Sonos Beam with Samsung TV UE49KS8000

Alexa turns TV on/off, volume up/down, but will not change channel. Receive "Family Room TV doesn't support that.
Anynet+ is turned on the TV.

By channel, do you mean the TV inputs? The Beam will not change channels with your cable or sat box. It can be configured to work with fire tv and do some navigation through voice there. For TV inputs, the Beam is capable of this and it is supported by the CEC commands, but several TV brands, like Samsung on many of their models, do not support it.

Does anybody know if this is correct? I presumed it would also change channels.

By channel, do you mean the TV inputs? The Beam will not change channels with your cable or sat box. It can be configured to work with fire tv and do some navigation through voice there. For TV inputs, the Beam is capable of this and it is supported by the CEC commands, but several TV brands, like Samsung on many of their models, do not support it.

No. By channel I mean the actual Broadcaster channel e.g BBC 1, BBC2, ITV 1 etc.
