Just got the Arc and it sounds great.  Configured to HDMI 4 ARC output of TV.  However after setting the TV sound to  Receiver (HDMI) and turning on Dolby Atmos Compatability under Expert Sound Settings and then turning off the TV and then back on the sound setting reverts back to TV Speaker.  The Arc is powered on during this sequence.  The time between on and off does not seem to make a difference as I have tried everything from a few seconds to several hours.  It always reverts back to the internal speakers.  Any ideas??  This is a pain trying to train the spouse on how to fix this every time she turns on the TV.

I’ve had both an Arc and a Sonos Amp for the past few months. The Amp is hooked to floor speakers and a subwoofer, and is used primarily for my turntable. Previously, when watching TV, the Sonos app reported that the Arc was using TV audio and it allowed me to group the Amp for even more volume/bass. However today I tried to take advantage of this feature, and the Sonos app no longer signifies that the Amp is playing TV audio, and as a result I can no longer share TV audio between devices.Has something changed with the Arc firmware, or is there some setting that might be preventing this from working? 

I have two sources with 4k and Dolby Atmos output.They are connected to a 4k projector without eARC.What will I need to connect it to SONOS ARC and take advantage of Dolby Atmos?Thank youRegards.Jose

Hello,I’m going with the theory that perhaps Sonos might pay attention to threads not marked as “Answered” and possibly respond to a new one. A lot of people are patiently waiting to hear about any progress or timeline for supporting multichannel PCM on ARC. Is there anything substantial that you’re able to share with us regarding this feature?

Hi Guys, I spend an afternoon trying to fix my set-up. My playable was connected to the TV but I lost the surround.When I hook it up on a LAN cable all is fine, but the moment I do get it on WIFI nothing comes forward.When I hook it up on LAN it works but my speakers don't connect to it. I reset all items multiple times but no luck - many idea what I can do? Thanks in advance!

Hi all. Question about surround with Arc and Play 1.  Current setup:1. Pioneer plasma tv from about 2005- this is getting replaced soon even though it’s still going strong after all these years. . 2. Play 1 we’ve had several for years Around the houseArc- newly acquired this weekmy main limitation is the TV. No ARC or eARC obviously. It has an optical out but that can’t be engaged using the hdmi inputs on the tv. I connected the ARC to the optical out of my Xfinity cable box and it seems to work ok.For fun I added 1 x Play 1 that is already at the back of the room as a surround. Am I getting a true surround image doing that? We still hear dialogue from the Play 1 and didn’t think we should as a surround. Also, what is feeding that speaker? Right now when I turn the tv off audio still comes thru the arc so I have to hit mute on the remote. That’s no big deal but audio is still coming thru the play 1 and I have to mute it from the app. Going thru the add surround they the app, I can’t te

I had my play bar, sub and 2 play ones unplugged for 2 weeks while doing Reno’s. everything is back now and only the play bar is working. They all have solid white lights and they are listed in the app showing no issues. I’m not sure what to do. 

Hey everyone,I purchased Two Sonos 1, Arc and Gen 3 Sub. I connected everything to work as surround system.I noticed that playing music from just the two Sonos 1’s sounds better than the surround. Is there an easy way to decide from where I want to play music? Thanks

I've a Dell XPS8920 PC with Sound Blaster Z-series audio card (optical output and Dolby Live) linked to a Sonos Beam via TOSlink, then the HDMI converter supplied with the Beam. It took a while to sort out settings but now works well when streaming music, TV or Netflix to my system. The Beam sits neatly under a Dell S2716G monitor. So far, a great set of kit. However, the rear speakers (x2 Play:1's) don't carry sound from the PC (Sound Blaster optical out/converter then HDMI into the Beam) so I can't use the full Dolby facility and so miss out on the 5.1 potential. In "normal" Sonos mode - using iPhone controller or via Alexa - the rears produce terrific sound since here the PC isn't involved. Is there any way of getting 5.1 from the PC into the Beam via this setup? Or is any planned in the future?

I Have an arc, sub and two Sonos ones in my large living room but I miss having a proper audiophile systems. Short of going it alone and getting a connect and loudspeakers, has anyone found a pair of active audiophile level loud speakers, ideally standing, that can be added to the sonos set up? Any ideas on how to get an audiophile experience without just adding another system are welcome.  By audiophile experience I am looking for a really clean sound that is true to recording or source, that I can equalize to have a clear deep bass but an airy high treble and low mid (but clear) sound.  The Sonos system is flattening my tracks and making it hard to equalize, despite the new equalizer. 

I know there are a lot of other similar questions but I am in need to some more specific hand-holding. For outdoor viewing, I am trying to connect my new sonos beam to a Epsom 1450 projector and get video through google chromcast. When everything is connected, I am able to get sound through the beam but could not get simultaneous video (w/o the beam and switch, chromcast and the projector work fine). I tried multiple combinations of the input/outputs in the event my logic was not adding up but no luck. Can anyone help me out with this? (Keep in mind I am not nearly as tech savvy as 95% of you)Thanks!Chris 

Hijust got this Sonos arc connected to my 2012 Sony tv.all fine until I turn off the tv.when tuning the tv back on,the sound is disconnected and needs a new setup in Sonos app.any way of fixing this?The connection I have made is with hdmi arc

After grappling with the ridiculous app, multiple crashes, a beam that doesn’t work and misaligned sound with my TV I have finally decided to pack the whole lot up and sell it.  Sonos, I’m afraid to tell you in 2020 your **** digital experience doesn’t cut it compared to your competitors.the support is dreadful, the system can’t cope with a mesh network, it’s just all in all an expensive pile of waste

As I am reading the promotional materials I am starting to realize that the Sonos Arc may be marketed more towards the buyer who just wants one speaker to “do it all” rather than someone who likes and has invested in multiple Sonos speakers already. I am trying to finish my 5.1 home theater setup. I have two ones, a sub and now I need a soundbar. What advantages are there for me in getting the Arc in this situation?I would say this is meant more for movie watching… and also I do listen to a lot of music on my system. Thanks!!!

Hi,I have just purchased a Beam to connect to my Sony KD55A85 but I get no sound when I connect it to the ARC port.  If I use the opticle adapter the sound seems to be ok, I have spoken with Sony support and they have taken me through all the setting that need to be enabled on the TV.  Bravia Sync is on etc … and tried a factory reset but still no joy - any ideas ?Thanks in advance.

All, I bought an apple TV 4K. Previously had a 3rd gen apple tv, and was aboe to stream music/tv to the playbar etc. With apple TV 4K, I can only airplay, and that is not to the playbar, but a Sonos One I have in another part of the house. Anyone know how I can point apple TV4K audio to the TV which has playbar, two play 1’s, a play 3 and a sub hooked up to it?

Hello, I have a Beam (connected to the LG TV via ARC HDMI) with 2 Play:1’s for my surround sound setup. My TV is connected to an Apple TV 4K. My surround for the TV was working fine until today. A few days ago, I canceled my internet provider through Comcast and switched to AT&T (not sure if this is relevant) but in any case, the surround for the TV stopped working. Music works just fine, just not the TV.My Beam is connected to the internet via WIFI and the two speakers are connected to each other on the same WIFI network.I’ve tried to fix it by removing and setting up the surround again and resetting the speakers themselves. None seem to work. I will try to unplug/plug in the ARC HDMI tomorrow but I doubt that’ll fix it.Any help on this would be much appreciated.Thanks!

I have a new LG OLED55BX6LB 55" Smart. 4K TV (2020) and a new Sonos ARC. I cannot get the Sonos’s ARC and the TV to work together using the eARC HDMI port on the TV. The IR connection works as it should, but will not deliver the same sound range/quality as promised by the eARC connection.

Apologies . I can’t edit the typos  I just received my Arc and sub and was wondering if there is a much less expensive alternate to a HD Fury arcana?  Thanks 

Hi experts!I was in touch with the support yesterday regarding that my Sonos One suddenly disappeared from and could not play. After sending in diagnostics, it was confirmed that i have a lot of wireless disturbance where the speaker is located, although there’s absolutely nothing else using wireless close to it. Well, never mind, to prevent this is i was asked to change the wireless channel that Sonos uses to something else, that is not used by the router. My problem is that my router is set to auto, so what’s your recommendation here?It feels like going in and change those channels in the router can actually make it worse... 

Just recently moved into our house that has just gotten finished being built. I have a decent sized media/computer room I bought a Sonos Arc/Sub/One surrounds for. What am I looking at TV wise? I was looking at a Q95. When I went in to Best Buy today to purchase a TV the guy told me there are some issues with Samsung TV’s eARC and getting the Sonos to use Atmos, he advised me to come to the Sonos community page and ask before I purchased. Solid advice from the Best Buy dude. =)Thanks in advance!

Will the Ikea speakers work as rear surrounds with my play bar and sub

We upgraded our old Sonos Playbars recently for Arc’s and decided to make use of the old Playbar in our bedroom.  However, I am having issues getting it to work nicely with my TV.  We have a Sharp Aquos LC-60LE600U. I have TV through AppleTv box connected through an HDMI cable.  The playbar only option is an optical cable.  The sound will not come through the speakers on the Playbar.  I called Sharp support and basically was told that since I have an HDMI cable connected the Optical will not work. Any workarounds?  

Can anybody confirm whether or not the Sonos Arc includes an onscreen volume level indicator when used with an LG CX OLED? I currently have a BEAM that when paired with both and older LG OLED or an older Panasonic will only indicate “volume up” or “volume down” but not give me the volume levels. It is a petty thing but very annoying to me. 

My Sonos surround system (Arc+One speakers+sub) is at present receiving its audio from a 2011 55-inch Samsung TV’s HDMI (ARC) port. The app does not show the audio format on the TV’s “room screen.” When I go to “About my system/Sonos System info/Sonos Arc: Family Room,” the “Audio in:” always shows “stereo,” even when it sounds like I’m hearing surround sound. So, to my questions: why doesn’t the app’s room screen tell me anything about what audio signal the Arc’s receiving; and why does the “Audio in:” come up as “stereo” when the system sounds to me like it’s putting out 5.1 surround sound? Is the latter possible because (1) my 9-year-old Samsung’s HDMI ARC doesn’t support 5.1 surround and (2) the Arc and the surrounds are going a passable job of simulating it? (The Samsung’s optical audio output only supports PCM.) My issues with the app are are short term--I hope--because in a little over two weeks my Arc will be receiving its audio from a 2020 Sony X950H TV with an HDMI eARC port
