I have kids who listen to their sonos music too late. Can we have an "alarm" function that stops music playing at a set time?

How do I play audio (e.g. soundtracks for movies and TV in iTunes) or stream internet content (e.g. netflx or iPlayer) from my iMac through my Sonos system? I've tried a phono lead out from the headphone socket on the Mac into a Sonos bridge "line in", but the sound was poor and very quiet. My music library is on my iMac, and that works fine.

I was under the impression that when I bought Playbar and 2 Play 1's as surround system the Play 1's would help my wife hear the tv better. When watching after set up the surround speakers seem to only play a little sound, but not any talking. This doesn't help her at all. Is there any way to set these up so she can hear without unsyncing from surround set up?

Could the speakers be powered by an POE injector? Im wiring my house with Ethernet cable and it would be cool if these speakers could do that

I have a Samsung UN55C8000 LED tv purchased in 2010. It does not have a native digital optical output jack. Rather It has 3.5mm port. Has anyone made the Playbase work with this Samsung tv? Has anyone used a MINI TOSLINK to TOSLINK cable to get sound from the tv to the Playbar? Can anyone provide the Samsung tv sound settings too? Thanks ?

to listen to xm radio on sonos playbar does the xm radio have to be plugged into the playbar?

Hey everyone, Firstly, I have scoured threads relating to Alexa and Sonos, but haven’t seen anybody ask or answer this question. I currently own one Play:1 and have been waiting for the announcement and details of the Alexa skill before expanding my Sonos range throughout my home. With the recent details of the new Amazon Echo, I was thinking this could be a good option for smaller rooms, rather than another Play:1. So, let’s say I buy two Sonos One when they release - I create a stereo pair in my living room with these, then I have a Play:1 in my dining room with an Echo Dot, then I put a new Echo in my bedroom - if I were playing music on my living room Sonos pair, could I then also play this in my bedroom at the same time on the stand-alone Echo? I’m not sure this would work because of the cross platform and also how grouping works in Sonos (I don’t own any Echo products, which may be why I’m asking this question), so thought I would ask those who have both! Thanks

I have a play bar connected in my lounge room with TV and multiple sources connected. If I have it set to TV after about 15 minutes of no input to TV it switches to Music.  It also seems to default to Music.  How can I get it to default to TV.  We use the TV 90% of the time in the lounge room and this is frustrating.

Hi there im not that great with tech ive had sonos play 3 for a few months now and have been listening to spotify through it but since friday night i cant connect when pressing nearby devices am i being daft or is there maybe something im missing .thanks for any help

It appears as if my entire iTunes library is not being indexed by Sonos. I checked the details of the songs some are in an m4p format. Others appear to be just regular mp3. My library is approximately 66 GB. How can I make sure it all syncs properly with Sonos?

I am living in Switzerland/Europe but I bought certain products in the US. If I enter http://:1400/region.htm then the first thing that shows up is "USA/Canada" and not "EU". If I push on submit I receiver the error 403. There is a password field. But I do not have any password to do such change. What do I need to do to have the right region? By the way my account is set on Switzerland! My diagnose-info ticket that I just made is 8153890.

I have two Play-1's set up in different rooms as separate speakers (not left/right paired) and want Alexa to play the same channel on both speakers at the same time. I know Alexa has Multi-Room music but from what I can tell it only allows Alexa devices and doesn't allow Play-1's to be included. I can get a music channel to play on both Play-1's but the music isn't sync'd.

I have a Playbar, Sub, and two Play:1's for a surround setup at home + other sonos speakers throughout the house. Currently the only Sonos component wired to my router is my Sonos Bridge. Since it would not be difficult to wire my Sub and Playbar to my router as well, I've been considering doing this because intuitively it seems like it would simplify my overall network with fewer individual wireless components. Is my thinking correct? Would there be any benefit?

Hello, I couldn't find anything on this. Does the Sonos One work with the ADT Alexa skill to turn my alarm on and off? I know the Sonos One has limited Alexa skills out of the gate, so wasn't sure about this one. Thanks.

I have a very simple set up: A Sonos One at the front of my house (labelled Foyer), and the Play 5 in the middle of the same room (labelled Living Room). Clearly they are not in stereo, but fill the room between them. When I take a phone call and reach over and tapp down the volume one of them (say the One because it is usually nearest), the volume goes down but the Play 5 is still booming. Alexa only controls the One, and the physical volume controls only control the One. Getting my phone out is so impractical, so how do I link these devices so when I change the volume on one it does it on both? Or can I not? Thanks!

Hi. Playing radio from tunein via voice control is great. Also skipping tracks and changing volume is great. I’m not an online service streaming customer and never will be. I like my music local and I like to own it. When will I be able to tell Alexa to play from. My local library?? Perhaps it’s not someth8ng amazon want to let us do, but my sonos system expansion has been paused for a couple of years now due this missing feature. If a competitor launches the ability then I’ll have to swap, although ideally I’d like to remain a loyal sonos fan. It’s a definite sticking point for me though.

My Apple TV 4K (5 gen.) remote will not connect to my Playbar. The Apple Remote have no mute button wich make pairing the device impossible.. Is there any work arounds? BUT the remote will only turn the volume up! No mather if I push «+» or «-« the Playbar responds by turning the volume up!!

I just got my Sonos One today and am trying to get Alexa up and running. It is working with all of my home automation, Wink, Nest etc, but I can get Alexa to play anything on Spotify, which is my only music subscription service. She keeps saying “cannot play from Spotify music on that Device”. I have linked all of my accounts, and they show up as linked. I also do have a premium account on Spotify. Anyone have any thoughts? She does offer to set me up an Amazon music account when I just ask for a specific song or artist, then plays me a sample of the song.

Hello. I saw the announcement of the Sonos One and the Alexa integration. If I get the Sonos One, will I need to buy an additional Alexa device?

Has anyone paired bluetooth headphones to a Gen 2 Play 5 using a 3rd party bluetooth transmitter / receiver? If it has been done please can you post a step by step guide on how to do it. Do you then play the music as normal through the Sonos app. Thank in advance.

I've got 6 echos.. with any of them I can't enable the skill.. Well, I say that.. I've clicked enable, logged into Sonos and logged into Amazon and authorised, and bam.. Nothing.. just the alexa app opens at homepage. I then go into devices or skills... No sonos devices, no sonos skill! I've clicked voice services in sonos app and I end up in this constant LOOP of enabling it's ridiculous!! I've run discovery by voice and app, nothing. All firmware bang up to date as of even today's update. Could someone please save my sanity to just play some fekkin music through alexa!

I'm moving from a dedicated PC to a NAS for holding my files. I've seen that historically folks like the WD My Book models for a stand alone NAS. Is that still the case? Is there a reason to prefer ethernet over USB? And I gather that I need to make sure the NAS still supports SMBv1. This NAS will exist only for SONOS and not act as a file server in other capacities. Any tips on make/model appreciated.

New to Sonos. I have a 5.1 setup for my TV and also listen to music in the "TV Room." Everythings seems to be working correctly with my Playbar, Sub and two Play:1 speakers. Just one questions I haven't found directly answered on the forum or in support: There are two check boxes in the controller app room settings: TV Autopay Ungroup on Autoplay Can someone explain in clear English what those boxes do and why I would want to check/uncheck one, the other or both? Sonos One Alexa does not work as well as Echo Dot -- does not respond as quickly and sometimes not as accurate -- anyone see this behavior?
