Currently I have Sonos iOs app version 8.3 installed. I got a pop up today that an update 8.3.1 is available.When I go to App store to install the update , I do not see any Update tab and just see Open tab.

Last weekend my Playbase and 2 Play 1 surrounds suddenly dropped out and my system was not found by the app. I set them up again but whatever I do I cannot get the Playbase to work over wifi and it cannot be positioned next to the router in my hallway. If I wire it via ethernet I can connect but it cannot be wirelessly networked to complete setup. The rear speakers can be. I cannot get them all on the same room setup as the Playbase has to be moved to the TV to complete setup but then won't as it cannot connect on wifi. I did a factory reset on all units but that did not work. I brought the TV into the hallway to complete the remote setup after the reset so at least I can get sound and adjust the TV. I cannot get the Playbase on the network and therefore cannot pair it back with my surrounds. So frustrated!

I have my Connect running to my Yamaha receiver and pushing Martin Logan fronts and center. I have an extra optical cable and an RCA (red/white). Do you guys have thoughts on what will produce the best quality sound? As a sidenote, I'm also needing the cable that will provide the quickest signal...as has been covered before, I can only use my Connect in DIRECT mode when playing my Ones in conjunction with my main system that is using the Connect. Otherwise there is a small but noticeable delay.

Can I use a Sonos Boost to extend the range of my Sonos Net but without it being the component that is connected directly to the router? I have a Sonos Connect attached to the router near the front of the house and want to extend the signal to a Play5 at the end of the garden. If I place a Sonos Boost at the back of the house (halfway between the Sonos Connect and the Play5), will it work?

Can you pair the playbase with the sonos sub? And will I see a difference against the sound bar sub combo?

Hi guys, I have just invested in a couple of Sonos speakers and have set up my iPhone and my wife's iPhone as controllers. I was wondering, would we be able to have separate favourites on our My Sonos pages? or do we have to share the space. At the moment it is just full of my favourite albums on both iPhones and my wife would like her own stuff on there. Cheers, Tom

I have adjusted the bass and treble setting on the sonos equalise within the app and uncheck the loudness option but it does not change the bass distortion I hear during play back of some songs, in particular dance tunes. I have two plays 1's and the others fine, any suggestions.

I understand that the Connect is intended to be used with an external amp. My question is, how? Is the idea to: a) Allow me to play content streaming through the Sonos network (iTunes, Rdio, Spotify) through my existing AVR; or b) Allow me to stream audio from my AVR-connected peripherals (AppleTV, turntable) wirelessly to Sonos speakers; or c) Both of the above? Since most of the terminals are outputs, I'm guessing the answer is (a)… but then what is the RCA input intended for?

I got a ZonePlayer, I guess this is an older version of what is now Connect, and hooked it up to a powerline adapter in the living room because my router is in a bedroom. I got it to work the first time, but after awhile, I couldn't connect to it with the app and numerous attempts to re-do it failed. The app says "Looking for WiFi" even though the ZonePlayer apparently doesn't use WiFi, but must be wired. The buttons don't match what the wizard shows for the top button because it's a "Mute" button on the ZonePlayer. I had to select the "Connect" during setup because there is no specific "ZonePlayer" option. I moved the unit into the bedroom and connected directly to the router and it went through the setup successfully and very quickly, so there must be an issue using powerline adapters. For anything else I've connected over about 8-9 years, the powerline adapters have been far superior to WiFi. I've never had an issue with one until now and they don't require software to set up.

I am planning to bay a CR200. Is it stil possible to add it to my Sonos system? - or is it going to be outdated like the cr100?

Good Morning, I just purchased a BOOST for my home. Easy question. What is the proper way to add the BOOST to an already home Sonos Setup ? Play 5, 3 Play 1's - 2 as a stero pair, Play One, Playbase. I will be plugging the BOOST directly into my router.

Yes, I know, a Playbar isn't really intended for gaming. The best use case would be console gaming, and for an overkill option, PC gaming via optical. If anyone has played games - most importantly, FPS games - how does a surround sound Sonos system do with enemy auditory positioning? Is it easier to hear enemies behind you? Lastly, would it give a better, more immersive experience than headphones considering the speakers are physically behind you? Just very curious. Because if I ever buy a Playbar for my TV I might (for the bants lol) play PC games through it too.

hey friends, I'm setting up a 5.1 in my living room with a Playbar as the primary in the front of the room with the TV. for my rear lefts and rights, I was going to get Play3s, but have heard that it's overkill, and better value to do Play1s since the rear speakers are more for ambient nose. would love to hear everybody's thoughts.

I have a ipod touch 4 that i want to use with the Sonos app and my itunes library as well as Spotify and Deezer.It deems the latest Sonos app i can use is 6.2.2 which I have installed.When trying to connect to an existing system I get a message informing me there is a problem and contact Sonos.Anyone know if I am trying to do something thats not possible ?

Hi. I've been on the fence regarding jumping into the Sonos ecosystem. I generally have apple products but have a couple google homes and a few(4) chrome cast audios to hack together whole house music. Controlling it through the google music/home app kinda sucks to be honest and doesn't pass the wife reliability test. I have at least 3 existing speaker systems that I need to drive separately from whatever smart(ish) speaker a system has but that should integrate for a whole house experience. In addition to that need 3(ish) separate speakers for Kitchen/Dining Room/Bedroom/ and 1 or 2 places more maybe(ish). I would lie if I said I wasn't waiting to see how HomePod shook out. Then my dad got me a Sonos 1 last week as a birthday gift. Its cool and I might take advantage of the $350 for 2 more Sonos One deal but here is my dilemma. Hi all, I'm a recent Sonos convert and have been extremely happy so far, adding a Play 5, Play 1, and now a Playbar + Sub. I've unfortunately had a horrific experience in trying to get the Playbar setup. My setup is as follows - Sony KDL-55W900A television, TiVo Roamio that utilizes over the air digital signals, Xbox One. The Roamio goes to the Xbox One, then the Xbox One to my television via HTML, then optical out to the Playbar. This television is one that specifically has Dolby Digital 5.1 pass through. I've spent 15+ hours on this and constantly scouring forums and looking for settings, but continue to have audio sync issues. The audio delay setting in the software does not solve this, only makes it worse. I've so far identified that it depends on the source - and sometimes different even in that source, and even do different variations of sync. For example, I'm watching Seinfeld here on television and it's completely unwatchable - the audio clearly does not

Hi! I'm having some strange connectivity issues between my Echo Dot and my 3 sonos speakers, possibly involving spotify. Only some things play on some speakers at some times, and I can't figure out why. Here's what's happening: Echo Dot will accept commands to play named songs, bands, albums, or playlists from Amazon music OR Spotify music on my Sonos Connect. Echo Dot will accept commands to play "music" on my Play3 and Play:1 but will NOT accept commands to play named songs, bands, albums or playlists on either one of them. This is true whether I have Spotify set as default music service or Amazon music set as default music service. Example: If I say, "Alexa, play [bandname] on [Play:1], it will act as if I said "Alexa, play [bandname]" and just play on the dot. (yuck). But if I say, "Alexa, play music on [Play:1]", it will play an amazon music playlist that it picked for me on the sonos speaker. Why can Spotify play on Sonos Connect but not elsewhere? Is there support for using Alexa to play local Sonos playlists, or is support limited to the listed online services?

I have one Sonos Play:1 - I also have an Echo and a pair of Echo Dots. One Dot I have connected to a Bose speaker via an aux cable. The Echo has it's own, good(ish), speakers, and the Sonos is paired with the last Dot. The Sonos is connected to my Dot as per instructions. Works as designed. One supposes. I have an Alexa music group set up with all the Alexa devices. My group name is, an unimaginative, "Everywhere". So I say, "Alexa, play classical music Everywhere". And it does. The Echo plays, the Dot plays with the Bose aux attached, the other Dot just plays music. No Sonos connection. I understand that, in some fashion, this is an Amazon limitation on not being able to play to group attached Bluetooth devices. OK, can accept that. Kinda. But the Sonos, as best I can tell, has NO option for an aux cable, so no (known to me) mechanism to get around the Amazon problem. I tell Amazon Echo to play a station from my Pandora in a room and it will play only one song. When I open the app and hit the play button, nothing happens. When I hit the next button I get: “unable to play pandora service error” in a pop up window. I have sent Sonos tech reps diagnostic number and they still can’t figure out the problem. I’ve rebooted my modem, my Wi-Fi, my speakers and deleted and reinstalled my apps, along with signing out and re-signing in to my Pandora music service. I still have the same problem. Any ideas?

I just purchased a Sonos Playbase. I followed the directions for setup without success. Initially it would not connect to my wireless network so I moved the router adjacent to the box and hardwired it. The playbase downloaded an update and registered the product. Now it was time to connect to the TV. With the Optical cable connected, I had to disconnect the router so I could connect the cable to the Comcast TV box. (the router is supplied by Comcast and requires a coaxial connection). The playbase would not connect to the TV and now only shows a white light. I tried to perform a reset by unplugging power then plugging in while holding down the play/pause button with no change. At this point I do not know what to do. Sound and Vision really talked the playbase up. Any ideas on a path forward would be appreciated. Chris
