Portable speakers

I have been a huge fan of Sonos for many years but just had one is probably the worst customer service experience with any company that I can recall. I purchased a Sonos Roam with the idea that I could use it in a small room in the house on Wi-Fi and bring it to the office to use on Bluetooth. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the speaker where it powers off on its own randomly anywhere between 10 minutes to an hour. I reset it to factory settings, without resolution. After 90 min (mostly holding) w tech support, they could not figure it out and wanted me to video the speaker to capture the random moment it powers off. I explained that I do not have time to waste doing that (could be 45 minutes or so of recording). They then told me to call sales for an exchange.  After another 30 min w sales, I was told it would be escalated and I would get a return call.  2 days later I still did not hear back, and called again.  After another 30 minutes, I was told its 10 days past th

I just got a new Sonos Move.The setup with the Sonos App stops at:“One or more apps on your mobile device are still using Airplay. To continue setup, go into the app and change the audio output for your device, then return to the Sonos app”.I am stuck there since I do not know what device or other app this is referring to.Any suggestions?

I have a Sonos S1 system at home with a Play 3 and Play 5. I realize these are older products. I have downloaded the S2 controller to try to add the Sonos Roam I purchased today.It’s not letting me add it as it’s showing my S1 products and labeling them incompatible. I’m not seeing Roam at all (it’s powered on). Don’t really know what to do at this point. 

I recently bought a era 100 and a roam. The roam constantly stops playing when in airplay. The battery is over 80% and it drops off the network and I have to turn it off and on again. This happens several times an hour. I have a system of ubiquiti unifi in wall access points. Can anyone help?  The era is fine. 

I bought my Roam to use in the garden but it keeps dropping off during use.  Any suggestions?  Pretty disappointed so far  

Is it possible from a software's perspective to provide an update to enable Wifi and Bluetooth Mode at the same time ? When on Bluetooth i feel the assistance feature is useless. Or atleast possible to keep the Assistance Enabled irrespective of the Mode ? Or its a hardware limitation on Move ?

Hello!We bought from you two Sonos Move boxes. We tried to set up one of them and the process was pretty straightforward and we are able to configure and control it from Android and Windows through your applications and our WiFi LAN. We played some music from Spotify to test the product.Our problem is as follows:We have a hall (a church but it doesn’t matter in our discussion) in which we have microphones tied to a Windows laptop. We receive the sound in this laptop and we can hear it in a sound processing program (Audacity - for conformity).How can we send this sound in Sonos boxes? (We are not interested in playing internet sound streaming through them - just the sound from our local hall - the church).We want a local soulution through our L

I thought the days of wrestling with the Roam were behind us, but alas, I am having connection problems once again. I recently changed internet providers and of course that necessitated a new router. All my other Sonos kit transferred easily to the new router. Only the Roams (I have 2) have caused me problems.The app says my black Roam is "not connected" and the white Roam is "powered off". Both have direct power and are fully charged.I am able to link to the white Roam by Bluetooth, but I can't get either to link to the wifi. In fact I can't even get the black Roam to go into pairing mode (side rant, I still really hate the flimsy, recessed power button on the back of the Roam and its time-based functionality) I have tried everything. I have powered everything down, I have run the "find missing products" feature but it always fails. I wish there was an ethernet port on the Roam so I could at least hardwire it.

Hi there,the Sonos Roam is supposed to indicate a low battery by flashing the orange LED. Mine does not do that. Even at 10% or less. It is new.Any ideas?Regards,Julian

Roam stops working, assistant says can’t connect to wifi, Roam not visible in Android app.In Windows desktop app Roam is visible and works normally, check for update and desktop app reports that an update is required, Roam is updated, after update Roam appears in Android app.This has happened on a number of occasions, I wonder why?

I can be playing an album through Amazon Music on my Roam when it suddenly goes silent.  I can see that the song still plays on the roam as time moves.  I have tried switching off and on again but it doesn’t work.However, there is no issue if I go to a myTuner radio station or a Pocket Casts podcast.  I can then go back to Amazon Music later and it plays fine.  I can’t see any correlation between the album being in HD or UHD.

I have the Sonos Roam. I have it connected to my epson projector through Bluetooth for sound. is there a way to stop the Sonos from automatically turning off when I turn the projector off. it turns off with projector but won't turn on when the projector turns on. Is there a way to stop it from turning off or is there a way to get it to turn on when the projector turns on. I use Navida shield as my tv source. Thank you

I have 2 Sonos Roam for use in both my home system and while traveling. I’m now on vacation and brought both Roam’s with me - in the home system they were working no problem. But now in my vacation location they refuse to power on. They’ve been charged overnight, during which time an orange LED appears at the base of the Roam. However that’s it. I’ve tried powering on normally, doing a hard reset etc but nothing seems to work. They’re both completely dead. The only function they seem to have is the orange LED when charging.  Basically extremely frustrated and hoping I can find some answers here! 

HiI am about to buy a Roam or Roam SL but have read about severe battery drainage on the Roam with microphone. These posts are 2 years old.It will be used primarily outside (I don´t know if Automatic Trueplay only works within walls)  and Google Assistant will not be used.Will the Roam drain battery quicker than the SL with the microphone turned off?

I’m beyond frustrated with Sonos. High quality, expensive hardware with some of the worst software. Bought a new Sonos Roam, took hours to set up, had to download the new app. Now the rest of the system doesn’t work.has to set up two networks. Sonos 5 now will not even power up and roam can’t be grouped. So I have an expensive mobile speaker that only works off broadband, must have internet and doesn’t group with my other products! 🤬 which clown came up with this corporate strategy. Next job marketing manager for Budweiser. 

Hiwhen I try to pair my switch to the move via Bluetooth I get an error message. The device is found but the connection is denied each time. I read on reddit other users having the same issue. Do you confirm that ? Does anyone have a solution for this?

I am trying to set up a Sonos move for the first time. It shows a message saying "Sonos move is connected to wifi but may not show up in the system tab. If so press and hold the power button for 5 seconds then turn on again and continue setup from the systems tab."However nothing shows!! I have reinstalled the app and reset to factory settings multiple times and cannot think of anything else. 

I’ve never experienced so many problems with a pair of speakers. There has never been ONE time I’ve tried to use these speakers that I have not run into connectivity issues taking less than 20 minutes to resolve. Every other device in my home stays connected so it is NOT my router. Does anyone else have these issues? If I could return the speakers I would but it’s far too late and they were a gift. At almost $1000 for a pair you’d think these type of issues would have been resolved long ago. Very frustrating.

Hello, I have several Sonos speakers throughout the house including a Sonos Move and Sonos Roam. For some reason the Sonos Roam continually disconnects from the System. I can add it back by resetting the Roam but since this happens every couple of days I am assuming there is something wrong. Is this a known issue?  I have a very strong Network and have no other issues with Sonos products (including the Move). Thanks. 

I set up my Roam via my Sonos system + home wifi but I am a landscaper and toss it in my bag daily and I would say one out of every 10 days it actually works. It is a NIGHTMARE product.Has anyone figured out how to keep it paired to your iphone? I usually can’t re-pair it unless I’m on the homeowners wifi, and even then it sometimes doesn’t work. I also shouldn’t be asking strangers for wifi passwords to play music for our team. It’s insane. Often when it’s paired and playing, it will just drop suddenly and not reconnect for the rest of the day - and no it’s not dead.  Anyway, I’ve learned that I have to re-pair it to my phone in the AM before I leave for work EVERY MORNING and carry it into gas stations, nurseries, etc (keep it on my person essentially) in order for it to not disconnect because if it loses the pairing, we don’t have music for the whole day.☠️  

TL;DR - Roam is arguably the infuriating portable or bluetooth speaker I’ve used. 10/10 regret this purchase. Context:Had a home-wide Sonos setup (arc + surrounds + sub) + (2x fives + sub) + (2x ones) + (move to bring to the backyard / on trips where space isn’t a premium) before buying my Roam - so am very familiar with the ecosystem Also have some Nests dotted around for voice control - again, very familiar with the wireless sound ecosystem Needed to replace our ultra-portable bluetooth speaker (use cases where the Move is too cumbersome such as quick trips to the park or trips where flying is involved) Purchased a Roam, charging pad, and case; set it up in a room that didn’t have a One/SL to be used on wireless mode but also available for bluetooth portability; works fine in wireless mode.Challenges:Immediately out of the box it didn’t work and needed to be replaced. I own a Sonos Move and have noticed that it powers off exclusively during playback, despite being connected to a charger, leading me to believe that the issue isn't related to the battery. After consulting customer service, they suggested that it may be due to interference, but the device continues to power off on its own. Can you offer any suggestions on resolving this issue?

When I plug in my Sonos Roam, the red light on the front appears but it does not respond in any way to pressing power buttons or any other buttons, and it is not appearing to connect via Bluetooth or WiFi. At the moment it’s essentially an expensive paper weight, any idea what is wrong with it?
