Hello,  I’m confused. I was in the understanding LPCM is not (yet) supported by the Arc. Well, I just hooked everything up to my new LG CX (with eArc).  When playing a movie with Dolby TrueHD or  DTS(-HD MA) through Infuse on the Apple TV 4K which by default converts everything to LPCM, the “About My System”  page in the Sonos App shows the following.  It says “Dolby Multi-Channel PCM 5.1” and of course I can hear the sound as well. I’m just confused about the  “Dolby” part. Isn’t the whole purpose of LPCM that it isn’t Dolby or DTS. What am I missing?   **Moderator Note: Please censor personal information if posting pictures.**

Hello,This is my first question to the community.  Hoping to get some answers and that it’s a simple solve.I recently purchased a Beam and connected it to my new Samsung TV.  Took me a few tries but realized that connecting the Bean to the HDMI (ARC) port was the way to go.  The Beam worked great for streaming services (Movies & Audio) and I was extremely pleased with the quality of sound. The problem arose when I connected my Optimum Cablebox to the TV (using HDMI) and there was no audio coming from the Beam while watching TV through the Cablebox.  Picture and everything else works fine.I checked audio settings on the cable box - Double checked settings on the TV and still nothing. My guess is that there is something simple that I’m missing here…Cable is connected to the TV via HDMI. Beam is connected to the HDMI (ARC) port on the TV.Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have a Sonos Arc, Sub (gen 3) and a pair of OneSL speakers. Connected to an LG C9 OLED TV with eARC enabled. Much Dolby 5.1 content (specifically e.g. Friends on Netflix and Iron Man 2 on Disney+ but there is more) has inaudible dialog when played from an Apple TV 4K. Dolby Atmos is fine. Also the same content is fine when played from the television’s in-built Netflix and Disney+ apps. My previous soundbar, also eARC, was fine so it seems to be something to do with the Arc. Can anyone else try this and let me know if you have the same problem? Anyone have any suggestions?

My Sonos earc will trigger the screensaver on my Sony OLED a8h TV when listening to content from a cable company plugged into an hdmi port. Only the image disappears replaced by the TV screensaver. The sound continues to be played. This screen saver keeps reappearing until I use the controller to navigate through the Android apps offered by the TV without having to activate them. Subsequently, the broadcast via the cable distributor is carried out without problem ... until the next day. Yes the screen saver option is on off on the tv...

I currently have a Arc, Sub Gen3, Pair of Sonos One 5.1.2 home theater setup. Wondering if I should switch the rear speakers to Sonos Five speakers? Would it enhance the home theater experience or would it be a overkill? I am willing to pay the extra money for Sonos Five as long as it enhances the experience by a considerable amount. Also, 2nd part of my question is if I do use Sonos Five as rear speakers and stream music to this system, does the music that come out of Sonos five, Sub Gen 3 (and arc sound bar) will be same as if I had a 2.1 system with Sonos five and Sub gen 3 or since this is in home theater setup, music experience is difference from standalone 2.1 system built with these same products. Note: My question is after changing the setting in Arc home theater system to play full music in rear speakers instead of using it as ambient speakers

Following installation of a new Sky hub I am unable to connect to my Sonos system on my HP Desktop computer (Windows 10); however, I am able to connect to Sonos using my Android phone and tablets (both use the S1 app). When I start the S1 Controller App on the laptop it opens with:In the “More Options” section I tried “Connect to Existing Sonos System” and However, when I try to open the Sonos app again I get the same message as shown in the first screenshot (above).I have just installed a new hub and updated new Wifi name and password on all my devices. My system is: 1 x BRIDGE (Version 11.2.2 2 x PLAY 1 (Version 11.2.2) 1 x PLAYBAR (Version 11.2.2) I have tried all the remedies in the website troubleshooting guide, i.e. unplug and restart router, etc.  I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Sonos1 app on desktop; and made sure VPN is turned off.Thank you.>

I have set up a Sonos surround system (Playbase + 2 Sonos Ones) with Google Assistant.  I would like the Google Assistant to respond out of the RIGHT Sonos One surround, but at this time I believe it is not possible. I have tested and tried every combination of setting up the speakers without success.  When the Sonos Ones are not paired as surrounds to the Playbase, it is simple to add GA to either of them.  When they are paired as surrounds, the assistant can only present in one of them--which is understandable as the system recognizes the three speakers as one unit.  The default speaker Google Assistant is added to is the LEFT Sonos surround.  There does not appear to be a way to change this. I originally thought it may be defaulting to a certain speaker due to a naming preference--like it a naming appearing first alphabetially.  This is not the case--I tried every combination of unpairing and renaming the devices and testing.  I thought perhaps it was a case of a preference for cert

There have been a few posts on this, but I wanted to add another one. Please integrate with Google Podcasts!

Is it OK to leave the Move on its charger full time?   Will over charging diminish long term battery life like it does to cell phones?

Is there a recommended longer HDMI that will work with Sonos ARC, the one that came with it is shorter, I need 10' atleast, I have an LG OLED CX 2020 with eARC. I ordered the Crutchfields premium HDMI cable and it didnt work. Please assist.

System: I have a 2017-vintage Connect that ties a Marantz receiver + Integra power amp + several in-wall wired speakers to three Play 1s and a Move. (Essentially, we had a wired house before I integrated it with Sonos.) It’s unclear to me what benefit I will get from trading in the Connect for a Port. The trigger is of limited benefit because the Marantz amp is usually already on. Sounds like S2 will offer support for Tidal Masters (nice, not sure it’s worth the upgrade) and some as-yet undefined other improvements to the user interface.  How are other Connect owners thinking about the cost/benefit of shelling out $300 for a Port? It’s just not clear to me what I will get in return for the outlay. Thanks

Hi learned Sonos Community since the change to Sonos s1 whilst playing radio via Sonos thro tunein I keep getting the same ad appearing, never happened before any one else had same issue   thanks   Al

I have been a SONOS customer for the past 6 years almos. I was very happy...A month ago, I moved from Windows to Linux on my desktop PC, I tried Wine under Linux and removed it.I am using currently NOSON as a replacement desktop controller under Linux, but - I have a lot of music stored locally and can’t find a way to play that, as I used to during my Windows time…Any suggestions?ThanksAlex

Hi all-  This may have been answered in a thread already, but I’m gonna go ahead and throw it out…I just purchased a Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB turntable – build amp & BT.  I also purchased the Sonos One wired speaker – I thought this would have a re-chargeable battery – apparently it doesn’t but I’ll address that separately.I cannot get the turntable to connect with the speaker so I guess I’m missing something.  The turntable will connect, thru BT, with my TV sound bar, but I want it to connect with the Sonos speaker so I can move the speaker wherever in my home I’d like while I re-live listening to vinyl records. Can someone tell me what I’m missing… please??in advance for the help…

Will we be able to see Dolby Atmos on Sonos Beam in the near future?

I have been running my system on S1 seeing as I had a bridge and Play5 not comparable. I have a number of devices so took the advantage of upgrading those products (still waiting for the Play5) but have removed the old Play5 from the network. I installed the new Boost and then updated the system to use S2.All working except, my playbar/sub/s1-surrounds group. I have them connected for use with the TV (Home Theater) as well as being able to use them for music from the Sonos app. They worked fine with S1, but all I can get to work with S2 is the Playbar. When I select the room, I can see the 4 units in the group and can see controls for EQ-Sub and Surrounds but changing any of the setting for Sub or surrounds does nothing. I have removed the Sub and the Surrounds from the group and then set then up again but still the same issue, they don't work. If I remove the Playbar I can then get the Sub and the Surrounds to work. Can anyone suggest what I need to do to get these working together agai

I saw this questions asked a few times so here’s an updated one as the tech / adapters get better. I’ll keep y’all informed if there’s any updated news or workarounds that work for me. In the meantime, if y’all have any suggestions, please help :) Original thread and replies along w/ pictures: https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/iie1d8/tech_request_sonos_beam_w_3rd_party_subwoofer/----Hi everyone,I'm looking for some tech help on how to connect a [[[Sonos Beam x 3rd party subwoofer]]].I've tried with two brands so far: 1. Setup the Beam/Sub to a Samsung Plasma TV via optical, not ARC; disabled TV speaker and set to external; followed Sonos procedure to set DirecTV Genie RF remote and all work fine except that the remote is sending a volume control signal to the Beam and the TV and I get a “Not Available” message. The Sonos Controller app sent me to a support page with lots of different remotes and how to fix the problem. I navigated to my Genie remote to follow the instructions, and I get to Step 6 “setup program audio device”, but I do not get that option. I can Pair/Program Remote and I can see Program TV; I can IR/RF Setup that tells me to press the mute and “enter” buttons to start pairing; or I can reset the remote. What am I missing? What do I need to do to get my Genie Remote to reset itself to not send a volume control signal to the TV?

Hi, I have a Sonos Move and I find it almost impossible to connect a new mobile device to the speaker. In other words, if a friend wants to connect his phone to play music it is such a struggle that we usually just give up. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Once paired, is there anyway to identify the left and right speaker? I suppose I could unpair them, repair them and then put a mark or sticker on one, but there should be an easier way.

My Sonos One microphone touch control is not working, if anyone has an idea what might be wrong then tell me please.

The mantle inside dimensions are 5"h x 71"w x 6"deep.  I may try to hide a cable box in here too.  My questions are: 1). I can lay the Playbar on it's back, with the mount holes on the bottom? 2) will I still be able to exprience nearly the same quality of audio with this covered by a speaker foam across the face of the mantle?

Hello, since some months ago I had Playbar connected to the optical of the TV. Xbox one X and PS4 were able to transcode DTS to DD5.1 without issue on my bluerays Now I moved to Arc with eARC connection and I’m no more able to. does anyone have the same issue?   thanks

I have two Play:1, one Play:3, one Playbar, one Sub, a Sonos One (Gen 1), and one Connect which I purchased approximately 3 years ago. All of these appear to be on the Legacy Products list, but you currently do not have a modern product to take the place of my system products. Will I have to upgrade my entire system after May 2020 or the near future and does this mean that you will ONLY offer me 30% on new products which is a pittance of what I purchased my entire system for? On a different note, I was informed my products were manufactured in 2015 or earlier and only had a 5 years or so lifespan. Why didn’t Sonos recall the older products knowing back then that these systems would be outdated in the future? Because of course, retailers aren’t going to TELL a customer that a product has a shelf life because they are all about the profit and will sell the product no matter what.
