Hi, I am about to buy sonos play:5. I want to use the speaker with my Windows computer which i understand is compatible. Is it possible to use the speaker while i produce music and such without playing from music streaming services? Basically use it as a speaker for my computer. Sumetri

With Follow-Up Mode on alexa keeps beeping after asking to do something, it keeps beeping 5 10 times? very annoying so i turned off the followup and beeping went away. anyone know why?

Want to know if anyone has suggestions on how to fix voice control with Alexa. I can give a voice command, Alexa responds to the voice command and acknowledges that music is paying, but music does not play. I've tried re-installing Alexa control through Sonos service, but that didn't seem to work. Thought maybe because I am using Sonos hub vs local wifi to run speakers. Has anyone else run into this issue? Suggestions?

Hi all I have two sonos ones with "alexa" both of them did use to tell me the weather in St.Helier Jersey. But recently neither of them do this, I just get "I don't know your location, in future you can go to the App and add your complete address for your device" So we did this on the app, but still no joy. So we contacted amazon (as the sonos was working) they told us a few things to try which we did, but still nothing. They then told us to deregister both devices and they would sort it their end, and that just made things much worse, when we said "alexa" it just said that I'm having trouble understanding please try again later. Amazon where no help with what they had caused! and said to contact sonos, but as we said its an issue with alexa, they could not sort out our know, dead in the water sonos. So we did a factory reset, and we are back to square one....so does anyone know how we can get it to give us the weather in St Helier Jersey? thanks

I have setup two Sonos one speakers (setup the Sonos skill in Alexa, Spotify (premium account) as my default music service, and Alexa as my voice service in the Sonos app). I can ask for music by artist or a specific song but am unable to ask for music of a specific genre or activity type for instance saying: Alexa play 80's rock or Alexa play dance music. Alexa just responds with unable to find any 80's rock etc. I have not created any playlists or followed any particular feeds in spotify (am new to using spotify) so i am not sure if any of this matters. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

I have had Sky Q and Sonos together for about 18months now. All are cabled Ethernet and all have been working well in close proximity to each other. I have had a 4th Sky Q mini box added into a guest flat, hard cabled again. This works fine. I have moved one of my Sky Play 1’s over and used a small netgear switch in which I have Sky, a TV, Blu-ray and Sonos. The Sky is meshed together with same SSID throughout. From the main house and anywhere off the new sky mini box I can see all my Sonos devices and control them fine. When I connect to the new sky mini box WiFi the Sonos app will not find any Sonos devices!! Tried every permutation on cabling etc. I can lean out the window and connect to another WiFi and Sonos opens straightaway and I can see all and control the relocated Play1. It’s driving me mental!! I have no ideas whatsoever what it can be. Please help!!!

Just started having problems with my Play1 with built in Alexa to execute commands to play or pause music and change stations that have previously worked with no problems. Alexa responds with a chime and says ok but then nothing, then I must use the app to issue the commands. Whereas, upon issuing the same command to my Echo Dot, the command is executed immediately on the Dot as well any Sonos equipment where I tell it to play. Note: Commands to the Alexa on Play1 to turn on Philips Hue lighting and ask for information like what the current time is works just fine. Also, just for poops and giggles, when asking Alexa on both SONOS and Echo Dot "what song is playing", I get the response Lonely Boy by The Black Keys, no matter what song is playing. Any ideas of what is going on?

I recently upgraded from a Sony x850D to a Sony x900E TV. I had the PLAYBASE connected to the TV via Optical and all sources connected to the TV via HDMI, My previous TV passed through 5.1 through all sources no problem, only issue was the occasional no sound when switching channels on the cable box but easily fixed by switching channel back and forth. However now with this newer Sony TV i've connected everything up the same and same settings within the TV (settings are identical to the last TV) I'm getting 5.1 passing through no problem on all sources but when switching to Cable TV then back to the internal Netflix App or from apple tv to netflix for example there is no sound when playing any movie or tv I have to actually completely restart the TV a simple on an off won't work to bring back sound. I am aware of the issue for some where DD plus with netflix content won't play but ive been testing this issue with videos that do play in 5.1 but then still experience this issue whe

To whom this may concern, I had set up my playbase with the TV, 2 Play 1s and the sub. Everything was working until I noticed only the playbase was working. Went to my reconfigure everything and it has stopped working entirely. Will not connect to WiFi and will not even set up. I hear the chime, and then nothing. Please help. Not in a room where I can hard wire the unit. Diagnostic confirmation - 1245882624

This issue is happening frequently. The only workaround for this problem is to 1. [b]Select new ROOM NAMES in the SONOS app[/b] 2. [b]And then having the Echo device FORGET the SONOS device name, [/b] 3. [b]Then having Alexa rediscover new devices[/b]. This workaround appears to only work for a short time, then I must repeat the above process to get SONOS speakers to stream again. I have tried just forgetting the SONOS device in the Alexa app, then discovering the devices again but that action had no impact on the problem. The only action that corrects the issue is changing the ROOM Names in the SONOS App What are the changes occurring when the ROOM NAMES are updated in the SONOS app or in the Alexa Cloud services? What needs to occur to make these changes stick? Doug

I got a pair of SONOS ONE, just because of their VOICE CONTROL. But it turned to be this function can't be used in Thailand. What's the point I got these speakers instead of SONOS Play 1 for just half price. T-T Now I wonder why there're a lot of review of this product all over internet since it can't be used?? I have a Playbase connected to an LG tv. When I initially setup the system I paired the Sky TV remote to Sonos and turned off the TV speakers as instructed and it all worked fine. However, now it's stopped working and I have to use the app to control the TV volume. I have tried to pair the original TV remort with the Playbase and, whilst the app tells me it's been recognised, that doesnt work either. I've read through the Topics on here and wider on the internet and tried various things like restting the Sky remote (from the Sky help pages) but to no avail. Can you help ?

Hello ! After some research, I'm a little confused. I own a LG TV (32LB5600) which has no Audio jack output and a Play5. But which has the following outputs : - Component IN / AV IN (L/Mono and Audio R) or - Optical Digital Audio Out I tried to us a RCA Y-cable and to plug it to the Component IN / AV IN (L/Mono and Audio R) and it didn't worked at all :/ Is anybody have a solution ? Should I use my "Optical Digital Audio Out" in order to connect my TV to my Play5 ? Thank you :)

I have set up several Sonos alarms to play automatically music at certain times of the day. I have been using this for a while now and it works great until recently. Certain alarms instead of playing the music selection specified in the settings will play the Sonos alarm. This happen on alarms where the duration is set to "no limit" and snooze alerts is selected. I am not sure why but it's annoying as heck!

I have a setup with Playbase, Sub and surround speakers. Playbase works fine but Sub and surround lose the sound often and randomly. Same problem with direct input from TV and wi-fi streaming, however problem occur More frequent on wi-fi. I have tried "everything" and is about to give up. Can someone help?

I don't know about anyone else, but I struggle to get out of bed in the morning! I'd love a feature which enables me to ONLY be able to turn the alarm off by pressing the Play button on the speaker as opposed to my phone. Alternatively, and perhaps much better for me, only being able to turn off the alarm by pressing the Play button on another selected speaker. For example, Alarm set in Bedroom 1 for 8am, alarm goes off and can only be deactivated by pressing the Play button on the living room play at - this getting me out of bed! Thoughts? Ben

I have 5 Sonos One speakers in various rooms in my house. Alexa is very responsive and always hears when I am speaking to it and only responds on one speaker. My problem is that it often responds on the furthest speaker away from me. I could be in the kitchen just a few feet from that speaker and the speaker around the corner and 25 feet away will respond. Anything I can do to fix this?

So I'm embracing the fact that the CR100 controller is coming to the end of its life and thought I'd turn it off and remove the cradle/charger from the wall. It's that many years since I mounted the cradle on the wall though, that I can't recall how it clips/unclips from the backing plate. Don't really want to just tug at it! Any suggestions please?

I have a Panasonic TX-50EX700B with Netflix built in, connected to my playbase. Normally there’s no issues at all, Sky and freeview audio play through it with no problems. However, when I try and watch Netflix, the audio is really temperamental. As in, it will play audio normally for one show, but if I go back and try to watch a different show, no sound at all. The only thing that seems to resolve it is turning everything off at the wall and leaving it for 5 minutes. Anyone else had this issue? Anyone know how the hell I fix it??

I have the amazon basic banana plugs. When I play vinyl records, I get a distorted sound. It's unbearable! I was not experiencing this when I was not using Sonos (just last week). Battery life on my iPhone is drastically shorter than before. Checked the usage and Sonos is by far the biggest juice consumer, typically 28% of total consumption. Want a quick fix!
