Sonos Roam purchased in US, won't connect to WiFi network in Rome, Italy

I have a Sonos Roam, purchased in the US, which worked fine there.
Currently living in Rome (no puns intended here) and have not been able to get the product to connect to any home WiFi network. Have gone through all the troubleshooting.
Not sure if there is some fundamental difference in network settings between US and Italy (would be strange?)

Am considering having my Sonos Beam shipped to Italy as part of a move, but don’t want to bother if these products just can’t be configured for Italian wifi networks.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are differences in the channel utilization. In Europe you can use channel 1 to 13, while in the US you can only use 1 to 11. You need to make sure that your WiFi is not set to channel 12 or 13 otherwise Sonos probably can’t connect to it (assuming they are following the rules).

That’s helpful, thanks. Do you happen to know how one can verify what channel the Wifi is using?

inside the app it shows you what channel its connected to.  Under Network after you click on the device in the settings tab on bottom right.

The Roam should connect to the wireless network. Ensure the network meets the Sonos System requirements and the requirements are in situ for the S2 App as shown in the below Sonos Support links:

System Requirements:

S2 App Requirements:

…and ensure the new local WiFi network has been switched/added to the system by following the instructions mentioned here (That’s assuming you have not factory reset the Roam and the Sonos App):

Just to confirm, these ‘new’ networks aren’t blocked by a login page, by any chance?
