I want to put a roam under the overhang on my front porch and charge via a solar panel similar to my ring camera. I’m live in Santa Barbara (home of Sonos!) so weather isn't that much a factor but my 2 questions are: Would the solar panel (2-5W) charge the roam? I wouldn’t be using it a lot but didnt know if it needs to be a certain watt size to take a charge. can the roam remain “on” so i dont have to turn it on each time similar to my move or other sonos products.

Sonos Roam suddenly seems dead. Tried a reboot but light above Sonos logo does not appear. If hold back button orange light comes on for a while but then goes off. Can't do much else. Any ideas?
I have two Sonos Roam speakers can I use a wifi or bluetooth microphone and set them up as a PA for a meeting?
Roam battery drains even with device off! is that normal?
Hi - that’s the problem. Listening to roam and it/they go to zero volume randomly. Makes them unusable.Controlling using iOS, sometimes through Sonos app, sometimes using another app (Apple Music, Spotify, etc). Happens on BT and on networked system. So the problem is constant across all connectivity and across apps. Any help appreciated!
Hi, I had an existing setup of Sonos One and Sonos 5 Gen2 that worked fine prior to buying a Roam & Roam SL (paired in stereo). The Roams are connected to my router (Fritzbox 7530) on 5Ghz band and the older speakers on 2.4Ghz band. The ssid for the two bands is the same. Google assistant fails on the Roam (setup fine on the Sonos One) and when I turn on the Roams, the One and 5 disappear from the Sonos app. Spotify can still see all speakers in this instance though. Are these known issues? Thanks in advance.
Hoping this will help some others overcome this funky software.I set up a pair of Roam devices on network A.I then needed to change them to network B.I hard reset both Roam devices and connected them successfully to network B.Less than 30s later, they disconnected from network B and reconnected themselves to network A.Solution:go to System > Network > Manage Networks > click network A > Remove restart your phone (to make sure Sonos app is not running!) reset your device follow the procedure to add a new device and you should be good to go
I am not able to complete setup of my Roam on my iPhone. When it says “Make sure light flashes green and white, then press the Play button”, I do press the button (duh) but nothing happens. I used to have it setup on this phone I believe, but now for some reason I cannot set it up again (WiFi change?).Anyway I tried:Reset app Reset Roam …By resetting the Roam, it would appear in auto setup, but I’m stuck at “press the button” step with no help. It’s an incredibly frustrating setup experience, with such a price tag, Sonos should do much better. I’ve spent more than one hour already, wth.My Roam is rendered USELESS. Incredible. For such price tag I may just stick to Apple products, no frustration whatsoever NEVER.Very clown product if you ask me.
I have two Sonos Plays and a Roam. I can group the Sonos plays together, but not the Roam. All are visible in my system and selectable in the Grouping option, but when I try to save the group (either with all devices together or just the Roam), I receive the following error: “Unable to save group. Try again later”. I have tried later, much later, and much much later to no avail.
Hello,Do you know if it is possible to connect a Sonos Move with it? :> A Bluetooth turntable (brand: MARLEY)> Pair with a Sonos Play:5 (2nd generation) Are there any constraints? Thank you, Moderator edit: changed Five gen 1 to Play:5 gen 2 for accuracy
I have a Sonos Move. It seems sick! The top touch controls don't work, and the Bluetooth wireless button doesn't work. It says it's charged the lights flash white, and I get an ora ge which turns to green but I can't turn on Bluetooth to reconnect to the system. Then after a while I get a red light. Nothing changed on my system, location, router etc.... this seems to have come out of the blue!!!Can anybody help?? Please
My Sonos MOVE has been connected to my network for 3years… then all of a sudden (for whatever reason) last week it disappears from my network. I have SEVERAL Sonos products and each of them have all been (and are still) connected w/no issues. I’ll add that I’m able to Bluetooth to the device just perfectly fine.Going thru the setup - Sonos app sees the MOVE, goes thru the motions as if it’s going to add it back to the network only to end in an error of “There was a problem connecting your Sonos Move”.I’ve completed all of the recommended troubleshooting steps of unplugging my router, etc… and I’m stuck in this loop of ultimately ending back at the same error msg.Attempts at a factory reset have not gotten me back to a flashing green light. Am open to suggestions at this point. Thanks!
There are different types of Bluetooth codec supported by different devices. In layman’s term and as far as you may be concerned, Bluetooth codec has to do with audio-delay (lip-sync latency). In case you ever want to know if your Sonos Move is compatible with another device in terms of Bluetooth codec, then you should know it is SBC codec. SBC codec maybe the codec with the highest audio-delay. A tip that I can share with you to minimize this delay is to use a Bluetooth transmitter that is connected via optical cable.
Hello for 3 days my sonos roam lowers the sound alone when listening music on Spotify then goes off on its own when the battery is full? I tried to reset it, the problem comes back.. Anyone else has this trouble ? Thanks you
When I purchased my first sonos products they were considered “state-of-the-art” stuff. But they seem to have stopped developing and improving. Sonos is not even mentioned in this Engadget article. Maybe they could give us the ability to use headphones with the system.https://www.engadget.com/best-portable-bluetooth-speakers-133004551.html
I'm looking to use my symfonisk lamps as TV speakers. Can I use a sonos roam as my wireless connection from the tvs Bluetooth and group the roam and symfonisk lamps together. Would this work?
Hi, my music just started cutting out after a few seconds recently so I thought I'd start from scratch.. I attempted a factory reset but the device is now stuck on the orange and white flashing led.. does anybody have a solution for this?
I have asked to the support if Sonos roam can be continuosly used while connected to a power source. They say it is not recomended: charge it, disconnect it from power and then use.Does anyone understand why ?I think it is normal to use it connected whether it is not necessary to move it.
FEATURE REQUESTIt would be cool if you could long-press the play/pause button on the Roam to turn it on, and then automatically group it with existing playback in another room.I often strap my Roam to me and walk around the house with it grouped to another room. I have to turn it on, wait for it to wifi, then group it to the other room. It would be nice to automatically wake/power it with the same long-press action that places it in a group. The Roam takes some time to power up, so it might not be an instant response. However, I think it would cut out a step in my workflow (maybe other users too?...) if Play/Pause also served as a POWER ON button when long-pressed.Maybe an audible chime on the long-press from sleep/standby/off will indicate that the speaker acknowledges my request and is working on it.Totally a first-world problem. But something I would like to have.Any thoughts?...
Hello Everyone,I recently went on an extended work trip and wanted to bring my roam to listen to in the hotel. The bluetooth worked at first but after a week or so, it acts as though it has been completely forgotten by my home system and I can no longer use the bluetooth because it is acting like it has never been set up before.I tried making a local network on my laptop with the same WIFI network name and password as my home system but the app then wants me to reconfigure all of my devices to the new local WIFI network I made which obviously can’t happen since I am not at home.Additionally, I have tried adding the roam to the local network but when sonos checks for updates to the app, it gives me an Error 1001.Any help will be appreciated as I will not be home for at least 2 months and would like to have a decent speaker to listen to. Thank you!-Jake
I have a non-functioning Roam. When placed on charging base, or charged by USB, there is a solid orange light for 10-15 seconds which then disappears.I’ve tried the holding of the power button for 15 seconds thing a number of times, on and off the USB and the charging base. The Sonos app recognises its disappeared but can’t find it again. No tones indicating being turned off or on again have been apparent. Rest of system functional. I can’t be certain, but it may have been left off the stand long enough to drain the battery. I’ve left it for long periods on the charging base, and also by USB-C. No joy!
My Move, out of nowhere, started playing these mixed voices, like a records playing backwords. My wife was so creeped out, she wants to throw every Sonos we have in the whole house in the trash and might them on fire. It is super creepy. Seriously. WTF is going on. She paused it, then unpaused to make the video, but these sounds started in the bathroom while we were watching TV in the bedroom. Here is a YouTube short I made of it, cause I can't post a video here, only pictures. https://youtube.com/shorts/OJ-869INwEs?feature=share
HelloI have a problem with my roamWhen i turn it on and press play it connects to the last radio station, so it usese the wifi but when i try to access the setings from the sonos app it just sees it ppwer off. What can i do pls?Already tryed the 12 swconds reset and did nothing.
Hi!I own a Roam SL, which I am generally very happy with - except for one detail.Unaware of the Sonos ecosystem concept, I bought it because I needed a new bluetooth speaker, and it had good reviews and a good size for what I needed it for.Unlike any other bluetooth speaker I have/had, the Roam does not automatically attempt to connect to the last device it was connected to when powered on; my JBL Go (which died) did it, JBL Go 2 (also dead, replaced by the Roam) did it and my Yamaha THR10-II does it, and it is such a convenient feature. As covered in this forum post, this has been requested before. So, it would be wonderful if the Roam could do this as well. Cheers!
