Hi all, I have a challenge for you…I have a PS5 connecting to the game port on a Samsung Q90 TV and then the Q90 connecting to to a Sonos beam Gen 2 via the E-arc port. I have 2 x Play:1’s serving as surround speakers. I have the ps5 set to output the audio stream as bitstream to the TV. TV is set to “pass-through” on the audio settings. I am trying to play a blu-ray from the PS5 which I can see (from the PS5 screen) is outputting as LPCM 5.1, 48khz. However, when I look at the Sonos app it shows up as Stereo PCM, so it seems to be down mixing. If I put my ear really close to the rear surrounds I can just about hear a faint noise, but it’s not what you would call surround sound. Has anyone come across this? I think the config is okay - if I play a blu-ray from the ps5 using Dolby true-HD 5.1 it plays fine in all it’s surround sound glory and shows up on the sono app as True-HD. I am also getting good surround sound from Amazon Prime, so I think this problem is related to LPCM 5.1 only.

Recently bought a beam and SONOS sub mini. Unboxed and went to connect to my Girlfriends TV only to realize its a cheap TV and does not offer optical out, only RCA and SPDIF via coax.Has anyone successfully obtained an audio converter for any sonos sound bars, to convert either the RCA or Coax out, into a converter then Optical out using the SONOS supplied optical to HDMI adaptor into the beam?Trying to get an idea, whether using this would work? Or using a HDMI switch with an optical output. This would then mean audio out only for HDMI devices. I am in Australia where we get free to air TV so i would not get Audio out of the Beam for this as this is connected via Coax from Aerial. Thats fine as i really only want audio for movies which will be comes from an external device. Thanks.

I am a long time Spotify user with the old Sonos Play:5.  Usually I stream to Sonos directly from Spotify app on the phone (although I can do it though the S1 controller as well).  I have been thinking of transitioning to Apple Music.  I used a free third party app to move around 8 playlists from Spotify to Apple Music, and then I created new playlists within Apple Music.  I added Apple Music to S1 as well.  I can see Apple Music playlists through the S1 app, but only those that transitioned from Spotify; I don’t see the ones I created from scratch within Apple Music.  I would appreciate some help. 

I am trying to configure a new Arc to play nice with my Amazon Echo devices. I am able to connect the Arc to my Alexa app and control the Arc from my other Echo devices and I am able to issue commands to the Arc and have it respond however the Arc does not show up as an “Alexa-Enabled Device” within the Alexa app so my Arc has ZERO situational awareness inside of the room so it is useless to control Smart Home devices without context.  For instance, at the moment when I speak to the Echo inside a room I can say, “Turn off the lights” and it will shut off just the lights in that room. When I say the same commands to my Arc it just picks a random room and shuts off the lights. I have attempted to un-link and re-link the Sonos skill within Alexa, and disabled and re-enabled Alexa Voice Assisstant within the Sonos app. My main question is that if there is a way to get the Arc to appear within the Alexa app as an Alexa-Enabled Device or is this out of the question?

Trying to add iHeartRadio and I already have an account, but keep getting the error in the photo. Can’t seem to get it to work. I’ve removed the app restarted my speaker and hasn’t worked. Any help is greatly appreciated.   

I’d like to know if I could use my 2 IKEA Symfonisk picture frames (as surround speakers) with a sonos Arc.Thank you for your contribution before my Sonos Arc investment 

Hello, we are having problems connecting our new SONOS Beam Gen 2 to the Google home network and having the Sonos speaker as an option to connect with Google speakers throughout the house.  second issue is when we talk to the Sonos speaker to play music it responses with cannot play because the speaker isn’t available. 

As the title suggests, when I select an artist and pick a song, something completely different is played by a different artist. Any ideas??

Hi- I have had my Beam and two play 1s connected to my tv for a couple of years and had no problems. A week or so ago, I turned the power point off at the wall to save electricity per my electricity provider’s request, and now it won’t play through the tv. Still works via wifi. I’ve changed from optical to HDMI arc and even changed cables. So I guess my question is, do the HDMI ports on these things ever go bad? If so, would that show up in troubleshooting?

Hi, been using Sonos many years and I frequently use the Sonos app to play my purchased content from Amazon Music. After the recent prime library change, only the first 50 or so of my songs load in the purchased content section of the Amazon Music integration in Sonos app. Searching for songs I own outside of the first 50 alphabetical on Amazon do not show either. I have reauthorized and that didn't help. Anyone else having this issue? How do I resolve?

once a mini sub is bonded with a beam how does it appear as an airplay speaker.  Can I airplay just the sub with other airplay speakers or will the beam come with it?

Hi! I’m in the process of changing over to Sonos from a more traditional system and have connected my Apple Music account which is what I use to stream 90% of our music. Is there a way to “thumbs down” a song using the Sonos app so it gets skipped and doesn’t play again?

Is there any way I can connect a Move speaker to my Ray so that it can be used to carry the sound to other parts of the room? 

I am considering purchasing the Sonos Move speaker but I don’t want any voice control. Can the microphone be disabled on Sonos products? Is there a light to indicate when the microphone is enabled?

I have a Sonos Arc + Sub connected to my Samsung S95B eArc HDMI port and connected to the same TV, to another HDMI portM, an Apple TV 4K (3rd Gen). The TV is setup for passthrough and when I increase or decrease the volume it shows Sonos Arc (eArc HDMI). Apple TV shows, in the settings, under immersive audio, Dolby Atmos. From my understanding it everything is properly setup.  When I play content, be it Apple TV+, Netflix, HBO Max, etc..  and press down button on the remote to look at the Info Window it shows it’s playing 4K Dolby Vision but no Dolby Atmos label. As a matter of fact Dolby Atmos label only appears on Apple TV+, very rarely, and then disappears. When browsing for content the apps they do show support for Dolby Atmos. What confuses me is that while playing the content (Apple TV+, Netflix, etc..) the Sonos App shows the Dolby Atmos in both “Now Playing” and System Information. The question I have is: which one is correct? Is Apple not aware it’s playing Dolby Atmos content

Today i bought the Arc.I have an LG TV with earc. (It says Arc)I set the tv settings Earc - on and digital - pass trough.When i start a movie on Disney the tv shows dolby vision. The sonos app shows dolby atmos.When i start the same movie without the Arc i can enable dolby atmos on the tv speakers and the tv shows dolby atmos.Is the arc playing dolby atmos or just dolby vision?

I have a gen 1 beam and recently upgraded my tv from Samsung to Hisense.  Beam gen 1 only has an optical cable.  About every 70 minutes the sound drops out for about 20 seconds and then comes back on.  Didn’t happen with my old tv.  I have done all the software updates and reboots etc.  I am considering upgrading to a gen 2 but worried I will have the same issue.  No dropouts when just streaming music

I have a Symfonisk speaker which I have added some time ago. Due to constant issues with it not being available in the app or for Airplay I have reset it to factory settings and re-added it.everything works fine until the moment when the app tells me I need to register it into my system. This step fails every time.any idea how this can be fixed?thanks

Hi, at our football club, I'm currently extracting audio from hdmi (Digital TV, DVD player and Firestick) and sending to a very loud powered speaker. However, despite the very loud capabilities, the sound doesn't travel well through the club, when there are large groups of people.I need to look at a way to have multiple speakers around the club.  So want to take the audio extract (3.5mm headphone connection) and am wondering if I can either a) split it into multiple Sonos Play 5s or b) send to one Sonos Play 5, and then this can be wirelessly shared to the other Play 5s.   (I'm thinking of getting 3 X Play 5s).Would a) or b) work, and further, would the split signal be strong enough or would I need to use any amplifier?

Problem: My Sony TV and Sonos system work very well with the Sonos system (Beam, Sub Gen 3, pair Sonos Ones) connected through HDMI Arc. Unfortunately,  the TV/Sonos volume always jumps 2 levels at a time when using the remote. eg 2, 4, 6, 8…When I unplug the Sonos System and switch to the Sony to TV sound only, the TV volume adjusts properly, eg: 1, 2, 3, 4...I am using the same remote and have tried several different remotes but get the same incorrect result.I have also tried adding each piece of my Sonos system, checking volume control as I add each piece, but the result does not change, 2, 4, 6, 8...Question: Is there a way to stop the volume jumping 2 steps at a time so I have a finer control of the system volume? I love the Sonos system but would like to improve the volume adjustment with the TV remote.Thanks for any help.  

I have a playbar connected to my Samsung tv using an optical cable, I have since paired a sup wirelessly to the playBar and I use the tv remote to control the volume of the playbar and sub. I have just added 2x architectural ceiling speakers to the same room and connected them to the amp. I went through the setup process but it kept kicking me out the app on my iOS device. I managed to get it visible on the app and manually grouped the amp to the already grouped playbar and sub. The issue I’m having is that the amp will leave the group if the tv is off for a period of time, so I go on the app and add it to the group again, secondly if I change the volume on using the tv remote it only controls the playbar and sub and does not alter the ceiling speakers.I tried connecting the amp to the HDMI port but that made the playbar stop being controlled by the tv remote and didn’t seem to be any better. is there a better way to connect all these components? The amp is located within a cabinet bes

I am trying to setup a new Playbar. I keep getting the error on Sonos App on my phone “There was a problem linking your Playbar to your account”.I have tried Ethernet connection between my Playbar and Router and rebooted the router also. Still the issue persists.
