For the TV the options for Digital Audio out are: PCM / Auto / Pass ThroughFor the Roku options are: Auto detect / Auto Pass through / or a bunch of specific options like PCM, Dolby Digital, etc… Originally I had the TV setup to Auto and the Roku Auto detect. When I did this, the Sonos said everything is Dolby Atmos which it obviously is not. When I selected pass through on both, it seemed to pick the right audio based on what it was. Also the volume was a lot lower. My question is. Is the auto setting better? Obviously the Roku is trying to convert everything to sounds like Atmos but I am not sure it is actually correct. What do you guys recommend?

I just setup my Port to my AV receiver.  Through the app, I named it TV Room.  I added the Google Assistant and now I see “TV Room” (my Port) listed in Google Home.  In Google Home, it is listed as a Speaker, but I am unable to add it to any of my existing speaker groups.  I can have Google play music from Spotify thru the Port on my receiver but I don’t know how to have it play music from the port to my speaker groups.  My groups are either Google Home Mini’s or Chromecast Audio devices.  Additionally, I have my home music located on a NAS and the app plays that music just fine, but, I cannot figure how to have google to play my music from my NAS through the port.  Whew!  And that was just my first post.  Thanks for any help.  Ralph.

I can’t choose my individual sonos speakers for airplay. It has them and Apple TV bundled together. This only happens on my iPhone 

What is status of Sonos addressing the tinny sound with the arc?  Can they provide research status and approximate dates for a software fix? 

Hello, I’m changing my mail in Sonos profile and have no problem logging in.My problem is that it request to verify that new address but i don’t receive it.I double and tripple checked … the mail is correct. It’s just I don’t recive it while i can receive it on gmail (which i leave).  The new email is looking like xxx@ik.me  I even had to revert the mail back to the old one since i cannot post here if my mail is not validated. Regards,    Pasik

Hello - I recognize there’s been some discussion about this here, but not recently. I am favoring the purchase of a 2020 Samsung Frame TV. But, have seen quite a bit of discussion about audio / sync issues with this particular TV (and other Samsungs). I am wondering if there are any folks who can cite clean, issue-free audio using a playbar The Samsung frame. Thanks in advance!
