Hello Guys, I just got a samsung Mu7000 last week and today I got a playbar. The playbar sounds great but I would love to be able to control it with my universal control. But after spending an hour on the phone with sonos support (which is good btw) we accepted defeat. Has anyone got this combo working please? thanks Brian

Is there not a way to control the volume via Alexa for ALL speakers in a group vs one at a time?

I have two Play 5s 2nd gen which are paired with line in to right speaker from my tv. Sometimes - and it’s not clear what causes this - I get audio drop out. I have now attached both by Ethernet cables directly to the router - it’s improved but still getting some drop out. I have to use uncompressed setting to maintain lip sync. Is there an optimal set up to avoid the drop out? Thanks!

Basically, I'm looking for a UHD Blu Ray Player that supports HDR 10 and Dolby Vision that will resample the DTS Core to Dolby Digital for my Sonos surround system. It would be nice if this was an excuse to buy an Xbox One X! Thanks.

I understand when Apple (finally) releases the finished product, Airplay2 will only be initially supported by certain players, due to software limitations / capable processors. My question therefore, is will Airplay2 be an exclusive feature to the pre-named products (playbase, One and 5) upon launch only or will new Play:1s be manufactured with the capability after Airplay2 is available? I can’t work out whether this is an obvious answer i.e there will just be new products that support AirPlay2, for example Play:1 gen 2. Hope this makes sense.

SonosOne won't work. i have tried rebooting my router, and then Sonos. I checked on my app on my phone and it said update needed. when i try to update it fails with error 1101. I have seen others with this problem and all say to submit diagnostics. My conf # is 894856421. Help. I miss my music.

Can´t find device in Alexa app even though the Sonos is enabled? Is this not yet working in Norway? When checking voice services in the Sonos app it says "not available in your country". Is this the reason it won´t work? Thanks in advance

Hi, I’m a new (and happy) Sonos Play:1 owner, already looking to expand my system. I was browsing various used ads and found this, which seems interesting price wise but it seems to be older Sonos components. I have a very basic setup - base station and Connect:AMP with a pair of outdoor speakers. The system has been working fine for 2+ years. Its a seasonal place, so last weekend I reconnected the outdoor speakers and found that no sound was coming from the Connect:AMP. The app was connected and thought it was playing music. I checked the speakers and wiring (using a battery) and those were fine. I tried resetting the base station and adding the Connect:AMP as a new component and still have the same problem. Could this be a firmware issue? Anyone have any ideas?

When i rotate my Sonos play:5 to vertical position my impression is that the side tweeters stops and the power adds to the central tweeter. Is this impression correct? Also it would be very useful to see the eq treble bass on first screen and not navigate through the menu. Thanks a lot!

The Sonos system doesn't seem to have access to Alexa Skills. If this is not true then where do I find/enable them. And are they the same as whats available in the Echo from Amazon? Thanks.

I think it is not just the mic sensitivity of the Sonos One, but also the accuracy of the wake word detection. Alexa has woken up to (from the TV) "They must think I'm the nanny" "With Brexit this will take" "Accelerating UK growth" "Eccentric" And other random words, some but not all containing the letter "X". I recorded the clips, and when played back they consistently trigger Alexa to wake up. Strangely, when I repeat these words, Alexa doesn't wake up. Sometimes she doesn't wake up at all unless I stand over her, or shout. If you want the audio clips, let me know.

I have two Play:1 speakers in my business. One is in my gym, the other in a massage office. Sometimes my iPhone app defaults to turning on the music in the massage office instead of the gym, which is very NOT COOL (depending on the music that I'm playing). I don't really need to control the music in the massage room (the massage therapist does that) and I just want to get that speaker off the app, but there's no obvious way to do it. Any advice?

I did search and was unable to find anything. I like to use YouTube to DJ when I am having people over. In my living room I have a playbar, base up front and 2 Play:1's are rear channels. What I am wondering is how can I make the rear channels run like they do when I play music normally instead of rear speakers when using Youtube through my smart TV.

I’ve seemed to run into a pickle. I bought a Sonos Play 1 and a Sonos One with Alexa for my surround sound theater system with my Playbar. Yet, when I go to set up the surround sound, the two seem to be incomparable to create a system together in that way. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a work around? I’m unsure why Sonos would make it so this wasn’t possible with the unnecessary of having two Alexa speakers in one room.

I am trying to add my Spotify account to the Sonos controller iOS app and there is no option to connect to Spotify. Any help please ?

Is Sonos Play:5 line in bypass the d/a converter of Sonos or the incoming analog signal is converted to digital/analog signal from Sonos and then goes to the speakers?

The Calm Radio app in Sonos works fine. However when I try to start a channel via Alexa I get the message "sorry we are having problems connecting to your calm radio skill right now". Anyone else having this problem?

Given various network problems in recent months (not specific to Sonos) I've recently moved to a Velop system, only to realise that there are apparent problems between Sonos and Velop. Whilst I'd love to spend weeks going back and forth with both companies to help improve their products, I'm resigned to finding a quicker resolution for myself. For info, I have the following Sonos products: Lounge: Playbar, 2 Play:1's as surround, 1 Sub Hall: 1 Play:3 Guest Room: 1 Play:1 Bedroom: 1 Play:5 Prior to the Velop being installed, I had non-stop problems with using the Sonos in a purely wireless configuration. There's simply too many wireless networks in my building and despite constantly changing channels, it just wasn't reliable. I eventually connected the Playbar into one of the wireless nodes (still before Velop) and for a time this worked 'ok' - not perfect. Having now installed the Velop and again plugged the Playbar into one of the Velop nodes (not the 'main' Velo

I have a Play One that I would like to take to a new location to see if I have wifi coverage before adding another speaker. Can I just move it and use its current name on the app or do I have to reprogram it after the test move? It's just temporary for the reception test. It will go back to original location.

I just bought a play:1 for my kitchen. My Alexa Dot is 10 ft away. My sonos will play Spotify and music but when I ask Alexa to play my Flash News Briefing it only plays it on the Dot and not the Sonos Play:1. Any suggestions?

I have bought a Connect Amp and connected it to a Pioneer DJM mixer (and two turntables) by RCA phono cables, and then grouped it in the same room with 2x Play1s, a Playbar and Sub but the sounds keeps cutting in and out. I've also then added the Kitchen Play 1 into the group and that cuts out too. I've checked the output of the mixer through the headphones and that seems fine. Any thoughts on what I can check?

I’m having problems linking sonos skill in the Alexa app. I recently switched from UK to Au account when sonos skill became available in Australia. When I switched Alexa couldn’t find my speakers and so I deleted them from my Alexa app and disabled the skill. Now when I try to re-enable it I get as far as allow Alexa to control your sonos system but the app just hangs and nothing happens when I press the Okay button. Frustrating! Hope someone can help! ??

Hi all, Excuse the newbie question... I have (only) a 1st gen Play 5 currently, and am looking to upgrade my sound to include 2x Play 1's [b]OR[/b] 2x Sonos One's, to use as rear left and rights or front left and rights for movies/music etc, and just generally on their own as a pair occasionally. My question is simple: Can the 1st gen Play 5 act as the central main speaker &, MOST IMPORTANTLY: the wireless communicator to the 2 Play 1's/ONE's in a group with all 3? Also, could the 2x Play 1's/ONE'S be paired together for L & R sound in this overall '3' setup? Thanks very much, Mark
