I’ve had a Sonos play 1 for 20 months. First year and a half it worked great. Recently it keeps dropping out despite it and router not having their locations moved. Driving me mad. Looked at forums but I’m not that tech savvy and just want to enjoy music. Finally yesterday I think I got it working ok. This morning I received a suggestion to upgrade App. Haven’t done it. How do I block these suggested updates? Simple explanation please.

I recently moved to an apartment (rent) that came with a Sonos system as part of the deal. Coming from another country (I live in US now), Its the first time that I hear and interact with a Sonos system, and I liked it. Well, the apartment that I moved has two speakers in the ceiling (they are mounted on the wall, but close to the ceiling) wired through the walls to a Connect:Amp, that is located inside a box in my closet (where my main internet cable is wired too). They are mounted in the living room, and bc of the layout, the TV needs to be placed at the same wall where they are, between them. My idea was to use this existing Sonos system and connect it to the TV somehow for movies and also music (Im used to cast to my TV stuff from Spotify, YouTube, etc.). After reading about Sonos, I realized that the only way to connect Connect:Amp to my TV would be by using a soundbar (playbar/beam/playbase) in a boost mode and use the connect:amp as surround speakers and maybe changing

I have been using Sonos for many years. I have the basic system on a PC I have been using new Sonos speakers. My old controller is no longer supported. After house alterations I want to bring some of my older components back into service and extend the system. It appears that I have to do everything through the app on my iPhone. I set that up recently and it was working OK, but it will not let me sign in to change my system. So far as I can see, it appears to have linked itself to an email address which is different from the one I used when I set up the system years ago and no matter what I do (re-setting the password, re-installing the app and so on) I cannot sign in. The result is that I cannot even use the modern speakers I had been using until this morning. The app on my PC will not respond until I sign in. It is Catch 22. Can anyone suggest how I get out of this?

We originally purchased two Sonos1 units for our house. We also purchased the Sonos Boost. They worked great. Then we added two more as fill all around the house. Everything was fine until about 2 months ago and I noticed that they were not playing a whole song every once in a while. We just purchased two more, so now we have 6 total, and the problem is still the same. Sometimes it skips very frequently. We have taken them all off line and readded them as individual names and units. We checked Wifi and everything is in order. What could be the problem. Oh. And we are running these off of our iPhoneX. If that would make a difference. This is really getting Annoying as we have spent well over $1000 for these units and now Im not happy with these at all.

Any updates to when google Assist is being added to Sonos??? Alexa isnt very impressive?

Hi! I searched on the community but the answers are not very clear to me. So I've the following case; I already owned a Sonos Connect AMP but today I bought a new receiver - NAD T 758V3. In the attachment the backside of the NAD. My question is: Is it possible to use the Connect AMP with the NAD? If yes which of the Sonos Connect AMP connections I need to use with the NAD?! :D

New house— I have speakers built into the living room wall already. I’m just not sure if this is a receiver or not (basically do I need a Sonos connect or sonos connect amp)? Here is a picture of what’s there.

I am not that computer literate so I am probably asking a couple of very dumb questions about reInstalling my Sonos kit. We are moving into a new flat and the router is located in one corner of the main living area. There is one Ethernet socket on the wall opposite. (1) If I connect my Sonos Connect: Amp to the Ethernet socket does this form the necessary connection needed for my Sonos system to work? (2) Ther are 2 Ethernet ports on the Sonos Connect: Amp so if I connect my smart HDTV to the other Ethernet port will this provide a hard wired internet connection for the TV via the Sonos Connect: Amp and / or just TV sound playback through the Sonos Connect: Amp. Thanks for helping as I am not really sure where to start!

Hi I recently bought a beam, and am experiencing the well documented lip sync issues when passing Sky Dolby digital feed through my Phillips TV. Switching to "normal" solves the issue of course. So Im looking to bypass the TV processing for the audio, which seems to be the culprit. What is the best way to connect the Sky Q and a PS4 audio to the beam?. I originally hoped a simple 2 to 1 optical splitter would do it but it seems the orientation of the Sonos optical adapter won't allow for it. Any advice and product links appreciated.

Background: occasionally Sonos can't play a track for whatever reason (usually this happens with Spotify), and Sonos has a "keep playing music no matter what" design whereby it just attempts to skip to the next track and pretend nothing happened, no option to have playback pause on error. The only way I've found to spot issues like this is to go looking in the error log. I know how to get to the error log on 9.1 desktop controller app (Help->Error Log), but one day I'm going to have to "upgrade" to the 9.2 "player" app with reduced admin functionality. Is the error log still available on 9.2 desktop? Is it available on mobile app? (can't see an option anywhere).

It says to Tap More Options (...) to add your favorite music. When I goto Browse —> a playlist on my iPhone —> ... on top of screen, I don’t see an option to add the song or playlist to My Sonos.

Hi, I have recently purchased and set up a new Sonos One. I added voice services yesterday and am having difficulties in getting Alexa to respond to ANY questions. I have tried the resetting process described in another post on this form, and the MIC is not muted. Diagnostic number is 716783233. Could you please assist?

Hey everyone! I'm currently attending University living in a dorm in which I am constantly having issues with people thinking that it is funny to blast music off of my Play 5. I am on an open network and we are not allowed to create our own so I am just checking to see if there were any ways to prevent this from happening in the future. People are able to just play music right off of the Apple Music / Spotify apps on to my speaker and I really don't want it to burst or anything like that. Is there anyway to disable Airplay? If I connect a tablet through the aux and just keep it plugged in will people still be able to play off of it? Thanks!

Hi The "settings" option via "advanced" has vanished from my main Mac computer and laptop. It means I cannot go to the bit to "change channel". It still exists on my ipad, however, via "settings" and "advanced settings" but not on my Mac. In fact, ever since the update to Sonos that turned the interface black, under "manage" at the top, all I now have is "music library settings", "service settings" and "add radio station".

Hi everyone! I currently have the Onkyo AV receiver TX-NR636 that I use to play music. It's connected with 2 old (wired) speakers and I want new, wireless speakers, e.g. the Sonos Play:3. I was wondering if that will work fine and if I just need the speakers, or do I need something else as well? (The Onkyo I have "does not work with Sonos") Thanks! Matthias

Hi guys, I need your help with my setup here. I have an Intel NUC and an USB sound card (Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro) to have a optical SPDIF output to connect my Playbar who have a sub and two Play:3 as surrounds. I have the Dolby Digital Live function enabled. A sound test file in MPEG AAC Audio 6 channels work great but when I play a DTS Audio files and others movies general movie with 6 channels audio, the sound is like a stereo converted to 5.1 (I only have a little sound on the rear surrounds who is a mix of all). One time only I successfully heard a movie with the full audio 5.1 capability. Was it a bug? Because after a restart the same movie didn't as excepted :( I remember disabling Sound Blaster enhancements to get it to work but as Dolby Digital Live is part of it it's suppose to stop working. And now it is not working at all when I disable enhancements. It drive me crazy ah ah. I now it can work because I had it work for 1 time but I can't understan

Is there a way to have music fade to off instead of abruptly stopping mid-song? I would like to have a setting that allowed me to specify how many seconds of fade before turning off using the on-speaker on/off toggle and also an option on the controller to fade to off instead of clicking stop. Is this possible? If not, could this be considered as a future enhancement?

Appreciate some advice please. Considering buying a Project essential III phono (with built in pre-amp) and looking for the best way to connect it to my existing sonos set up of 2x play 1 and 1x play 3. I am considering buying a connect OR a play 5. I have considered a preloved play 5 as a way to enhance my existing set up for a similar cost of just the connect. Any opinions on this much appreciated.

All the options in the "manage" menu are grey-ed out. That makes it impossible to add a music library and so I can only play music from streaming services and radio on Sonos. How do I get access to the "manage" menu so I can access my music library sorted on my Mac?

Hi, the Beam completely disconnected from the TV when my internet dropped out! Did not expect that as its connected to the TV with hdmi(arc), is this normal??

After the last one or two updates on the Beam, the audio sounds considerably lower. I used to be able to put the volume on 18 or 30 for different content but for the same content it's now 30 instead of 18 and 50 instead of 30. It's much harder to hear voices particularly and I have to raise and lower the sound a lot. It sounded perfect when I first got it and before the last one or two updates. I'm pretty sure it was after the very last update though. Anybody experience the same thing? Was anything changed in the programming that should even affect such performance? Sony x900e TV using built in Netflix and Amazon apps, Panasonic UB820 Bluray player and Verizon FIOS set top box. Experiencing with all devices.

I just took the new update form Sonos for both the ios and macbook and now i cannot control the volume or mute from the Mac but the iPhone still works. Any ETA on a fix?

when i got home and noticed the update was available i went ahead and began the process. It was taking forever so at some point i force closed the app. when i re-opened the app i was prompted to once again install the update. I did notice that one of speaker did take the update but the other rooms were still on 9.1. I tried again with no luck, the process never gets past the first step. I even tried letting it install overnight and it looks like it just timed out on my phone and no other speaker took the update. Any suggestions?

I have two Play:1s that cover most of my small house. I'm thinking of getting a third Play:1 but now I'm unsure if I should get a Beam for the Living Room and move the Play:1 that's currently there to the office. I don't need "big" sound and mostly appreciate the multi-room playing in sync capability. For music and radio, is the Beam any better or worse sound quality than the Play:1s? My TV sound seems OK, but maybe I just don't know what I'm missing. My TV has HDMI, but not ARC. Which should I get?
