Hi all. I’ve searched and searched but can’t find an actual fix for the problem with the Samsung universal remote. Thought I’d ask the hive to see if someone can point me in the right way. Tv- Samsung qled q7 65 Remote - universal remote Problem - I have my remote working perfectly with live tv and the volume and mute functions work beautifully. I have an Nvidia Shield connected via HDMI. My issue is that I can’t control the volume with the tv remote when I’m watching media through the shield. Note- before I added the Playbar, the remote was able to control tv volume. After the Playbar connection- I just get a pop up saying the audio is connected by optical cable BUT no change in volume. Is there a work around? I’m really sorry if there is a fix that I’ve not been able to find! Thanks heaps in advance. Cheers

I have 3 play:1 in my house and yesterday i bought a sonos one because the store said it was going to work with play:1 but when im trying to connect it dosnt work... Is it going to work or do i have to go back and turn it back and buy play:1 ???

I have two play 5 set up in stereo. Vertical orientation. They sound great but sometimes I want to drop the volume without opening the app and they just don’t respond.

Am I correct in saying that if your TV does not support DD5.1 pass through with HDMI (the majority of TV's) then you will only get PCM Stereo with HDMI ARC on the Beam? Cheers.

hi all, Just completed my renovation and got my new sonos system set up. i have 2 question here. 1) i cannot get the LG remote control to control SONOS playbar and sub volume. My tv set is LG 75UK6500PTB 75 IN ULTRA HD 4K SMART LED TV. can pls advise? 2) i have a play 5 in my masterbed room. my tv set is LG 43UK6320PTE 43 IN ULTRA HD 4K SMART LED TV. i have gotten Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter to convert my play 5 but i cant seem to make it work.. Can someone pls assist?? Thank you so much

Owner of 2 x Sonos Play 1s & Sonos Sub. Bought an LG OLED55E7N on Black Friday last year at a bargain price. TV has a decent builtin soundbar, but can't make use of the surround Play 1s & Sub, which seems a shame. Would you consider the Sonos Beam so can take advantage of a 5.1 setup with the Play 1s & Sub, & disable the builtin soundbar?

Hi guys, I have a pair of Sonos Play 5 ( 1st generation ) speakers in my living room. I am planning to buy the upcoming Sonos Beam but I have one question. Can I use my Sonos Play 5 speakers, which just happen to be on the bookshelf behind me when I'm watching TV ( which to my mind is just the ideal position for them for the surround effect ), both as surround speakers with the Beam when watching TV and after turning off the TV use them again as the main stereo speakers for music without having to do a speaker reset and a Truesound calibration every time ?

Hello I currently have 2 sonos one, and I am considering buying the beam as well. One key thing for me would be if I can combo both my Sonos One and my beam to use with my TV. Will that compatibility be possible?

Hi all, I was using a projector (Optoma HD141X) with apple tv(2. or 3.) generation and home theater. Projector to apple tv with hdmi and projector to home theater with audio cable. Then I bought a Sonos playbase and 2 sonos 1. But I can’t get sound from Sonos when I connect projector. First I connect Optoma to Apple tv with hdmi and apple tv to sonos with optical cable but it didn’t work then I bought a converter. This time I connect Optoma with Apple tv with hdmi, Optoma with converter with sound cable and converter with sonos with optical cable but it didn’t work again. By the way I checked all cables and they are working. I will be really appreciated if you could suggest me any solution. Thanks in advance.

Will be moving to Spain in the next few months and have a large number of sonos speakers purchased in the uk. When I move, will I be able to take them with me?

Does anyone know if the OLED65B7V will passthrough 5.1 from my Sky Q Box to the Sonos playbar via Optical...I currently have an older LG that I use an optical switch to connect the sky box directly to the Playbar. Ideally when I buy my next TV I dont want the switch.

Does anyone know if you can connect the TV to the HDMI of the Beam and a record player (through a convertor) to the spdif and use both (not at the same time of course)?

I have 3 connects in my basement and all have worked fine for the past 3 years. However, there was a short in the electrical outlet that are used for the connects. When I reset the outlet and turned on the 3 connects only 2 worked. The Third connect alternates white and orange light and will not play. Any suggestions?

I have 4 smart TP Link devices which have always worked via sonos Alexa but now when I ask to turn on, change colour etc Sonos Alexa says "sorry, I didn't find front room light". I've checked all apps and the names are correct. I've even reset the sonos one but still no joy. Edit: should add the Echo I have in the bedroom understands and completes any commands I ask of it.

Hello to all. Let’s assume I’m going to buy an Apple TV 4K, and connect it to my TV via HDMI. The TV is connected via optical to Playbar, and I have both Sub and 2x play:1. None of my Sonos speakers is going to be updated with Airplay 2, like I.e. Playbase or Sonos One. But Apple TV is airplay 2 compatible. Can I cast music from my IPhone (Apple Music) directly to Apple TV and listen to it with my Sonos 5.1 setup? If yes, to let it work, must I turn on the TV screen or not? Thanks

Hello all, Another topic caused by the lack of DTS support by Sonos. I invested some money in a new home media entertainment setup. Bought a LG OLED55C7V, Sonos Playbase and Nvidia Shield. Everything works pretty great, however I do run into the problem that .mkv files with DTS audio are being downgraded to stereo sound when played with kodi. I've strounded the internet looking for the ideal settings, but the so called solution of setting Kodi to 2.0 channels and enable audio passtrough is not doing the trick for me. Audio settings on my LG tv are: audio output: auto with SIMPLINK enabled. Anyone able to help me out with this issue? Thank you in advance!

Since Sonos has announced that Airplay 2 is coming in July and that the Playbase is supported - this should be an answerable question Can anyone list the Pro's / Con's of NOT using the Optical Connection from the Playbase to the TV - but instead using the Apply TV Airplay 2 to transmit the sound to the Playbase ?

Playbar with FIOS cable box remote? Currently the volume button on the FIOS remote controls the volume on my Samsung SMARTV... can I program that same remote to adjust volume of the playbar?

For example whenever I try to ask Alexa to play the radio on my Sonos One, it will always say “Hmm to do that enable your Sonos Skill in the Alexa app, After enabling the skill just say, Alexa discover devices.” After going through and determining that the Alexa app has the Sonos Skill enabled , I’m able to go through the website to play music through Alexa but actually telling it voice commands won’t work pertaining to that , or for any skill of that nature. I have seen a few of these postings but they seem to be older. I was wondering if this is going to get fixed? I don't understand why it would all of the sudden just stop playing music after a few songs or sometimes just after one song. Then if I tell it "Echo, next track" it replies "What do you want to hear". So I tell it again to play a station from Pandora and it works just fine. It may play for the rest of the day, it may stop. Very frustrating. Other times when I tell it the second time to play the same station, it tells me that it is already playing. The Sonos app even reflects the same info but yet there is no music coming from the speakers. All of my speakers are on one group and they all have unique names, even separate from the lights that are in the same rooms so there should be no conflict there.

I’m curious. When a system is in ‘Boost’ mode, does a new speaker only use sonosnet to join the system and obtain uodates etc, or does it initially use wifi before placing itself onto the Mesh? I’m guessing the latter. As today i added a new pair of Play Ones in the garage which is integral (in the basement, with concrete ceiling above solid block walls on all sides ) where my iphone could not get a wifi signal (iphones kept seipping the signal if I obtained it outside the gagrage and then entered). I could get a signal inside the ‘house’ part of the basement, and the Play Ones joined, uodated and played like troopers. Router is two storeys up theough two concrete floors. So either Mesh works from the outset or they have some amazingly strong wifi! Anyone know the answer?

I have a Toshiba model 55UL605U TV and Cisco Explorer 8642HDC cable box. I have a Playbase and 2 Play:1's. I have tried connecting the IR Audio to the TV and then to the cable box and the surround sound does not work with either option. It works fine when playing music. The TV has Dolby Digital Plus and the cable box settings for audio say Digital. Any ideas on why the setup is not working?
