Is it possible to connect the Play:1 speaker to a laptop to watch a movie, or does the audio only play music through the approved services on the app? Thanks.

Hello, Is there any way of connecting the beam to a TV with no optical or HDMI ARC connections? The only other connections on the tv are component. Are there any specific adaptors that may work? Thanks in advance

I just added a sonos one and sound bar to my home environment, but I can’t seem to group them with my existing echos such that they all play the same music simultaneously. Is there a fix for this or just not part of the compatibility?

so i got sonos one all set up and alexa was plying music and now when you tell her to play a song she aknowleges the song and says shes playing it but it never plays. any ideas..

I have just added a Sonos Boost to my existing Sonos system. I added it using the iPad version of the Sonos controller software which was straight forward. Can anyone tell me if that's it? Seems too good to be true. Do I need to do anything to connect my Sonos speakers to the Boost (i.e. Disconnect them from the standard wifi network they have been working on) or is it all sorted in those simple set up steps for the Boost?

Is there any API could be used to retrieve speaker software firmware version?

I try to create this configuration: Room name: "Living Room" 1 x Sonos Beam 4 x Sonos Play:1, preferably in surround configuration. my controller is on an Android phone. The main problem that I run into is that I cannot add more that two Play:1 speakers in the same room with Beam (when trying to add more speakers, I don't have the "Living Room" room available in the drop down list on the controller, which forces me to add speakers to another room.)

I have removed the Alexa and Amazon App an re-isntalled it with the account/email asscoiated with the Sonos account. When I attempt to add voice services to the newly added Sonos One it ALWAYS associates the wrong email/account when linking to Sonos. As a result, the proper physical location is never associated with the speaker, not can it be setup properly in Alexa (never saves). I have followed the guidance on factory resetting and I am still in the same place. Very disappointed in how buggy this software is since I bought the One and it won't associate with the proper account or properly play back music from TuneIn or Amazon (no play back). Voice control is crucial and this is just a boat anchor at this point. Any guidance I can get besides the exisitng articles you guys have already published?

Hi! Is it possible to get Alexa to Sonos Beam in Sweden? If yes, how can I install it?

Hi all, we recently moved from the US to Europe and took our Sonos speakers with us as well. Is there any possibility for us to switch powecords in our play:1 from US to Europe? Plan B would be to use power converters, but I just wanted to check. Thanks

Is the Sonos One supposed to be able to set reminders? The Echo can. Alexa told me it cannot set a reminder on this device.

Is there any way to turn off the pop-ups that appear every time a new song plays on the (MAC) desktop controller? Nothing in "Preferences" seemed to offer the option.

I am new to Sonos and have spent hours searching how to turn off the speaker when not home, the only way to stop the sound is to tap pause, must be a better way. Help

So on Dec 17th Apple Music will be available on Amazon Echo devices. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/columnist/baig/2018/11/30/alexa-welcomes-apple-music-amazon-echo/2151574002/ The question is; does this make Apple Music immediately available to those of us who use an Echo connected to Sonos. On Dec 17th will I be able to ask my Echo to play apple music on my Sonos ? Or will Sonos also need to "do something" to make this work ?

Hi, Good to know Alexa routines can now interact with preferred speakers in sonos groups, great work Sonos. However rather than using Music in the Alexa routine to play music via Sonos I’d like to control the volume (and other things) - however Sonos isn’t available as a device in Alexa routines, is this being planned? For now I’ve got a Yonomi routine which Alexa can call in its routine (via the Yonomi scene) however as Yonomi Sonos integration requires a local device running the Yonomi app it’s a bit flakey. Any suggestions on how to make this work better? Stringify doesn’t work in the UK to do this, and I don’t think IFTTT can be triggered from an Alexa routine? Thanks!

No matter what I do to install Alexa, Play 1 will not show online. It is not discoverable. I disconnected my Sonos account from Alexa and then rejoined it to see if that solution would work. Not. But it is showing in my devices. Ran diagnostic 1764600812 Pics attached.

I just got a new tv and thinking about getting the beam. I already have a play 1, play 3 and play 5 (the original ones). Can any of these speakers be used as a stereo pair? I don’t want to have to buy anything other than the beam when I already have these speakers!

Is it possible to pair the beam (in tv audio mode) with a single Play:1 for "semi-surround"? I don't need a second speaker for actual surround, I just want a play:1 near the couch, to enrich sound and make dialog a bit clearer/closer. Thanks! PS: i'm new to this, and loving the Sonos community! Former airport express

Hi! I have read numerous posts about people having problems with sonos and getting the surround system all setup but no solution have worked for me. I have a Sonos playbar, the sub and two play 1. The Tv i have is a Philips 55PUS7150/12. All hdmi ports are marked ARC. From what I understand the tv should be able to do the conversions of audio and hdmi to optical audio and what not. What i've had is the playbar connected to the tv and my PC and PS4 pro connected to the tv with hdmi cables. PS4 pro problems: So what i did in the ps4 sound settings having "Primary output port" to "HDMI OUT" and changing "Audio Format (Priority)" to "Bitstream (dolby)". Before this the sonos app said in the "about sonos" that it only recieved stereo, but after this it stated dolby digital 5.1 in the sonos app. However in practice it wasn't. I've tried playing "test 5.1" videos on the ps4 youtube app with no success (though some people claim the youtube app isn't 5.1 compatible). I've also tried p

Hi all - Just got the PlayBase and it is great for music and for all my TV needs running from my Roku (via an HDMI out and to the PlayBase over optical.) Imagine my surprise to learn that it wouldn't be this easy for Blu-ray and DVD! (They really keep that part hush-hush when they try to sell you these things at the store.) Anyway, my understanding is that my Blu-ray player, the Samsung BD-P3600 (which, admittedly, is about 9 years old), can not output audio into the necessary Dolby Digital. As such, the PlayBase just goes mute and my TV reverts to its interior speakers. Question: If I were to get another optical cable and a splitter and went direct from my Blu-ray to the Sonos for audio (keeping the HDMI for picture) would this solve the problem? Or do I need to bite the bullet and purchase a newer Blu-ray player that can make the audio conversion on its own? (And if this is the case, can I set that as default, or will I need to make an adjustment with each disc?)

I just purchased a Beam (I haven't picked it up yet), but I realized that I don't have an HDMI ARC on my TV. I do have an optical out on my Toshiba. But I have read that I won't be able to control the volume of the TV through the Beam because I don't have ARC. Is there an adapter I can purchase to get that functionality?

Connected Beam but cannot turn audio on tV off

Hello, I have just purchased a Beam. It sounds great however having connected it to the ARC port on my TCL TV avery 30 seconds or so the volumn display on the tv appears for a few seconds and then disappears. This is super annoying as you can imagine. Ive looked into all the settings and cant see how to turn it off. My TV has Android 7.0 software on it. Any help would be great. Thanks

I'm unable to have by Samsung UHD TV 8 series display volume level on the tv screen using my remote. . I have a AT@T U-Verse system and programed the AT@T remote to work with Samsung TV. Both my Samsung or AT@T remote won't show display thru my PlayBar

My room setting fell out of my app. How do add a room there are no options?
