Hi - potentially a stupid question, but after the new update to iOS 11 and associated Sonos Controller update on iPhone, I can't figure out how to switch the room I am controlling sound for. As an example - my controller now can control "Living Room". No problem. But if I go upstairs and want to control "Bedroom", I can't switch control away from "Living Room" to "Bedroom". In the old app it was easy, but I can't figure out how make the switch in the new app. Tapping on the bottom middle room icon merely brings up a list of my Sonos locations and the option/ability to group/ungroup speakers, which doesn't solve my problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of purchased an Amazon Alexa Dot (2nd Generation) after installing Sonos 8. I use Deezer though Sonos, therefore, does it working using Alexa. Reading and watching various items from Sonos it does not mention Deeezer.

I keep getting this error when trying to Alexa to play Spotify via my Play Ones ‘Your Spotify account does not support streaming to this device’ I have followed all instructions in the set up email, reinstalled the Sonos Skill, I have a Spotify Family Account. All works fine directly from Spotify and Sonos apps only a problem via Alexa. Any idea?

i Have the playbar, a sub , and two Sonos ones in a 5.1 configuration. I am moving into an apartment and to lessen the noise at night when I want to listen to music, I just want to listen to the Sonos one pair in stereo. I see no option to turn the playbar off I can only turn sub or rears off. I’d like to be able to just move the ones into the kitchen sometimes and just listen to them. What is the easiest way to do that?

Due to room configuration and size, is it possible to have 2 subs work together with 1 soundbar for television viewing? Thank you, Troy

i was reading you no longer need a sonos wireless bridge with the sonos equipment... so i guess i can remove my bridge now. i have crazy fast inter net speeds, about 115 Mbps.. i also have crazy fast gaming wireless router. basically we can stream, game and what not on several computers no problem.. we got way more power than i think we actually need so i dont think the bridge is doing any good if its not actually needed any more. At the time i bought my connect you had to have the bridge to use the sonos connect with wireless ( no wired hook up on the room so i need it on wife). Now i am reading a update made so you don't need the bridge anymore..... one less link in the chain seems like tit would be the best option and i know my wifi network can handle it no problem.. is there any reason i should continue to use the old wireless bridge.... its the old one, not the new boost bridge

Hello to all. I recently purchased a Sonos boost even if I still don't have any other Sonos speaker in my house. I'm going to purchase a playbar anyway in a few days, but I prefer to purchase the Boost in advance sinsce it was 50% off in my nearby store. All the setup should be set correctly, but I have a question: Is the boost supposed to create a separate wifi network that I should see in my network list (i.e. "Sonos wifi" or something similar)? I make this question since I cannot see any other additional network in my wifi list, but trough the Sonos controller app, all the settings seems to be OK. Maybe, in order to see the new Sonos network, I have to pair also at least one sonos speaker? Thanks in advance

I have Pandora selected as my default music service. However, unless I say “From Pandora” when giving the command, Alexa is always playing from Amazon. The only time this isn’t the case is when my Pandora station doesn’t share the same name of an Amazon station. For instance, if I say “Alexa, play New Age on office” it plays from Amazon, I’m guessing because it’s defaulting to Amazon’s generic genre station rather not than my Pandora one. However, if I say, “Alexa, play Accoustic New Age Radio on office” it grabs my station from Pandora. So the default music service only sorta works, at least for me.

If I ask for the weather on my Echos and Dots, I get it for my UK location. If I ask for it on my Sonos Ones I get it for Seatle, and the Alexa app won't let me save a changed location for the Sonos Ones. This is what Amazon support say: "From your email I understood that your Alexa device is giving you the wrong weather information. I can definitely help you with this. "If you're unable to edit the device location on your Sonos speaker with Alexa, is because this device hasn't been completely released on United Kingdom" Any idea when Sonos will get this working on their devices?

It appears you can only use the master account on a Deezer family package so you can't switch between profiles to listen to another persons music/playlists. Anyone know a way around this or know if any plans are in place to change it?

I recently tried to access my Sonos system (1 Room - Bridge + Playbase + Sub) and it said one of my players was missing. Tried restarting everything. Router, Bridge, Controllers, etc. Incredibly frustrated, I gave up and did a factory reset. Started with the Bridge. Tried to add the factory-reset Playbase. Clicked the connect button and the chime happened. Nothing happened. I've repeated this a dozen times. Feels like Sonos just used to work. I guess things have changed. I'm not a newbie to Sonos, so no need to walk me through the basics of router issues (that's why I have a Bridge) or what a factory reset means. Would love someone to respond who's been through the same mess.

I have a Play:5 that no longer connects to my wireless setup. I already have a PlayBar, Sub and another 5 working flawlessly on the same WIFI network. The speaker connects fine using a direct router connection. For wireless, it turns white but fails. Tried multiple factory resets with the same results. The controller, during setup, finds the speaker and gets stuck on "Please wait while the connection is completed". It then displays the "Not Connected" message.

Will you be able to work with Amazon that will allow output from Echo Dots to SONOS speakers directly. I currently have 2 dots, one is connected to the Lounge Play:5 via Aux, and one in the bedroom but I only have Play:1s there, but as you know it they don't have Aux inputs but it would be useful if the audio output could be configured to temporarily use DNLA to output Alexa requests.

Essentially the description of the Sono ONE (on Amazon) says: Pair two Sonos Ones together in the same room for instant stereo sound. [b][u]Cannot be stereo paired with other Sonos speakers. [/u][/b] (emphasis added) Does this mean I can't have music playing in my Kitchen (my Play:3) and also have that same music playing in my dining room (where I'd put the new Sonos One)? It's a large open room concept for my floor plan so right now I have my Play:3 blasting music (making it hard to cook in the kitchen it's so loud), just so I can have music playing over in the living/dining room for guests. I'd like to add a Sonos ONE to my living/dining so I can play music a moderate volume on both the Play:3 and Sonos One, but I need to know they pair so I can have them playing the same music.

Hi on my new SONOS one a few of the skills don't seem yet to work. The most basic ones that is broken is that of setting a timer. If I say "Alexa set a timer for one minute" then the SONOS one/Alexa recognises this (and indeed these words are recorded/transcribed on my Alexa app), but immediately after Alexa confirms with "One minute, starting now" I get an error "Sorry I'm having some trouble" and no timer sounds. Anyone else have this? Shame, its potentially one of the mos tuseful functions given we have the SONOS One in our kitchen

Without a bridge do you need a speaker connected to the Router at all times. I have had a bridge for a few years and just got 2 new sonos 1's . I already have a 5 and wondered if I can disconnect the bridge and use the speakers without the speaker being wired in to the router. All my speaker positions are not near the router so can't be plug in.

Is it possible to ask Alexa to play everywhere instead of specific rooms?

I’ve got my Connect amps sitting beside my router and they aren’t being recognised or connecting. Tried all troubleshooting. Ended up connecting one via Ethernet, but don’t have any more spare ports on router to connect the other two. Secondary issue, now that one connect amp is connected via Ethernet, this is working but I now can’t find my other older sonos products on the app. Tried my two different controller devices. Driving me nuts.

I use Sonos connect Amps to supply music to wired speakers everywhere in my home except the basement. I have a home stereo / theatre in the basement that I’d like to play Sonos through occasionally. Can this be accomplished using Chrome Cast audio instead of a Sonos connect? The amp for the basement stereo is a Pioneer Elite VSX-60.

I asked this in troubleshooting before realising there was a separate topic for this. We bought a sonos 1 at the weekend to add to our sonos system of 2 play 1s, 2 play 3s and a play 5. The speaker is labelled “kitchen”. It works as a sonos speaker through the sonos app, but we can’t make Alexa play any music. Alexa can answer questions about the weather etc, but doesn’t seem to be linked with sonos at all. We haven’t set up a music account that works through it yet (we have been using deezer), but that isn’t the issue. It won’t link with sonos at all. Eg- If we start music through the sonos app and ask Alexa to stop playing it says “I can change the playback mode only when music is playing”. Which it is. If we ask Alexa to play radio 1 it says “bbc radio 1 from tune in playing in kitchen”. But then “sorry, something went wrong”. And plays nothing. In Smart Home Alexa can see all the speakers. Tried activating and deactivating the sonos skill. But- under Settings

I'm getting a new TV within a week or two and I plan on getting a full Sonos system. (Sub, Playbar, 2x Play One, 2x Play: 5). I want a system that that will excel at both music and movies, meaning surround AND strong stereo speakers. I guess that I assumed that Play:5's could be paired with the Playbar as front L and R (why on earth isn't that the case?) - and I almost gave up, until I saw that you could just make them a new "room" and output the same sound as the Playbar receives from the TV - and this could be the solution for me... The question is though, will this be synced well enough or will it sound horrible, and how will the Play:5's act, when not paired directly with the SUB? (since I guess the SUB can't be paired to both groups, right?) Are there any possibilities I'm missing?

Right, I've done a bit of searching around but haven't managed to find any answers yet. Basically, I'm using 2 play 1's as a stereo pair of PC speakers. I've got my output of the pc into a connect and then onto the speakers. I also have Google Home which I was hoping to have connected to my sonos system as well. Is it possible to run an optical input to the connect AND a Chromecast audio at the same time? Or will the connect only take 1 input at a time?

When i play music and after i stop the music i can hear a static noise from my sonos one. I had been told by sonos to send both my sonos ones back so i did they replaced them with brand new ones and noise still there can anyone help. Also when i say alexia its starts like when speaker is active but turns off after 2 mins. It can be heard from like 20cm away from the speaker. It is not very loud and dont increase or decrease, its just there. After a couple of minutes it stops and the speaker is completly silent. I guess the speaker goes into sleep mode or something. Q: Is this normal? Does all sonos speakers have static noise when you come close?

Hi I have just bought a Sonos Playbar, and I need to disable the internal speakers. The playbar recognize the remote control but each time I turn the sound up it happens both on the tv and playbar, so I need to disable the internal speakers. The TV is Panasonic TXP50ST60Y Does anybody know how to do it?
