Play 5 stopped working / showing up on app

My Play 5 just unexpectedly stopped showing up in my app/controller. The rest of my sonos speakers are fine. The light is white, but when i press it, it flashes orange. I've unplugged a few times. Tried the factory reset, but it never flashes white/amber... Also tried to install as a new speaker but it doesn't show up. Haven't changed the wifi network or moved it. I've sent diagnostics to Sonos. Confirmation number is 1177807965. This is the first time i've had an issue with any of my sonos gear, so not even really sure how i get a response from them?

Sonos not playing songs from spotify using voice command

Hi, I tried play song using voice command " Alexa! play coldplay song from spotiy'. It says shuffling song from spotify but doesn't play anything. I have submitted diagnostic with ref number 1547443961. Thanks

New Sonos set up for multiple zones

I am going to set up a Sonos system with multiple (3) zones. I have six Play one speakers and a Playbar for TV. I plan on having one zone upstairs and two zones downstairs. Do I need any other Sonos hardware or can I just simply set what I have up and create zones through the Sonos connect app?

Connect-Amp Wont Connect

I have had my Sonos system for about 3 years and has worked almost flawlessly up until about 6 months ago. Now I find every once in a while I'll go on my Sonos App and one of the zones will be gone. Today I see my garage zone is not there and the connect-amp was flashing white......I unplugged it, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in and it flashed white then turned to solid white....but still did not show up on the App. Decided to reset the Connect-Amp; unplugged it, waited then plugged back in while I held the play/pause button until it flashed orange / white / orange / white.....I let go of the buttons and waited.....waited some more.....still flashing orange / white / orange / white I decided to unplug it again, waited plugged it back in and its now flashing white..... All other zones are working fine, including my other Connect-Amp for the patio which by the ways is right next to the Connect-amp for the garage. What do I do???

No Sound From Beam When Converting DTS to Dolby Digital / 5.1 via Blu Ray

Hi. I have Beam, Sub and 2 Ones as surrounds. Connected via HDMI to my Sony 4k TV is a Sony BDP S1200 blu ray. I've changed the Blu Ray settings to convert "DTS Audio to Dolby Digital audio for output" and set "Digital Audio Output" to "Auto", not PCM. According to the Sonos phone App, the sound I'm getting when the movie chapters are displayed is in Dolby 5.1. Certainly sounds like it. However, as soon as the movie starts playing, there's no sound at all. Change the settings to "convert "DTS Audio to Dolby Digital audio for output" and set "Digital Audio Output" to "PCM", and the intro still plays in Dolby 5.1.....But the movie plays in Stereo. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Advanced Settings Removed from PC Controller

In the past when "Advanced" settings disappeared, it meant you needed to upgrade your controller app. I did, but the advanced setting still didn't appear. So I called support and I was told SONOS has removed this from the desktop controller app for technical reasons. Hmmm?, it used to be there. It used to work. I was told to use my phone app as most people use their phone and "it is the way of the future". I have a Microsoft Surface Pro. Maybe someone should tell Microsoft they are not 'in the future'. I also checked my iPad - removed. I have speaker drops on line-in and use the 'compress' setting for music over line-in. But, when I play videos the compression delay (about 1.5 seconds) doesn't sync with the motion, so I go uncompressed and deal with the drop-outs. I don't really want to be part of "the future" if I have to watch videos on a tiny phone or have to have both devices to effectively use SONOS. Silly. So I looked in support and in community and I cannot find anywhere t

Rear surround not working when playing music

Hello, I have a playbar, sub and two play 1 As rear surround. The play 1’s work when the TV is on however they are not working when playing music through the playbar from the app. On the older version of the app there was a setting under room settings to have the surrounds on when playing music from the app. This appears to have disappeared... any ideas?

Lost Playlists when switching to new router

Hello, I am tech challenged and I have 2 Sonos One speakers which I control with my phone and a tablet. Recently my phone broke and was replaced...I also changed wireless so have a new router and service. The problem is that I have lost all my playlists stored with my Sonos system and am unsure how to restore/find them. On my phone, I have a new Sonos App, and just set up my 2 Speakers by "factory resetting" them as instructed on a youtube video. They then were found and reattached as new speakers and are working again. Are the playlists stored IN the speakers? If so, have I lost them forever by resetting? I assumed that my tablet, which has not changed, was storing the playlists but find that it needed to search and find my "New"system and shows no playlists as well...:( My playlists were sourced primarily from my Amazon Prime Music account, but no personal stored music files. If lost, how can i prevent losing all these hours of creating playlists I have set up in the future?

Hey Sonos, any plans for Alexa Apple Music Support in Uk?

Hey, I suspect that commercial issues might prevent this, given the Apple and Amazon mix, but can you confirm whether there are any plans to extend the Alexa functionality to have Apple Music as a default library? I know I can start Apple Music using the app, but I wonder whether it will be possible to set it as the default streaming service in the Sonos Alexa skill in future? Great job with the app btw!

Sonons One / Beam has an echo when connected to TV

i have recently purchased a Sonos Beam and a single Sons One Speaker. I have connected both Speakers, but when i group the Sonos One (i only have the one speaker) with the Beam to enjoy TV sound, there is a distinct echo from the speakers - almost as if the Sonos One is slightly delayed. How do I balance the speakers to get a rich sound, I plan to (when i am able) to buy a second Sonos One, but in the interim I was hoping you could advise how I best balance the TV sound with the Beam and my single Sonos One?

Can I connect a non-smart TV to Sonos One through a transmitter (or other means)?

I have a Sonos One, NON-smart TV, and a TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.2 Transmitter and Receiver. Does anyone know if I can stream the audio from my TV to the sonos one through the TaoTronics or something similar? How?

Install Alexa in Sonos in Spain

Now that Alexa is available in Spain I am trying to set up Alexa with Sonos skill but the skill does not appear in the app when searching for it. Not sure if this is a problem with Sonos, Amazon or what. Any workardound even if it means to use Alexa in english? Thanks

How to connect my TV to the Sonos system?

I have two Play 1's and one Play 5. I am wondering, how can I connect my existing TV to my Sonos system so that I can play sound from Netflix through my Sonos speakers? My TV is not a SmartTV. Is this possible or do I need to buy something else to connect them?

Is it true that the Connect:Amp is not compatible with Airplay 2? I bought this device to plug in my Totem Staff speakers but can’t get any music on. I’m using iPhoneX to stream music and Airpplay won’t show the Sonos in the list of available devices.

Controller for guests

Hi everybody, since there are no sonos controllers anymore (and mine from 2006 is not working anymore), how can I use Sonos for the guests in my B&B? I can't ask guests to download the controller on their phone and give them my password, so what's the alternative?

Projector + Apple TV + Sonos

Hi guys I went through the community topics and found a few posts about similar issues i am facing, however not the exact same one. Here the challenge: I have a projector and an apple TV. Now i am looking for a sound system to connect those products together, with the least cables possible. I was thinking to get a Beam. But: As the projector (and apple tv box) is behind the coach, i would not like to have a cable from the projector all the way to the front wall (about 4-5 meters). I have read about the approach where you put a HDMI switcher/spliter between the projector and the apple TV/Sonos, however, this would really not be practical as then i have a cable from the back of my living room all the way to the front. Is there any other way around that? I am thinking Airplay II etc... Thanks in advance

Left/right mono line-in to two Play 5 (Gen 2)

Hi all, If I were to have two separate 3.5mm mono connectors with the left signal to one speaker and another with the right signal to a second speaker and setting this up with uncompressed signal transfer. How would the stereo separation be? Has anyone tried this? I'm assuming I'd get a 70ms delay but I'm ok with that. What kind of jitter could one expect from a setup like this? Thanks Anders

How to control the volume for each room when grouped

I just bought a connect amp that is connected to my speakers in the kitchen. I also purchased a Play 5 speaker that I control directly via the iphone app. I was told that I can control the volume of each room but do not see how this works. Any help would be appreciated.
