The Arc and Beam are two contenders for purchase.  But which one will provide the best clarity of dialogue in movies and programs viewed on the Sony OLED tv?     There is a lot of ‘production’ in cinema today and much of it masks dialogue.  I welcome your opinion

Hi everyone, First post and a new Sonos owner.  I have a new Sonos Beam positioned above the television as per the image. And I have just purchased a further two Sonos One (2nd Gen) speakers. I would like to know how best to position these for the best experience. I am thinking of placing them either side of the sofa as per the pic, is this the best solution and would I benefit more if I had one above the sofa in the left hand corner, and have the other one in the further corner on the same side of the room? I am a newbie so thought of reaching out to those who are well versed with the Sonos systems. Thanks all  

Has anyone ordered the Arc from Best Buy? I ordered mine on August 13, and still no info on when this will be delivered. Best Buy customer service unable to get any info.

I have just replaced my playbar with a Sonos arc, so I could play my music from my I pad. But I find that the bass is lacking using the arc.I could add a sub but my room is only 5.4mx3.4m. In size.is it possible to turn the sound down on the sub without effectingthe arc sound level.I find the arc better for tv sound than the playbase.sound was out of sync with the playbase when using a sky q box,  

Hi, I’m brand new to Sonos having just bought a Beam, a One and a Boost today. I’m intending to set them up tomorrow and after poring through numerous threads in the community I’ve become a bit confused. The house I’m setting them up in has Plusnet 4 mbps broadband with faster broadband not being available in that location. In the room with the router and TV it is adequate for everything I do but elsewhere it is often flaky. I’ve just bought a BT Whole Home mini system to hopefully solve that which I’m also intending to set up tomorrow. The TV is old and has HDMI and optical outputs but not HDMI Arc. What I’m not sure about is how the BT system and the Sonos Boost will co-exist and how to best set them up. I’d been intending to connect the Beam to the TV with the optical adaptor and to the router with ethernet (because I’d read that a wired system is better with poor wifi). Hello. I have two Sonos One - kitchen and study. They have both stopped being recognised by both mobile (iPhone), and laptop (MacBook Pro), apps. Currently they are redundant yet only 16 months old. No reply from Sonos customer care nor the CEO link on the help pages. All other items (Beam; 5 and Play 1’s in living room), working OK. I’d appreciate your thoughts.

I have a Beam along with a 3rd Gen Sub and one pair of One SL speakers all set-up for TV/Theater audio.  Sounded so great I just bought another pair of One SL speakers as I wanted more coverage in the room. So I now have 4 One SL speakers but cannot get them configured so they all play together for home theater and TV (I don’t use them for music).  I’ve fumbled around with the App for an hour now and see conflicting info on here as well. Is it possible to create a true 5.1 surround system with 4 One SL speakers, a Beam, and a 3rd Gen Sub?  Or did I just waste money on second pair of One SLs that I can’t add to my existing set-up?Thanks!

When I’m watching cable TV, the television goes into idle with a black screen and Bravia logo on the right bottom corner of the television. What is the work around for this ? I’ve tried everything. Seems like I’m not alone as other Sony users have seen this issue. Thanks !  

I am thinking if buying a SONY A9G TV.  Presently I have Bravo  55X85OC TV with SONOS playbar connected via HDMI. I have a hearing loss which requires me to use a SONY RF connected via optical cable.   With this set up I am able to hear the the TV broadcast through the headset and my wife can hear the broadcast through the playbar simultaneously. Would I be able to do the same with an A9G TV? I know this is a SONY question but I have been having difficulty contacting SONY.

I brought home a sonos arc over the weekend. Hooked it up Saturday to a gen 2 sub and two One SL’s for surround. Everything was ok Saturday night. But, Sunday, it seems my sub has lost its bass significantly when playing music.  I usually keep my sub at 0. But, now I’m having to up that up a little. Anyone else having/had this problem? Thanks. 

We’ve had the Beam / Vizio combination for several months without issue.  Two weeks ago we began noticing audio cut-out every few minutes for a few seconds.Issue does not appear when we use music streaming services through the Beam, only the TV.TV Audio works fine through the TV built-in speakers.The Beam is connected to the TV via HDMI ARC.  I replaced the HDMI cable twice - no change.TV Audio settings:  {Internal} Speakers:  OFF    Volume Leveling:  OFF  Digital Audio Out:  PCM  Analog Audio Out:  FIXEDTV System settings:  Confirmed latest firmware  CEC:  ENABLED  Have done the usual turn on / turn off and unplug / plug in thing multiple times.No joy.  It seems that others here have suffered from the same issue.Help!  

Has anyone figured out a way to use TV Ears (or something similar) with a playbar?

I would like to mount my new Sonos Arc bar below my LG65Nano90 TV and I would like to know if anyone has experience mounting it to a Sanus Advanced Full Motion Wall Mount?  I would like the sound bar to move with the TV.  I am designing a specialized bracket to hold the Arc to the Sanus but I have one concern and that is will it impact the sound?  I see the Arc either mounted to a wall or sitting on a mantle or cabinet.  Is that simply because there is no commercial product or is it for performance?

I have the arc with a sub and 2 sonos one’s. I use an apple 4K tv and the Optoma UHD60 projector.  The UHD60 has an S/PDIF (optical) audio out port that offers Two Channel PCM (Pulse-Code Modulation).  What option will give me the best surround sound experience? (And better yet, are any of these inferior?)Wireless Connection using the Apple TV settings ‘video and audio’ > ‘audio output’ (easiest) Hdmi from the arc to the optical out on the Optoma (using the hdmi/optical adaptor supplies by Sonos) Purchase a receiver that has hdmi arc audio output capabilities (would love a recommendation for a good and simple receiver just for the Apple TV input with the hdmi arc audio out and a 4K hdmi out)

Hi,we’ve installed in-wall speakers in our project cottage and have left a wall blank so that we can project tv/films into it. The projector needs to be stand-alone and be able to connect to Netflix/BBC iPlayer etc. We are Apple based so will be getting a HomePod or AppleTV to run the Home kit. Any advice about how to set it up gratefully received, many thanks in advance! 

Hi, have a problem the following setup: NVIDIA Shield Pro 2019 connected via HDMI to LG OLED B8 - optical to Playbar. Two surround Play:1 and a sub.Annoyingly, the Playbar suffers intermittent and momentary audio drops when streaming from Plex or Netflix.This can happen twice an hour, or once ever five mins or so. There does not appear to be a rule. This only happens when using the Shield Pro (2019). Via the onboard apps, or 4K Firestick, no problem. I have tried different HDMI cables from the Shield to the TV, but don’t think that is a factor, as I have also tried a Beam instead of the Playbar, and no problem. So the issue seems to be with the Shield and Playbar which is connected via Optical cable (which is fine when using TV apps/Firestick etc.). I want to use the Shield for most of my streaming as the picture quality is superb. Any help is appreciated.

Hello all…..I currently have an old Bose sound bar and sub and Samsung TV, that was purchased many years ago and supplies audio/video in my viewing room. I want to go to an all Sonos system, as I have (5) play 5’s gen 1, throughout the rest of the house. I also have 2 new Sonos amps, one which is currently supplying power to (2) B&W floor loudspeakers in another part of the house.  Now here’s the dilemma. If I go to a Sonos surround system in my viewing room, I understand that I cannot use the gen 1 play 5’s as rears. I would also like to bi wire by B&W’s but cannot do that with the Sonos amps. I can use the B&W’s as 3rd party speakers to the new TV I will be getting in the viewing room (using one of the amps) and just not have a surround system, or purchase new gen 2’s as rears for the  Sonos surround...which I would rather not do. Does anyone see other option to this?...any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

I just purchased a Sonos Arc and a new LG OLED CX TV.  Most nights, when I am done watching TV, I stream music on my Arc through Spotify. But I listen to the music at a lower volume than when I am watching TV. Is there any way to separate the volume by source, so I don’t have to lower the volume for music and then raise it back up the next day when I turn on the TV?

I have a Beam connected to my TV.  On my “goodnight” command via alexa the TV (LG) turns on.  I say goodnight again, it turns off. I disconnect the Beam from Alexa or from ARC port and its not an issue so its certain a Beam issue.I have autoplay turned off in the Sonos appPart of my Alaxa routine is to turn every group off.I cannot understand why or what I am missing here?I even disconnected my LG skills from Alexa in case that was interfering. Diagnostics number: 512443598  

Music and movies (voices) are sounding skewed to the left. I put my ears up to the bar and can definitely hear a difference in the 2 speakers immediately to the left and right of the SONOS logo. The left one has more treble so voices are coming out clearer. Is this a true play issue or some other defect?

Sonos arc volume goes down by itself randomly. it goes all the way down to zero.I’m using sonos app to play tracks from my connected spotify account.

Hi everyone - I’m moving my Connect: AMP which is S2 compatible to my Beam and Sub and In-ceiling speaker setup. The in-ceiling speakers were powered by another Connect: AMP which is only S1 compatible and when I set it up years ago, it was configured via using that strange way of using its IP address. Now it seems like you can’t do that method and requires the Connect: AMP to be connected via Ethernet to the Beam and the router at the same time. My router is located in a different room that’s about 20 metres away so I am wondering is the only way I can do this is getting a 20 metre ethernet cable? Seems like a pretty crappy way to hooking up the system. Any help would be greatly appreciated!  

I live outside Sacramento so while it definitely gets hot in the summer, the winters are fairly mild. I have a large overhang in the backyard and am putting a TV on the outside wall. I would like to put a Sonos Beam installed underneath the TV outside. This would be completely protected from any direct sunlight or any of the elements (protected from rain, wind, sun, etc...). Obviously the only thing that would impact the Sonos would be the heat but again never in direct sunlight. Has anyone every installed a Sonos Beam outside in a very protected area?

Sonos Arc sounds great. Samsung TV shows the volume control as HDMI Receiver with just +|_. Is it possible to show the volume level? Is it annoying to check mobile app for volume level. Need a fix please.
