I have been told by Sonos support that my Play 1s are no longer compatible with my Sonos system and are therefore defunct.  They offered me 30% off new ones. I am finding this very hard to accept. Anyone else had the same issue?

Hi all,I’m hoping for some advice after an S1 - S2 migration has gone wrong.I bought an Era 300 and a Port today. I also had two legacy S1 devices (Connect + Play:5 Gen 1), which I removed and factory-reset using the S1 app. I couldn’t upgrade my existing system to S2 as it said my remaining devices could only be S1 compatible, so Sonos Support advised a full manual reset of my remaining 4 speakers and rebuild.After rebuilding: Play:1 and Play:3 added fine Era 300, Port, and two older speakers, another Play 1 and One completed setup and updates, but failed at the final step and show as unregistered in the app and couldn’t be added to my Sonos account Things I’ve tried: Router reboot Ethernet connection during setup for those devices that have them Power cycling all devices Restarting iPhone/iPad Reinstalling / restarting the app Has anyone seen this before, or know what blocks registration when setup itself completes? Hello all. New to the Sonos ecosystem and an having this issue as described by a previous post. The post was locked with. I solution being provided and I have searched far and wide for a solution. All of my Sonos speakers, no matter the room they are in, will go into a “perma-mute” showing a solid green light. Only way to unmute is to physically touch the volume on the speaker or to go into the app and tap the unmute button. Please help! 

After some weeks, the sound at certain frequencies is distorted and muffed. Went through all the steps from support and now I am waiting for a replacement. However, and based on all the users I see here with the same problem, I assume there is a design and engineering problem in the product. This speaks very bad about Sonos. I moved from a Sennheiser Ambeo Plus soundbar to Sonos as read multiple good reviews, but seems I made a big mistake...

Hello I have an arc ultra and sub 4 connected to a Bravia 8. Once in a while when I turn on the tv and put on a show or game to voices are all very deep sounding. Claire from modern family has a very deep sounding voice for instance. The only way to fix it is to reconnect the arc ultra via the app which is rather tedious. If that does not happen it some how is corrected in the next day or 2. Any advice or troubleshooting tips appreciated 

I’ve got and Arc Ultra, Era 300s, and Sub 4 and just purchased an Amazon Fire TV that is Dolby Atmospheres capable.  However, when watching a movie with Dolby Atmos, I am only getting Dolby 5.1. Trying to figure out what settings I need.  For digital audio format I know I’m not supposed to use PCM or Auto; should I use Dolby Audio or Passthrough?  For ARC mode, do I select ARC, eARC, or Auto?  Any other settings I need to be aware of?  Does the quality of the HDMI cable matter?

Hi! The volume slider worked for the first hour I used the product. Now, it's just an empty slider with no handle. I can't adjust the volume remotely, only on the device.  Inconvenient:) I found an only topic, about a year ago, where a friendly person collected diacnostic data but the topic was closed before a solution was shared to the dozens of people that reported the same issue.  It sounds like I have the same problem and hope to hear what I can do. I am looking for what is the best way to integrate my Denon AVR X4500H into my Sonos system.  Ideally I would like to be able to output the Sound on the TV to multiple sonos speaker, Like watching a game and being able to stream the audio out.  I tried using the line in on my exiting Era 100 but that did not seem to work.  USBC to RCA nor USBC to HDMI both cable failed to detect a line in signal. I was thinking of getting the port, but that does not look like it has HDMI and I am wondering if this would work.  I also was looking at the AMP and this does have HDMI, but I am really not looking to amp any speakers, I am only looking to bridge in and out by Denon onto my Sonos Network.   I am not opposed to getting new hardware but I want to be sure I am getting stuff which will integrate. 

I am trying to use the NHL App to send a radio broadcast of a game to a Sonos Move speaker via AirPlay.  I can select the radio source in the NHL App, start the radio broadcast on my iPad, then select AirPlay and send the stream to my Sonos Move Speaker. This works fine. I then go into the Sonos App, select the Sonos Move speaker and set a Sleep Timer for 1 hour.  That works and the Sleep Timer starts its countdown.  However, at the end of an hour the indicator light on the Sonos Move speaker flashes white for 2 seconds (the normal signal the sleep timer is finishing) but the AirPlay audio stream continues to be broadcast to the Sonos Move speaker. I assume this is a bug with the Sleep Timer.  Has anyone found a work around?  Thanks.  Dave Wilkinson

Hi everyone,I’ve been experimenting with setting up multi-room audio on my Sonos system, but I’ve noticed that sometimes playback between rooms goes out of sync by a few seconds. I’ve tried restarting devices, checking the network, and updating the app, but the issue persists.Has anyone experienced this before? My tv shows the beam 2 connected in settings. But the sony Bravia 9000h doesn't play audio I have checked the speakers of tv and sonos beam separately (they work) The beam doesn't play the tv audio and it's completely silent. Have tried repeated resets Any other options?Change the HDMI cable ?  

I did try searching here, but can’t find anyone asking the same question? - I currently have a Sonos 5.1 setup in my lounge (Beam / Sub Mini / 2x Ones) - I would like to be able to access my Music Library in the kitchen, but at present I don’t have another Sonos speaker, or want the hassle of taking one out of my 5.1 setup to use in the kitchen?We do have a Echo Dot (Gen 5) in the kitchen - What I want to do is play music from my Music Library with the Echo Dot in the kitchen? - I don’t need voice commands to do so & happy to select music from my Music Library via the Sonos AppI can’t see a way to add the Echo Dot speaker via the Sonos App settings - Amazon Alexa App shows all the speakers in my Sonos 5.1 setup in it’s settingsI hope that makes sense & any help would be much appreciated … Paul

Hi, I have been having issues with AirPlay since iOS 26 was released. During beta testing iOS I have submitted multiple bug reports to Apple asking them why my Apple Music audio will not play when the next song plays to my Sonos speakers. I have to manually skip the song in order to get sound working again. Music does continue in the iOS device, but no sounds plays to my Sonos speakers. Sometimes AirPlay will just not even connect to any of my speakers and I have to either turn WiFi on and off on my iPhone for it to work.  I have been beta testing newest iOS release and Apple sent me an email saying they fixed the issue, but they did not and I continue to have disconnects and audio issue. My UniFi wifi is setup as recommended by Ubiquity for Sonos and AirPlay. (Issue was happening since 9:50PM-11:00PM on 01/04/2026) Thank you.

WHY THE HELL IS EROR 913 ON THE MAC NOT SOLVED?

Hi all,I have a NVIDIA Shield Pro → LG G5 → Sonos Arc Ultra (eARC).I am trying movies coded with TrueHD Atmos 7.1 but on Sonos its showing Dolby Multichannel 2.0. How do I get the TV and Shield to give me the correct/proper sound? I thought the Arc Ultra handled Atmos right, so why wouldnt it output this? Any help or best settings would be so welcome… Please help.FYI, I also tried with an Apple TV 4k, so if anyone has ideas for this that would be great too.

 Hi AllCan anyone help with this though its not strictly related to Sonos issues?I have an old Buffalo Linkstation Duo that registered a disc failure so I replaced the disc and the other one failed. So I replaced that one and within a few days it registered a failure on the first brand new one!Im assuming that is a power issue or a fault with the chassis rather than the discs as they are brand new.So my question is if I kept the discs (assuming they are fine which they should be as they are brand new) and just switched them into a replacement chassis - an identical one ie a Buffallo Linkstation Duo - is it as simple as that?Would my PC and everything simply pick up the NAS drive as usual? Or is it more complex than that?Any help much appreciated.

I have done a factory rest and connected my Sonos one gen 2 to the network. It then says the message in the image I have attached. However, there is no system settings in the app. I see a settings icon in the top right but it doesn’t let me click it. Any advice?

Beginners use of Sonos App. I’m sure there is a simple guide to the Sonos app. for OIS? I get lost very easily; can’t ‘re-find’ topics…! What’s the best, simplest place to start learning about the Sonos App.? Then, I guess, there must be a simple overview article somewhere with setup/management instructions that cover everything (without getting bogged down)?

I have a Sony Bravia and Apple TV 4K and use a Siri Remote Apple TV IOS has latest update 26.3. I had been using Apple TV remote to control volume for a very long time. This is an RF remote as is the Sony remote both would control. Out of seemingly nowhere, the remote no longer controls volume. The Sonos is connected to the network by Ethernet and to the TV by optical audio cable. Sonos indicates software is up to date. I have tried the following:Reset the whole Sonos system by unplugging and disconnecting the optical audio cable. I used the app to set everything up and it goes well until the remote set up. Neither remote will pair up!I reset the Volume Control setting in Apple TV from Auto to TV via IR as some suggested. Still nothing.  It appears that it is somehow powering on when the Sonos when I turn on the TV because I turned off the playbar multiple times and it keeps turning back on and playing sound at a lowered volume I previously left it on.  The IR light does not seem to be

New to Sonos:Arc Ultra sound, sub & Era 300: how to (regularly) change individual volumes of Era300 without disturbing overall surround sound (i.e. I want to bring up the volume of Era300 at times, but keep it in the overall surround system)?

I have an Amazon Fire TV stick and I would like to hear the TV audio through a Sonos AMP. I do not plan on adding a soundbar. The entire setup will consist of only the amp and a pair of sonos in-wall speakers.I found an old article (5 years old) detailing how to extract audio using an HDMI audio extractor along with a sonos optical audio adapter, which seems rather archaic…So I have 2 questions:Could I just connect the Fire TV to the TV and using the HDMI/ARC connect the TV to the AMP? Would I be able to adjust the Sonos volume though arc? Could I then still create a group in the Alexa app combining an echo device to the amp to stream music trough it WITHOUT using the sonos app? How would that work if I’m already watching TV and play music through Alexa at the same time? 

I screwed up and added my new Era 100 to its own system, not the current system that my Beam is on.I keep trying to forget the system for the Era but it stays there. I added another era 100 to the original system  Am I screwed?

I am thinking of adding an Arc Ultra to my TV.  Existing system are all older Play1 and Play 5 speakers and still using the older App.Will the Arc Ultra be usable with the old App and will I be able to add a couple of Play1s as surround speakers ? Not upgraded yet because of the cost and the fact they still sound great. 

I have been using Sonos for 22 years. Today, my Sonos app on the Mac suddenly couldn’t find the Music Library I keep on the computer. After several other attempted fixes, I deleted the Music Library in Sonos and tried to add it back, but it wouldn’t do so. Nothing has changed on my system, as far as I am aware. Firewall and file sharing appear correctly set up. I use Sonos S1 controller on the Mac, and am running mac OS Sequoia 15.7.3.Any ideas, anyone?
