Era 300 1008 error

Hi, I’m getting. 1008 error when setting up Era 300. I’ve had the speakers for 6m without many issues. One of the speakers dropped last week & I cannot get to register. Keep getting a 1008 error. WiFi is via Netgear Nighthawk mesh system. If I connect direct to the router then I don’t get any issues but the router won’t extend to cover the house. I’ve been escalated to level 3 at Sonos but wondered if anyone had any ideas. I’ve reset speakers, router and tried to set up direct with router then move to Netgear but speakers aren’t moving. Help

Am I correct in assuming that you have a router from your ISP that still has WIFI enabled, plus you have the Netgear mesh system conned and also doing router duties?

If this is correct, you need to choose one of two things so that you only have one device doing router duties on your network.

  1. Place your ISP’s device into bridge mode, sometimes called pass through mode. Then you can configure the Netgear mesh system so that it covers your home.
  2. Factory reset the Netgear mesh system and configure them as access points (APs). You can conmfigure them with the same SSID and password they had before so that the speakers will automatically reconnect to your WIFI. You can turn off WIFI on the ISPs device.

Check for updates after you have reconnected the speakers.
