Hello Sonos Community! My Sonos volume is very low when I use it to play audio from my Projector, and I have trouble hearing it because it's so low. Here's the situation: I have a Sonos Play 1 and Play 5. I have the Play 5 (old model) hooked up to a BENQ Projector via a Mediabridge 3.5mm Male To Male Stereo Audio Cable. I use Chromecast in order to have my projector show what's on my computer screen. However, even when I have the volume turned all the way up (on all devices) the volume is super low (a lot lower than when I use my Sonos to directly play Spotify music). Can someone please provide help on what I can do to fix this? Sorry that I'm not a super techy person, and thanks so, so much for the help! Hi there, We just bought a house that has speakers installed in the ceiling. There are 2 speakers in the living room, 2 speakers on the front deck, two in the master bedroom, and 2 in the home office. It was all connected on the Nuvo system with controls built into the wall in every room. Unfortunately there's no amp or receiver (not sure, I'm not big into audio). We want to be able to control the speakers through our phone rather than relying on panels in the wall. We own two Play1 that are just plugged into the walls in a couple places. What's the best way to link those speakers to Sonos? Or do I just abandon the approach and grab some more Play1s and scatter them throughout the house. Also...is the sound bar worth purchasing for the television? Thank you matt

So I'm looking for a little guidance around a decision I have to make. I'm kind of new to Sonos so any help would be appreciated. I have the Beam on one TV in my house. Love it. I'm in the process of buying another Beam & Sub but I have in ceiling surrounds that I want to power. I also have outdoor speakers I'd like to power as well and looking to link them all together and still have the ability to expand down the road with some Play1s. My question is what do I need to do this? Can I use a Connect with an 3rd party amp? I assume if I do this I lose the surround capability. Do I want the Connect Amp? This would give me the surround capability but I could not separate the outdoor speakers if I connected both the outdoor speakers and surrounds. Do I wait for the new Amp and just use that with a speaker selector? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

We are thrilled with our new Beam Apart from a slight issue. Whenever anyone on the TV uses a word anything remotely like Alexa, the sound in the TV goes off for a few seconds whilst the Beam is waiting for an instruction . It really is very frustrating...I’ve just been in to try to change the wake word on the Beam and can’t..Does anyone else have the issue with sound drop outs like this? Surely this is an issue that needs sorting promptly?

Just bought the new Sonos One with built-in Alexa, all works fine a part from the timer, when I ask for a 2 minute timer, Alexa repeats this then followed by 'sorry I'm having some trouble' any ideas what the problem/solution is?

[b]Problem:[/b] My Sonos One has recently stopped playing music from Spotify. [b]Details:[/b] It is connected to the internet as it can tell me the time. It is connected to my Spotify account as it will say eg "playing coffee table jazz on shuffle" when I test it with "play some jazz" but that's followed up my silence. It must be a problem on the Sonos end as my Amazon Dots still play the music fine. [b]What I've done:[/b] Updated software on both my phone apps and Sonos One. Uninstalled all the apps and reinstalled. On my Phone De registered and re registered my sonos one in ALEXA APP Factory reset and re set up my sonos one - The speaker itself (these steps were mostly guided by me trouble shooting via google and this site) And I'm still back to where I started. Everything works except actually playing the music itself. Can anyone advise as I've run out of ideas. Thanks

I posted a reply on another thread for the same problem but nobody has replied with anything to help. To copy the text - I bought a Sonos one to replace an Echo as I loved the Alexa functionality in the kitchen but wanted better audio quality. The speaker is amazing but Alexa is terrible. I also find myself shouting at it to respond. I have the old Echo in another room and quite often that answers me when the Sonos One is still ignoring me. I've also noticed that quite a lot of the Alexa skills don't work on the Sonos One - for example "play radio X" won't launch the radio x skill. On the whole I am really pleased with the sound quality but Alexa is a big let down. While I'm having a moan - the noise it makes when it finally does respond is horrible :D Here's hoping this is software.... Can anything be done to improve my Sonos One? I read a comment that it should be just as sensitive as the Amazon Echo, and it is nowhere near that good. Does that mean my Sonos is faulty?

I cannot find a way to sort (to my liking) my favorites list. Especially frustrating on the mobile app when I want to quickly access my top favorites that I listen to daily.

High pitch sounds still lingers for a good ten minutes even after the unit is no longer playing. This unit is a few years old. The Play 1s do not emit this noise.

I want to hear from the business why they are turning their back on Linux. There is no official Linux app, and we have to reply on running the Windows app through emulation (WINE) which is not ideal.

Hi, I have a pair of Sonos One with Sub. I want to add an additional Play5 to this „room“. Is it possible? I know how to group them, but that does not help when I use Apple Music App (because there is no group for Airplay) and i have to choose both speakers every time I play music with this app. Another problem with the group is, that the volume button on the devices will not control the whole group.

I set up my speaker 6 days ago and the microphone or alexa has stopped responding. I have unplugged it but no change. The only buttons that seem to work are the volume buttons. All worked perfectly until now.

Removing fuctionality in the PC Controller software makes me quite frustrated. I have to stop upgrading the Sonos software. Way too much bullshit is done because of lazy programmers and idiotic corporate decisions. My old controllers stopped working which was a great way to instantly have Sonos available to all my guests and all children in the house, internal or external. My Samsung tabs are too old to be used. My spare smartphones are too old to run the Sonos software. My previous iPhone are too old to run the software. Come on, Sonos! Wake up to what you're doing to your customers! I will now for the first time in 15 years STOP recommending Sonos to anyone I meet from now on. I've always been a big fan. Not anymore. I'm getting ready to throw everything out for sale to get me something else that I can rely on and doesnt make my day troublesome. Maybe even find something that supports bluetooth as well. Using Sonosnet and ethernet connected players. I added my WiFi credentials, that didn't help, so I reset and removed my WiFi credentials. I am using an ethernet connected Boost, a Playbar, and a few Connects connected by ethernet around the house, the rest of the players are wirelessly connected and in About My Sonos, each device indicates WM: 0. Have given each Sonos device a DHCP reservation on the router. Restarting the router sometimes helps for awhile. Toggling the Sonosnet channel from 1 to 6 to 11 sometimes helps for awhile but not for long. Streaming from TIDAL performs the worst, streaming from my own music library performs better. I'm using Xfinity gigabit internet service and have two wireless access points in a small house and moving around the house I get 400Mbps WiFi download speeds. Sonos Diagnostics code 1281242672 . I might sound like an idiot here - but bear with me - I’m listening to a song on Apple Music through the Sonos app and would like to listen to similar sounding songs in a playlist (using a mix of my own library and songs not in my library). Is there a a way to do this through the Sonos app? Through the Apple Music app I would just tap “create station” but I seem unable to do similarly through the Sonos app.

With the recent Windows App update, the background changed from a mellow colour of blue to black. I would like to have control over the colour of the background as I seem to have with every other music app on my pc and phone.
