How do I activate the non SONOS subwoofer on my SONOS amp?

Like many other post I was planning in getting a Playbar but now the Beam complicates my decision. My situation - - planning to spend about $700 - room size medium (to small) 13’x19’ - tv does not have ARC - i’d like to mount on the wall under tv - Alexa already present in the room with Harmony Option 1 - Playbar Option 2 - Beam with two Play Ones I’m just curious on others thoughts. The bells and whistles with the Beam I really can’t use until I get a new tv. But with the room not huge am I better going after the number of speakers vs the fullness of one.

Can someone kindly remind me how to stop Sonosnet from broadcasting its SSID so cell phone wifi and other devices won't see it and try to connect? I did it previously in another location (I have Sonos gear in two houses), but I cannot for the life of me remember how. It’s an age thing.

Have a Sonos One. Seen Sonos One support AP2 in iOS 11.4. Updated both iOS and Sonos app. Initially, Sonos One didn’t appear on the speaker choice in airplay. And then it appeared, I tested with Music and YouTube. Both worked. Then a while later when I wanna play music again, the options shows only iPhone! Anyone has this issue? How can I fix it? To start, my current SONOS kit consists of 2 Sonos Ones, and a Sonos Connect. Our ecosystem consists entirely of Apple products, so Airplay 2 would be desirable. My ideal goal is to use the Sonos Ones as rears in a surround setting without the sub (for now). I may add a woofer in the future. We live in a medium sized condo... I was offered a Sonos Playbar from a friend for the same price as the Beam will cost. (400$). So a great price, and its in perfect shape, as he bought a playbase. My budget is restricted to this 400$ range, and will NOT be purchasing a subwoofer in the short term. Given my desire for Airplay 2, would my only way to get it AND surround is to add a third Sonos One and group it? In this case would you recommend the beam?

Hi I recently purchased a Roland KF-10 piano, which has two phones jacks (3.5mm and 2.5mm) I wonder if I can connect it to Sonos so the sound can roam through the room. I searched in the community, but the Yamaha model has RCA which made the connection to Sonos Connect much easier. I have Soundbar, New Play:5, Play:1 and One. Thanks!

my sonos play bar and surround sound play 3's work perfectly when i play music or apple tv but when on tv nothing comes out of surround sound speakers. all my components are connected into the tv and then the playbar has optical out. so it clearly works as music and apple tv work but normal tv channels only play through the bar. please help

I did update 8.6 and now it says there’s a problem during the update. I’ve tried it again and it continues to give me the same message. I’ve clicked more information and tried all the possible solutions it’s given me. It’s error code 1101

Hi. Bought a Sonos One, set it up and everything worked great. Then my stepdaughter came by and logged on to my system from her app, without me knowing it. She had already set up her app to her fathers Sonos system, which included some Sonos Play:1 speakers. What happened then is that my system suddenly included one of her fathers speakers (room). Today my system started to update the software/firmware, but stopped during the process, and showed the message "Error code 30: Soverom". "Soverom" is one of her fathers speakers, miles away. Any ideas on how I could fix this? Thanks.

Sonos One is not playing certain skills such as Sleep Sounds (and other similar ambient noise skills). You ask it to open this skill and it does nothing. If you give it a further command in the skill it responds saying "you're currently enjoying Sleep Sounds, etc..." so it thinks it's playing it but it's clearly not.

Hello, I am new here so excuse me if I started in the wrong "area". I have the following feature request: Is it possible to create an option to Disable/Enable the buttons on de speakers (selectable to wich speaker) through the Sonos app? Now there is already a similar like the LED light on the speaker wich you can turn off. The reason for this request is I have a small child that is exploring the world :$ She has noticed the buttons and now can turn on the Sonos system and play with the volume. Thanks in advance!! Hey guys, So I'm thinking of getting the Sonos Beam + Sub, connected to my Sony KD49EX9005 via HDMI Arc playing Plex Media Player. But I have some questions on audio streams. Lets say I have a movie that only has DTS HD MA or one of the other unsupported audio formats what will happen? Will Sonos or the TV auto convert into a playable format? Or will it just do whitenoise? My main issue is I kinda need to go wireless, and dont NEED my current 5.1 setup. If I did I'd defo need new speakers which pretty much costs the same and I'm about to move so dont want to run speaker cable everywhere. There are plug sockets around the back if I decided to add 2x Play:1's or so for 5.1 Sonos setup. Thanks

Hi folks, I currently listen to most of my music in FLAC via Tidal and 2 Play 1's, set up as a stereo pair. I'm considering moving up to a Playbase and Sub, and putting the 2 x Play 1's at the back of the room as the BL and BR speakers in a 5.1 set up. Because of the seating arrangements, this will mean that I'll be more likely to use the Playbase to listen to music, so I wanted to ask if it will do as good a job as my two Play 1's are currently doing?

1) I have a 5.1 set up with a playbase, sub and 2xOnes. Is it possible to increase the volume of one of the rear One speakers in isolation, (it's further away from my seating position) and if so, how please? I've found that the volume control on each of the One's affects all of the 5.1 system as apposed to that particular speaker. 2) Have people experienced the connection between their Harmony remote commands and Sonos a bit flaky at times? Thanks

I would like to leave Sonos Beta testing. iTunes doesn't recognize it, and I would like to not be asked to download updates each time I use the application, especially when apple will not let me use the app on my phone when I do.

I bought a Sonos One today and got Alexa working in The Netherlands just flawlessly ... although they say its not available overhere ... I activated the Sonos Skill, Hue Skill and can control lights and play music on my One ... I can add my other speakers / rooms to the Smart Home Skills in the Alexa-app, have used unique names and when I ask Alexa to play some music by any artist she responds with: " I didn't find anything that can play music in the living room (or master bedroom or kids room) ... I have restarted my speakers twice, reset the whole system, began form scratch twice ... but still ... It worked once this afternoon ... so it it possible to say to Alexa to play music on another speaker in my network ... but she thinks it's not possible ... although they are visible in the Alexa-app ... what can be the issue? Anyone had similar experiences?

My computer systems have been under a surgical cyber attack for 2 months now with BIOS and Firmware modification techniques that identify this as a sophisticated bad actor. Therefore, a firmware modification to a SONOS speaker is easily in the realms of probability here. Anyway, either an update screwed up (which I doubt) or the hacker appears to have modified a PLAY:1 as either a backdoor to tunnel back into the network or as a malware infection point. When doing a network scan, the compromised PLAY:1 does not OS fingerprint in the same manner as the other SONOS devices. The compromised PLAY:1 DNS Cache has a number of URL's and IP addresses in it that may or may not be legitimate (while the other SONOS device's DNS cache's are empty) and UPnP is turned off (but enabled on all the other SONOS devices). So, (if nothing less than to eliminate it from the compromised device list) is there a way to reset / reimage the firmware on the PLAY:1 or fo

So I’m looking at getting a Playbar and eventually adding a sub. I have seen a couple of Playbar’s second hand at a tempting price. My question is, in the history of the Playbar have there been any significant hardware changes that should put me off going down the second hand route? Thanksss!!

So, it's great that when I'm in the living room with music playing and I speak to the Echo in the same room that the volume automatically mutes on the Sonos gear in the same room. However, I find it kind of silly that it mutes Sonos equipment in other rooms. For example, it's 8am, I'm downstairs in my home office, listening to the news or some music on my Play:5. My wife's getting ready to head out to work, and in the bedroom, which is on a different floor and at the opposite end of the house. Both doors are closed too. She takes a moment to ask the Echo Dot in our bedroom about today's weather. And my Play:5 gets muted, despite being nowhere near where she is. Why not group into zones to prevent this? Like "Upstairs Echo & Living Room" get grouped, and "Office Dot & Office" get grouped for muting purposes. I can't see any options in either the Sonos app, Alexa app, or the Sonos Alexa Skill to do something like this, so if the capability exists, it's pretty well hidden.
